Holiday Weekend Continues

We definitely needed our Lagoon trip and we had to squeeze it in somehow.   Thank goodness for two hour church.  We could teach our class and hit the road before dark.  Maybe even fit in some family time with those we don't get to see very often.

Dinner with Uncle Randy & Aunt Janelle or rather dinner for us and dessert for them.

Kids Table???

Rylee found her favorites
She loved on them and even
got Kason to snuggle up to her.

What a group!!
Sorry Brinton you are cut in half.
A few smiles in the group.
We sure miss this family and wish they lived closer.

We made it to the MacPherson's house a little late thank goodness they love us or we might have been spending the night in the car.  Up early and heading out for a family favorite.

First ride of the day
The Haunted Mansion??
Reganne met up with friends from home and soon disappeared for the day.

The Ferris Wheel
Once again we got Dave on it.
Everyone hold your breathe and don't move.

Best lunch
Navajo Tacos in Pioneer Village
I ate the whole thing!!!

Waiting @ Rattlesnake Rapids
On her phone connecting with her peeps!!

I'm a little slow
in snapping this picture.
They were screaming & getting wet.
We had a couple of rides left the log flume, sky ride, and the train.  We fit everything in and left at 5.  Everyone was hot, tired, and very sweaty.  It felt so much warmer there than it did at home.

It was a fun weekend full of adventures.  I am now ready to get home and relax.  The fair count down is starting tomorrow.

Holiday Weekend??

This is usually the time we head for Lagoon.  This year with Rylee's commitments it wasn't going to happen until next week.  However, Dave had taken the time off work and decided to take the kids on a few adventures.  He had found the perfect car for Reganne to drive when the time comes.  In the mean time he found a good daily driver for himself a convertible PT Cruiser.

What better way to break it in and work out the kinks that head out on a road trip.  They were off to Lake Powell to explore for the day.

Mostly smiles
Hopefully they don't cause to much trouble along the way.

Waiting for the Dam Tour
Reganne being a good sport and giving up
her ticket when they oversold it.
Saturday was another road trip and this time I got to go along.  We were headed to Brian Head Resort for a car show.  I gave Reganne a hard time about wearing long sleeve and long pants.  She was going to definitely melt.  We were in for another surprise the temps dropped about 30 degrees from home.  She wasn't going to melt but the rest of us might get a little chilled.

Loved this view
There were a few too many people moving around between the car show and a wedding.  There were new cars to see and even a few shops to explore.  We ate at the local sandwich shop and ate their yummy food.  We were able try a lot of different sandwiches by sampling what each of us ordered.

What a group.
Time to head home
I was definitely cold!!!
The car is fun to ride in with the top down as long as you have short hair.  Reganne was not impressed it left her hair a tangled, snarly mess.  She does look forward to when she finally turns 16 and can drive it for real.

Pioneer Day

Another holiday and another parade.  This one is in Washington City and they were ready to celebrate.  The previous parades I have found a spot to to watch with no problem.  Not this one both sides were lined with people young & old.  Ryder & I found a shady spot and setup camp only to realize we are totally on the wrong side.  The median is were everyone started moving to on our perfect side.  Time to move quickly and find a semi good spot.

Time to start
It was already 90 degrees and very sunny.

This is a boring spot, the people
are strange, and the sun is in
my eyes.
This boy needs more sleep.

Here they come
and in a cool convertible.

Showing off the Princess Wave

Close up
Love that smile!!!

From behind
their sashes now have their names on them.
The girls hopefully had fun in the heat.  It was fun watching them drive by smiling and waving.  We even got a few treats and Dave made it in time to sit by us.  They now have a couple weeks off before the county fair which is going to be a major week long event.

Dave & the kids headed home and I headed to work.  I could sit and cool off for the rest of the day without anyone asking me what is for lunch.  I do have to plan dinner.....Maybe a cook out??

W & W Annual Campout

Every year is a new adventure when we go camping.  We have survived thunder & lightening, fires,  emergency room visits, and now no water unless boiled first.  It was going to be a new adventure for sure.  A first this year was not everyone was going to be there for the whole time.  Jacy & Spencer have just moved to Salt Lake City to start new jobs and the next adventure.  Ryder was going to be at scout camp until Saturday afternoon.  Rylee had to work Saturday night and wouldn't be coming up afterwards.  Trying to feel positive and enjoy our time together.

Dinner
Little Ceasars and the great out doors.

Reganne & Dacoda
Found the air soft guns for a little
target practice before dark.
It is so peaceful after dark.  Except someone forgot to turn the light out.  It was a full moon and it sure is bright in the mountains.  The plus side is also not much wild life out and about when it's this bright.

