Grandparents?

How about grand fish parents instead?  Ryder called me that he had a million fish babies in his aquarium.  Maybe not a million but they are all over the place.  I just had to call Dave and tell him he is a grandpa to a million babies.  WHAT!!!  After I stopped laughing I explained a little further that they are baby fish.  He definitely didn't think I was funny.  He almost had a heart attack.

You can see the little black dots.
Those are the baby guppies that now are over taking his tank.

More little black dots "aka fish"

These little guys are really hardy and they keep on growing.  Ryder & Reegan watch over them to make sure they are taken care of properly.  Ryder even offered Reganne some for her tank.  She is not so sure she wants to start over with guppy babies.

2 week update I was in charge of feeding them.  The tank looked really quiet until I sprinkled the food.  The tank was buzzing with fish for the next 5 minutes.  Not sure what the boys are planning when they get bigger.  Maybe we will be giving them away to good homes.

Stay tuned to the Guppy Adventures!!

Rat Fink Reunion

What do you do in the summer time in St George when the temperatures are reaching 105 degrees the first week of June.  Our AC was not keeping up so time to drive away for at least the day.  Dave discovered the Rat Fink Reunion Car Show being held in Manti this weekend.  Ryder & I were willing to go along for the adventure.

Loved this little hot rod.

Father & son talking cars.
Pros & cons of each one.
Let me get a picture with
the Rat!!

Auction
A lot of Rat Fink art in various forms.
We definitely didn't fit in here.
Retro Hipi is what I would call it.

These boys are definitely
father & son.
They even walk the same.

Manti Temple
We loved driving around exploring places we haven't been in awhile.
The Pioneer Temples are so beautiful.

On the road again.
We really aren't sure where this road is taking us.
We hope it's towards food.

The Ideal Dairy!!
Food was good but the ice cream was better.

We drove the back roads with the top down on the Cruzer.  Got a whole lot of sun, saw a whole bunch of smelly cows, and enjoyed our time together.

Family Hike

Dave made plans for Memorial Day that he wanted everyone to be home for.  We are going on a hike by Snow Canyon and we have to leave early to beat the crowds.  More likely the heat!!! Reganne made plans with friends from work to go find the new BTS Meal @ McDonalds.  Dave let her off but the rest of us were still on board.

Trail head with only a few cars
in the parking lot.
How long is this going to take?

Loading the backpack.
Definitely need water.

Love the flowers
Beware of the rest of the cactus.

Rocky trail
with a lot of wild life roaming around.
I hate snakes & lizards

Stopping
Water or the view?
Once again Dave left out important detail out.  The whole hike was 12 miles long.  6 up and 6 back.  We made it maybe 1 or 2 miles was it.  We were pathetic and out of shape.  Maybe we will try this again in the fall.  Or not!!

More wild life
The food must be getting scarce already.
This little herd was by the high school.

Check out the young buck.

It was a busy weekend thank goodness it was a 3 day weekend.  I need to go back to work to relax.  Let the summer begin.

Memorial Swim Meet

What a difference a year makes.  Long course season is moving right along.  We are back in the pool but not in Cedar City.  This year the meet is at DSU Health & Performance Pool.  The kids are all anxious to try it out.

There were multiple teams attending from Northern Utah, California, Colorado, and Nevada.  The Mixed format makes it a challenge since all ages are competing together.  Listening to the officials describing the computer program and how it would determine the tops spots.  Keeping fingers crossed that it all works out.

Large pool with
a lot of windows.

He is in the zone!!
Ready to swim...

Saturday afternoon
Empty pool means time to relax before the craziness starts.

Trying to catch the start
backstroke.

It was a fun, hectic meet full of crazy kids running around.  New pool to explore and to get the fill for it. I definitely like the SUU pool better but it being closed down for maintenance.  They will reopen next week just in time for their swimmers to get ready for summer games.

Randomness

The craziest time of the year or one of them at least.  School ending and summer starting everyone has their plans of the perfect summer.  Ryder's is hanging with friends, swimming, and playing unlimited video games.  Reganne's is hanging out with friends, sleeping, sleeping, and working at Sonic.  Rylee's is working, sleeping, and unlimited dates.

What is wrong with my boiled egg?
Oops, Ryder put this one in the wrong bowl.
Thank goodness I cracked it in the baggie.

Ryder & Friends
Helping out another friend by washing the windows.

Goodbye Mazda
This has been a great car for almost 19 years.
It's headed off to be recycled.

Welcome
Ava Ann Rawlins!!!
Congratulations to Jacy & Spencer.
Blake & Julie are now grandparents.

Rylee & Grandma JeanAnn
Rylee took a road trip to visit friends up North.
She stopped to see grandma.
We have sure missed seeing her over the past year.

Love this smile!!
She was ready for a little fun and sun away from home.

She saw a UFO in Spanish Fork
A little freaked out.
She decided to freak me out also by sharing.
(star formations)

Putting the floor in.
Piper checking out the new space.
Dave has put a lot of hard work into this area for Rylee.

