Christmas Eve

Time to rise and shine!!! Christmas Eve has finally arrived and it was going to be a day of mixed traditions and even a few new one.

Jammies for everyone
"The Grinch"
Plus a little cash to spend at our next stop.
We are headed to Las Vegas to shop and have lunch out at the Cheesecake Factory.

Reganne's first and only stop.
She found 6 new posters for her walls.
Dave & Ryder found new shoes.  Rylee also found new shoes and they matched.  I was surprised at how not crowded it was at the mall.  Time for lunch!!!

We are hoping that our luck holds hour and not hours to wait.  BAM!!! Only a 5 minute wait.

Sharing an Oreo Milkshake

Crazy family lunch.
Thanks to awesome grades.
Yes, I am exhausted.
This was definitely a fun afternoon.  Time to head home and enjoy the night together.  We drove by the St George Temple for a visit to the nativity.  The temple is closed for renovation the visitors center was still opened and packed.  There was no parking anywhere close.  Rather than mingle with the crowds we headed home to eat treats and watch Christmas movies.

B & C Family Christmas Party

The holiday day season is quickly passing but not before we have party time with family.  We made the trip up north and had great weather.

Waiting for something?

Captured Uncle MkKade

Hanging with family

Morgan being crazy
How many hats can she get to stay on her head?
We had a great time with everyone that could make it.  We missed those that couldn't.  We had yummy food & treats.  What a great way to start Christmas week.  We went to church with Grandma and enjoyed their Christmas program.

Time to head home and enjoy the sun.  It was nice to see it if for only a little while.  Ryder & Dave were starving and required food before we traveled much longer.  Michelson's is now closed so we tried Lisa's down the street.  It was ok but very pricey.  We won't be stopping there on our next trip.

Let's have a fun week.

SRIS Learner of the Month

I received an email for SRIS staff requesting that we attend the Learner of the Month Breakfast in 2 weeks.  Ryder had been nominated for December.  Ryder wasn't sure what this was for and neither did we.  However, they requested parents to attend @ 7:15 am before school started.

The day finally arrived and we were all a little nervous about what was going to happen.  I had specific instructions on what to wear and not to embarrass him with crying or talking to much.  When did he get to be so grown up.  We found Kneaders Breads with juice & milk and taking a seat.  There were 10 other kids along with their parents.

This pictures was
with a sting backpack full of goodies.

This is Ms White
(aka blue haired teacher)
He was a little embarrassed at the attention but his smile was as big & full he was enjoying it.  After the last teacher and student sat down it was time to head to class.  He couldn't be late to band.

We are really proud of him for all his hard work each day in each of his classes.  His willingness to include others in class and be their friend.  He has had a great school year so far.  Bring on winter break.

2nd Quarter DHMS Choir Concert

It is time for another concert from the middle school choirs.  Reganne has been singing non stop for the past week at home.  Call time was at 5:30 which made for a mad dash home pick her up and race to the school.   She made it with a few minutes to spare.  Dave was able to make this performance thank goodness the hospital needed him earlier today and was off by 5:30.

Blurry is the word.
Top row!!

DHMS Treble Singers

These girls sounded amazing.  I am impressed with their hard work and dedication to their music.  They have been selected to perform in February as the opening group for a BYU performance.

2019 IMX Meet

This meet is one that Ryder wishes he didn't have to attend.  He doesn't like swimming at the SHAC.  I am not really sure of his reasoning but he was a good sport and worked hard.  I also worked hard officiating 2 sessions.  This is the one meet that teams come from across the state to participate.  It was going to be a busy weekend.

Waiting for the whistle to blow!!

To fast for my phone.
Caught his just before he left the screen.

Came in 3rd in his heat.

All arms and legs!

More movement!!

It over and I am starving
He swam good, clean events.  I didn't have to DQ him (which I am really glad for).  We believe he improved on all events but we haven't seen the official times posted yet.  Not sure if they will be available before the next meet in a couple of weeks.  He is working hard during practice each day.  Keep your fingers crossed he is trying to qualify for JO's in March.

The next meet is in January.

SRIS Beginning Band Concert

It's that time of year when parents cringe and students smile.  It is the annual Christmas Concerts.  This is a time honored even around the world.  This is our first venture into the band world.  Ryder had practiced over the Thanksgiving weekend and didn't sound to bad at all.  He was a little loud but not really any sour notes.  I was excited to hear their progress since October.

We are ready for the big night.

Finding their seats

This is a big group

You can't see Ryder.
You can see the top of his Baritone.
Look at the ponytail and there he is.

Cute kids
I was left to drive home by myself.

Courtesy of Rylee
She wanted me to have one of him
all by himself.
Ryder informed me that the whole band had only practiced one time before all together and not in the gym.  They only restarted the first song and didn't sound half bad.  You could even make out each song.  Let's see how they sound in 5 years.  I'm sure we will all be amazed.

Hello December...

It is time to decorate!!! This holiday season is going to be a short one so we need to get started.  Thanksgiving morning is the time to string the lights outside.  By Saturday all that is left is inside the house.

Passing the torch.
Ryder was eager to climb the ladder and
do it for Dad.
Who wasn't feeling the best.

Another torch was passed on
tree decorating.
How do we get the angel on top?

Lifting Ryder up?

Done!!!
Ryder on Reganne's shoulders
Rylee helping keep his balance.
They succeed with a great looking tree.  However, they left the mess for me to pickup.  I didn't get the rest of the house done until Saturday.

Who is stealing our lights?

The Grinch!!!
Dave, Reganne, and Ryder created this creature who in turn is stealing from us.  We have had people stop and check him out.  I wish we could take full credit for this idea.  However, we saw this same display a few years ago in another neighborhood.

We are ready to celebrate and have a fun holiday season.