Best part of camping
all the snacks.

Ryder checking out the hammock.
Dave trying to pester him by rocking it.
Too bad it isn't quiet enough to sneak up.

Sound asleep before 6:00.
Scout camp must have been fun.
He slept through the night.

New treat
Roasted Rice Krispie Treats
The highlight of the campout is roasting Peeps.  When things get boring around the campfire.  Time to shake it up.  The rice krispie treats were yummy.  How about cinnamon bears?

Ok, but really gooey.
Sitting around the campfire laughing, joking, and star gazing.  The forest was quiet and very relaxing.  The best part no cell phone signal so completely out of the loop for at least a day.   On our way home no emergencies or fires that needed immediate attention.  It's good to unplug for awhile.

Time to pack up and head for home.  I am glad we decided to come and not cancel.  It was a great weekend.

Cedar City Car Show

Every weekend is a new adventure.  Today's adventure is the Cedar City Car Show.  This is an all day show starting off with sign ins at 8.  Dave and Ryder left bright and early.  I followed with Rylee a couple of hours later when he discovered the actual show doesn't start until 4.

We met up at the Iron Springs Resort outside of Cedar.  Rylee & her friend Gage checked out all the cars parked at the resort.  We now had plenty of time for lunch and maybe some treats before it's time to park.  Dave & Ryder were eager to get our spot and enjoy.

The line up
The men swapping stories and
comparing cars.

Father & Son
Bonding time

This is how you wear your hat.

My feet are tired & very dirty.
We walked through all the various booths for free stuff and prizes from games.  My favorite was 5 minute chair massages and boy did I need it after a crazy day in the sun.

Large crowds
if not a little strange.
We pulled up stakes at 7 and headed home.  It was a fun day spent with family and meeting new people.  We even made a few friends.  Car people are very friendly.  However, there were a lot of strange people also roaming around from the Medieval Fair also going on.  This show is definitely one to do again.

4th of July Overload

I love holidays it usually means a slower pace than a normal day.  This year the 4th of July was going to be crazy busy.  First up is getting across town by 6:30 am to pick up the car for the royalty to ride in.  We arrived early and walked into Dave's version of heaven.

Cars

More cars!!!!
We needed to get moving before those
thoughts running through Dave's mind
turn serious.

Rylee...Look at my sweet ride.
Dave...Am I really going to drive this awesome car?
Ryder...Don't breath or move don't want to ruin this car.

Looking good for
7:30 in the morning

Pictures with their sponsor.
This kids were really shy around the girls.

Girl Power

Pictures with the Mayor
Where are Rylee's shoes?

On the road
Looking good and they all turned
to give me big smiles.

Frustrated!!!
The kids around us kept taking all the candy.

Resting in the shade
Dave taking a break from driving a clutch in a parade.
The car is cool but it sure hurts the legs.

Crazy girls
Finding any shade available.
The parade was a success but the heat was rising time to catch a nap for a minute or two or thirty.  Movies, food, and another nap is on my agenda for the rest of the afternoon.  Ryder had more plans for everyone.  He was so excited to go to DSU Stadium for the Michael Ray Concert and fireworks.

We need to find some shade.....

Found some
and perfect for people watching.

Food lines
Of course the longest line was for Zeppe's
for frozen goodness.

Filling up
as the music starts.

Michael Ray is great
in concert.  Ryder was in heaven.
Almost time for the fireworks.  Our shady spot wasn't the perfect spot for fireworks.  We needed to find a better spot.  We found the perfect spot by the van.  No people and a quick escape.

Amazing

Perfect
except for the car alarms going off.
We were home by 10:30.  It was a great day even if we are more tired than a normal work day.  This month is going to be filled with more stuff than we are prepared for.

Royalty Photo Shoot

Royalty Season is starting off with the official photo shoot.  The girls haven't had any activities in June.  July was definitely going to be different.  Rylee loved going dress shopping once again with the patriotic theme in mind she was ready to search and find.  The backdrop was the spinny park across town.

Love the dress

Posing

Strange man doing Ti Chi??
Or just acting weird?

Mimic

Costume Change

Royalty bonding
During one of the changes somehow a bee got stuck between Rylee's butt and her pants.  The only outcome could be getting stung.  The bee didn't survive his misadventure.  Rylee did survive but had to pull out the stinger.  I hope they got some amazing pictures since all three are pretty photogenic.  Time to call it a night tomorrow is going to be a busy one.
