April Winds Bring......

Another windy and busy week. Little Valley Elementary had its annual Meet The Masters Art Show. All year they have been studing different artists and their individual styles and mediums that they use. Each student got to choose their favorite picture to display. Rylee was so proud of her picture and wanted to show it off.
We bought them their first flip flops. Here they are trying to walk down the slick halls of the school. They either flipped them backwards or slid forwards. They did a couple of superman moves as well. Reganne mastered it and then tried to show Rylee. Before we left the art show they had figured it out and were walking fairly normal.
Reganne was invited to her first birthday party. She wasn't to sure about giving someone else a toy. Even if it was her friend. She wanted it for herself. The party was at "JumpinJacks" and it was full of blowup bounce toys. There were mostly slides and required climbing up and sliding down. Reganne went full force and loved it. This slide was the largest and required alot of climbing. She made it with a couple of boosts from people behind her. By the end she was doing it by herself. She would stand at the top, jump, and slide down. At the bottom she was all smiles and would go again. After 2 hours she was worn out. Thank goodness for me.
Ryder went with us and enjoyed the ice cream. However, he wanted to slid as well. When I put him in the stroller he started to fuss. He wanted to play.
Ryder has had a rough week. Along came his second tooth and it brought ear infections and coughing. He would cough so hard that he would throw up. After visiting the doctor about his stomach. Which has improved greatly. He started him on breathing treatments for the congestion and cough. Also, antibiotics for his ears. The good news is that he grew an inch, but only gained 10 ounces. So his current height is 25 3/4 inches and 13 pounds 12 ounces. Reganne when she saw the him doing the breathing treatment. Asked me why Ryder was smoking? Then quickly tried to blow it away from him. So now when it is time for a treatment we say that we need to "smoke the baby". He sounds much better and his eating has improved.
He got tried of waiting for the girls to go to bed and fell asleep. He now loves to sleep on his side. He still will only roll to his side.

Let the Wind Blow

When Spring comes to St George so does the wind. Which was perfect for the annual Kite Festival. This is held each year at Sun River Golf Course. Each school age child can earn a free kite by reading each day for at least 15 minutes. Rylee was so excited to finally get her own kite. She worked really hard and is starting to read pretty good on her own. I am amazed at how well for only being 6. However, the winds were blowing so hard that we were unable to fly her kite.
So instead her and Reganne rode the little train around the golf course. Reganne wasn't so sure about it, but once she sat by Rylee she was all smiles.
Ryder has had a rough week. His second tooth has decided to come in as well. So he has been miserable. Along with the tooth he started coughing and lost his voice. He looks at you with sad eyes and wants to be held. He loves to be outside with the girls and dad. He was standing there chatting away to whoever would listen.

Happy Birthday Rylee

Rylee turned 6 years old on April 2nd. She has been so excited to finally have her birthday. Just ask her it took forever... She had two birthday celebrations one on her birthday where she picked dinner for the family and we went to Arby's for their chocolate turnovers. Spring Pictures at Kiddie Kandids, and finally presents with the family. She got Barbie Mariposa which she loves the movie.
The second party came on Saturday with family and friends that came. Rylee, Reganne, Mom, and Grandma Jean Ann all went and had manicures and pedicures. They loved being able to pick their nail polish and of course both picked pink. Next it was on to the Bear Mill where Grandma let them each build an animal. They love this Rylee brought home a new cat and Reganne a new horse. They sleep with them and carry them around the house. I have taken away the leashes that came with them. They were hooking them on their clothes and walking each other. Then I noticed the holes in their shirts. The leashes disappeared.
Next came cake and friends. I couldn't find a Barbie Mariposa and tried Barbie Fairtopia. Rylee said that was ok.

She refused to tell us what she wished for, but said she had a wonderful birthday. She is now asking how many days until her birthday again. I try telling her to many to count, but she wants to know how many exactly.
Other goings on this week have been Ryder's first tooth appeared on Thursday. No fan fare or tell tale signs. He is constantly chewing on anything that comes close to his mouth. So I am always checking. Much to my surpise when I felt it. Reganne says he can now have candy and toys. On Friday it is candy day at daycare. They can each pick one piece of candy. Reganne quickly picked one for Ryder. "Mom, he has teeth"
Reganne is turning into my little helper. She follows me when I start cooking and wants to see, taste, and stir. Always in that order. Yesterday fixing a salad she was eating the ends of the cucumbers. She got to the stem and started spitting it out telling me that is was yucky. I told her that she could eat around it and she did. She loves to hold Ryder's bottle or try wiping his nose or spit up. He is so patient with her and smiles at her.

Happy Easter Part 2

Well here is Part 2 of our Easter finally. Sunday morning came and they all slept in. Except Reganne of course. She loves to play in their toy room while I am on the computer. Today she is Snow White. Finally, Rylee woke up and we gave them their Easter Baskets. Reganne loved the Candy and Rylee loved the dolls.
We then had to get ready for church. They were excited to where their new dresses. Dave tried to get them to smile for the pictures. Rylee wanted to make scary faces and Reganne wanted to be silly. Dave wanted them to be serious. I told him to take the pictures and we would get the pretty smiley ones later at Kiddie Kandids.

Well we were closer on this one. Ryder has discovered his ear has a whole and his thumb fits nicely in it.
Rylee being scary!!!!!!
Reganne being silly?????
Ryder, saying I have had enough........
It was a wonderful day. I substituted Rylee's primary class again. They sit right behind Reganne's Sunbeam Class. Reganne was up dancing and twirling in her new dress. I finally gave up trying to get her to sit. The next thing I now she is trying to whisper in my ear something that I can't make out. After 4 attempts I finally clued in and she was saying the 1st Article of Faith almost word for word. They have been learning them in Sharing Time. So I had a quick reality check. That even though she looks like she is not listening or learning, she is. I need to have more patience and not to judge as quickly.
We hope that everyone else had a wonderful Easter as well.

Spring Pictures

Here are the smiley and pretty pictures. These pictures were for Rylee's Birthday. I can't believe how big she is getting. This photo shot was amazing. They all smiled at the same time and where happy the whole time. Taking the pictures took 10 minutes, picking the pictures took 10 minutes. Waiting to pick out the pictures to an hour and a half.
Ryder loves to chew on his hands. The girls where trying to hold him and Dave kept pulling his fingers out of his mouth. The photographer kept trying to snap them faster than he could move. Most of the time it worked.
Reganne had to have one of just her. She was feeling left out since it was Rylee's birthday pictures. She even sat still and loved the attention.
Rylee is going to be our model. She loves to pose and hold the props. She loves being the center of the camera.
