Utah Summer Games Swim Meet

The summer games swim meet is a fun event to attend.  Ryder is excited to see how much time he can shave off each event.  I was excited to watch him try.  Thursday @ 1:00 the buzzer sounded and the kids were ready to compete.

Here we go...

They are off..

They no longer have medal ceremonies.
This now makes a good photo op.

Future Olympian
Is it real??

Playing racquetball with Dad.
Ryder worked so hard and accomplished his goals.  It was fun to officiate and interact with the participants.

Here are his stats:
 Event #6 Boys 11-12 200 LC Freestyle:  3.03.81 / 3rd Place / Bronze Medal
 Event #30 Boys 11-12 200 LC IM:  3.34.28 / 4th Place
 Event #107 Boys 11-12 400 LC Freestyle: 6.22.57 / 2nd Place /  Silver Medal
 Event #124 Boys 11-12 100 LC Breaststroke:  1.58.69 / 4th Place

His times are really starting to drop and he is eager to keep working.  However, they aren't good enough to make it to state this year.  The coaches tell him that if he continues to work hard he will make it there.

Jam Packed June

Our first month of summer vacation has been jam packed full of adventures.  We are still waiting for hot summer temperatures to arrive but in the mean time we can still enjoy the cooler weather.

Ryder begging to start a Youtube Channel
How much work can that me??
Enough that we are still working out the kinks of editing.

Headed to Girls Camp
She had fun but
we missed her a lot!!

Teasing and pestering never stops
between these two.

Just had to share!!
A perfect dive during warm ups.

Rylee's cool nails
Her mini vacation with Johnny's family
to San Diego.

Learning to fish
Boys Youth Camp is coming up
and he needs to be on his game.
I have been hoping the lazy days of summer will start soon.  So far it looks like July will be just as busy or even crazier.  We need to fasten our seat belts, fill our water bottles, keep hands and feet inside until the ride comes to a complete stop.  Who knows when that will be??

Celebrating....

The end of the school year & awesome grades.  We started this tradition last year and it needed to be continued.  These 3 worked so hard the last 9 months that they deserve a reward.  This years dinner was at the Cliffside Inn & Restaurant on Airport Hill.  It has been years since Dave & I tried it but Rylee went there for Jr Prom.  It was time to dress up and get some yummy food.

Don't they clean up good?

Waiting for a table
What did we do to pass the time before iPhones?

Love these 3!!!
and
Love the smiles.
We are snobs in that the food was way to fancy for us to really enjoy.  The one item we could all agree on was the parmesan fries were amazing!!!!  The city view was also pretty great as well.  We hope that they continue work hard at school this fall.  In the mean time they can continue to enjoy their summer vacation.

Just Add Waters

It's time to take the boat to the lake.  Boating time starts early and the girls weren't very excited to get out of bed but the grudging got ready.  We headed out.....

The sun it out
and the water is smooth.

Who is going in first??
Ryder lost the first battle.

Chilling in the sun
Rylee wasn't going near the water.

This girl trying a Red Bull.
Everyone swore she wouldn't like it.
WRONG!!! she thought it tasted pretty good.
like smarties.

Tubing
Ryder & Reganne
Loving it!!!

Who will be the last person
on the tube???
It was a great morning enjoying family time once everyone relaxes.  It's amazing what sun, water, and a boat will do to everyone.  Let's hope there are many more Saturday mornings this summer to enjoy being together.  The only thing I request is that the water warms up.  It was DANG!!!! Cold!!!!

Hiking Again

Checking out another trail in Zions on a Saturday morning.   We made it into the park without waiting in long line.  We did run into a little trouble fining a parking space.  After the 5th time circling the lot someone pulled out and gave us their spot.  Ryder picked the trail and we were off.

The river is running high & fast.
Don't get to close.

This might be a great hike.
Paved path the whole way?

The path was deceptive.
We all needed water.

The view is great but
we couldn't find the end.

There is the trail head
What a beautiful view but a killer hike.
We are novice hikers that need to learn and experience the great outdoors.  The first thing we learned is not to eat lunch before we hike.  Also, bring out own waters and not to rely on Ryder for our water source.    It was great being outside enjoying the sun and blue skies.  Then reality came smashing through there was still time to clean the house and get a few groceries.  Or NOT!!!

Road Trip to Parowan

We didn't enter a car in this years show but we still need to check the show out.  What's new in town?  The show was a smaller but with more vendors to check out.  Ryder begged for lunch at the local cafe he was starving.  This is becoming a chronic problem that I can't fill him up.

Kittens free to a good home.
Just not our home.

See the large divit?
Sat down and felt like I sat on the floor.
Maybe I need to lose a few pounds
or they need to fix the bench??

This looks fun to ride.
Too bad it was drawing a crowd so no rides.

No tour this year so
I took a picture instead.
It was a fun afternoon checking out the cars, exploring the shops, and enjoying the beautiful weather.  Maybe next year everyone will come with us and enjoy family time.

Marvelous May???

It has been a wild and crazy month.  Much crazier that I could even have imagined.  School ended and with it everyone advanced to a Senior, Freshman, and a Sixth Grader.  I am really not ready for these changes and new challenges they will bring.

What will this summer bring???
The weather is way to cool and rainy.  There is way to much snow still up in the mountains.
Will that mean a cooler summer or rather fire season to beat all others?

The things I know for certain is that Ryder has swim each day, Rylee is working & Miss St George activities.  Reganne has girls camp and possibly hanging out with friends.
Dave & I both working.

I almost forgot that the airport is closed until September 26th so definitely no quick trips.

One thing that beats out all others is the laundry that is always waiting.  It doesn't care about the weather, the activities, or even the day.
It always is lying in wait for a sneak attack!!!
It tries to steal smiles.

Surprise!!!
It can't steal the biggest smile of all when it's all put away and I won!!!
Well at least for a couple of hours.

Hope everyone has a smile on their face and enjoying these crazy months of sunscreen, sunburn, wet towels, and yummy hamburgers.