I think we need to hang on for more adventures and craziness this year.  We only have 11 weeks left of summer vacation

End Of School Year

We have made it to the end of the school year.  No school closures, no online school, and only one quarantine.  Reganne finished everything on Friday.  SRIS Honor's Assembly was the last event of the year.  Parents & visitors on one side and 7th graders on the other side.  There were still a few masks in the crowd and even a couple rubber gloves.

7th Grade Class
w/teacher chaperones.
So well behaved!!
2 choices one they are statues or assigned seats.

Close up

Proud of this boy!!
Reganne was snapping the pictures.
She refused.

It has been a good year.  Even with the unexpected twists and turns.  Ryder claims he can wear his mask longer than anyone else.  He has had a lot of practice.  This also ends another chapter as we say goodbye to Sunrise Ridge Intermediate School.  Ryder now moves onto Desert Hills Middle School as an 8th grader.  Later start time will much appreciated.

Let summer fun begin....

Where is My Wallet?

This is a phone call I don't want to get at work.  When something has been misplaced I seem to be the person to call.  This Friday morning I was not prepared for Reganne calling me in tears that her wallet was missing from her car and all the items from her jockey box were on her front seat.  Trying to calm her down so I could really understand the problem took a few additional minutes.  My questions to her did she check under & around her seat?  Did you check your backpack?  Did you check your room?

NO!!!! I left it in my jockey box last night.  Did you lock your doors? YES!!! wait a minute I did when I got home from work.  I left some cheese sticks in the car so I went back out and got them.  I don't think I locked it that time.  I HAVE BEEN ROBBED!!!  Ok, that we can deal with later everything can be replaced.  Go to class.

5 minutes later I get another call.  I locked my keys in the car with my backpack still inside.  Can you bring me the extra set.  Rylee was asleep and Dave was in a meeting.  I was off and running.  Unlocked her car, gave her a hug, and turned around heading back towards work.

Parking the car at work another text message pops up from DSU Police that her wallet has been turned into them.  She can come pick it up.

After school we headed towards campus to pick it up and get more details.  The college president found it about 2 miles away from our house by Mr D's gas station.  Her tip money was missing, but drivers license, and 2 dollar bill were still inside.

Found

Dave posted on Facebook warning everyone to lock their doors tonight.  We found that about 5 cars had been gone through nothing much taken of any value.  Except Dave's charging block that has saved us more times than I can count.

The only funny thing about this whole thing is I never lock my doors.  I did that night.  The only thing they could have taken was an iPhone charger with a taped end that could have shorted out at any minute.

Reganne told us all that we need to lock all our doors every day.  She has become the door police and double checks every door when she gets home from work.

Random Weekend

Saturday is the day we get ready for the week.  Dave & Ryder busy working downstairs on the remodel.  Me cleaning & scrubbing upstairs.  Both girls at work.

Time for a lunch break...New chicken place in town "Chicken Stixs" let's check it.  This is really the first place we have walked in that masks are not required or social distancing marked on the floor.  It was a little cold inside with the AC blowing full blast and it only being about 75 degrees outside.  They had blazing fast service.

Ryder's chicken sandwich
which was devoured in about 15 minutes max.

Dave's chicken salad
Last but lot least my chicken tenders & fries.

Verdict, the tenders were ok a little greasy and heavy on the crust.  Ryder like his sandwich and Dave liked his salad.  We all still prefer Chick fil lay.

Ginger's nose prints
It's time to say goodbye and clean these nasty windows
I had to take one last picture.

Smoked Pizza
Dave & Ryder have been dying to try out the smoker they bought a couple of weeks ago.
They were told to try smoked pizza it is the best.
This is the only way I will eat Hawaiian Pizza not so much the pepperoni.
I asked Ryder to put it in a ziploc bag for me.
I guess I should have been more specific.  He put both pizzas in one bag by smashing them down.
When I opened the bag it was a task to separate them into slices.
The smoke smell was over the top and the rest was thrown away.
Better luck next time.

Birthday Present
This pan made a big difference on the shape of my bread.

Sunday Dinner
Scalloped potatoes, homemade french bread, and garlic steaks.
Very yummy, but not a hit since there were leftovers.

Only 10 days left of school!!! Will we survive these final days?  Bring it on!!

Perfect Mother's Day

How would the perfect Mother's Day look to you?  When I thought about it for a couple of days I had my plan.  No cooking for anyone, no cleaning up after anyone, taking a nap or two.  Ryder asked what I wanted for breakfast if he cooked then I would have to clean up.  How about Raspberry doughnuts, old fashioned doughnuts, and milk.

Dave didn't believe him on the doughnuts.
He had to buy the store ones since I couldn't like anything else.
Love the new houseplants.

Nap time
Downstairs with Piper & Dave.
We watched a couple of movies.

Blake & Julie invited us for dinner.  They always make yummy food that can't be duplicated.  Once again we relaxed and watched another movie.

I love being a mother.  However, these teenager years are really kicking my butt.  They are never happy, or like the food I make, how I wash their clothes, and last but not least don't ask any questions.  This phase is much more tiring than when they were little who knew.  I do love the occasional hugs, random text messages, and making or bringing me treats.  They each surprised me on my birthday & today with thoughtful gifts.  I am lucky they are mine for eternity.
