County Fair

Ryder and I were on our own this Saturday Morning.  Ryder was begging to check the Washington County Fair what better way to spend of couple of hours.  Let's beat the crowds and head over now.  $5 to park but we were early and they weren't setup yet.  They were setup yet to take the money either so we headed in to the empty parking lot.  We had our choice of spots.

Should I be worried??

There were a few cars in
the closer lot.

The doors were open but
where was everyone?

The fair is never this empty.
A man finally shouted out that everyone was still at the parade in town.  Ryder wasn't to excited about staying.  Until we spotted...

The Pirate Ship
There was only the worker getting it setup for the day.  I asked him if we could take a look around.

Look up!!!

A cool slide
Let me drive
Now  I can see him.

We looked around awhile longer but soon ran out of displays.  Time to head home, wake the girls up, and get some lunch.

See ya next year at the fair.  Ryder will definitely remind me next year that we can't go so early.  We did make a funny memory that will last forever.

End of Summer Tournament

Summer vacation is coming to an end there is time for one final tournament for Pickleball.  Ryder was excited to participate and show off his new skills.

Time to play some Pickleball...

Warmups

Warming up and waiting.
This kids slowly started to arrive.
What started out as only 2 kids soon became four.  It was time to get started.

Parents Doubles Match
Thank goodness Dave waited to leave for Salt Lake until a little latter.  If  I had played Ryder would have survived my poor athletic skills.  It was finally time for the actual tournament.  They would play a game against each person.  The one with the most points scored with be the winner.

Hot & sweaty after 2 games
One win & one lose

One last game and
with a little coaching from Dad.
He was pooped and scored a total of 18 points.  Missing third place by only one point.  Once again he took it all into stride and asked if he could play fall season.  He is excited to work on the new sport skills he has been learning.  The best player who all the kids looked up to in awe.  Paid him a great compliment that he was the hardest to play against with his great defense.

Dave was headed to Salt Lake for Mike's Surprise 50th Birthday Party.  The girls wanted to sleep in.  Ryder & I were on our own for the morning.

Another Beautiful Saturday

At Sand Hollow.  We got a little later start than usual by about 15 minutes.  If you asked Dave & Ryder it was an hour later.  We also have a plus one Rylee's friend Tilly.  Everyone was ready to play and have some fun.

Kneeboarding

Swimming

Even Dave got in on the action.

Tubing
or at least trying to.
More tubing

And even more tubing
There were still smiles from everyone.  However, the sore muscles and growling stomachs won out over the fun it was time to head home.  Loading up and drying off the boat seems to take forever when your stomach is growling and the sun is pounding down.  We finally made it on the road towards home the line of boats coming in what out to the main road.  We were really glad we were headed out.

Lunch and a movie to round out our Saturday afternoon.  Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the movie of the day.  It was much better than I thought more to the story that scary dinosaurs eating everything in sight.

It was a great day full of fun, food, and even a few memories thrown in.  This type of Saturday is getting to be a habit.  When do you fit in the cleaning, shopping, and laundry??  Any ideas?

Lagoon 2018

Remember previous advice about Lagoon trips.  The 24th of July is the best day for this adventure.  Being there when the gates open is the best time to start.  Front row parking, short lines to get in, and not as many strollers to avoid.

We caught the early flight without any problems.  Car rental when smoothly the "Mystery Car" didn't turn out so well.  It was a compact and a little squishy.  First stop breakfast at ODenny's (this one will have to change)  The food wasn't very good and grumbling about the menu choices requires a change for next year.  One more stop for water & treats we were the 2nd car in line for parking.

Only one smile in the group.

Second ride
"The Roller Coaster"
Much rougher and creaky than last year.  My back will hurt for days and my head will recover sooner.
Reganne wanted to break things up this year and head to Rattlesnake Rapids now instead of waiting.  The lines were much shorter and they were able to fit in 2 rides instead of just the one.

These 2 are crazy
Going for their second ride.

Drenched???

YEP!!

Gorgeous
Beautiful
Time for the train ride and a visit to Reganne's tigers.

Don't they look excited?
The train ride is a must to visit Reganne's tigers.  They weren't moving around it was either nap time or an early lunch.
WOW!!
130 years old!!!

A family selfie

A couple more rides.
Bora Bora

Loved this!!
The lines were minimal all day with the longest wait being about 20 minutes.  Everyone rode what they wanted to at least once it not multiple times.  5:30 we were hot, tired, and hungry.  Everyone agreed on Subway without one complaint.

Dave was gun shy from our Granby trip so we arrived 3 1/2 hours early to the airport.  We had plenty of time and sailed through returning the car and security.  We know had a 3 hour wait until they called our flight.  Hopefully this wait will go as fast as the one in Denver.

Charging station
You Tube will entertain.
We made it home all together and even on the same plane.  It was a fun day but it was time for bed.  Everyone but me would be able to sleep in and they did.

I am sure glad for these small adventures that we are able to take as a family.  I hope this kids will have good memories of the crazy things we find to do.
