Oops !!

It was bound to happen!! Club meet and high school meet same day and time but different pools.  High school was headed to Cedar City hosted by CCHS at the rec center.   The 2022 Winter Stampede Championship at UTU was for all qualified club swimmers. Teams from Idaho. Utah, Colorado, and California all descended to compete over the weekend. I must not paid attention to the sign ups or roster but Ryder hadn't qualified in his new age group.  However, I had signed up to officiate in November. Double Oops!!

Dave & Ryder headed to Cedar City. Ryder was excited to gain more driving hours since Dave had promised he could drive up and back. I was headed downtown.

Nice and loud

The club kids.

My favorite Saturday breakfast.
The best part of these meets
is the food of course.
Officials always get fed really well.

I missed hanging out with Ryder for these couple of hours.  Dave followed through with his promise. Ryder was able to drive to Cedar City which gives me another hour.  Driving home wasn't so easy with a crazy snow storm.

I learned a valuable lesson always double or triple check the schedules during high school season. There is always the meet next weekend.

Catching Our Breathe

Let's end the last few days of November with decorating, shopping, and maybe a nap or even 2.

Navajo Tacos
Leftover roll dough makes perfect scones.

Taking a break
The tree is up.
The arguments begin on how to do it this year.

Egg & bacon sandwich

Piper relaxing and in my spot.
I now have to fight 2 to get my spot to relax.

There is a whole lot of decorating, baking, and shopping that still needs to be done.  That won't hold us back in having a good time.

Happy Thanksgiving

We made it back to the house after the cruise around town.  It's time to put the food all together and feed this hungry group.

Yep, that's me!!
I'm always looking for pans & bowls when it comes time to cook.
My greatest fear is finding it full of some unknown liquid.

The newlyweds
All dressed up and ready to eat their 1st or 2nd meal of the day.

Everything is ready
and of course Ryder is first in line.

No surprise!!
Reganne making her turkey sandwich.
One step in the right direction in making it with turkey.

Digging in!!
This year lasted a little longer maybe 20 minutes.

Dessert
Apple & Pumpkin pie
Snicker bars & brownies for those of us that really don't care for pie.

It's now time for a movie and a snuggling up with a blanket and chocolate.  Perfect way to end the day.

Thanksgiving Family Cruise

The turkey is in the oven, the rolls are raising, and the stuffing is in the crockpot.  It's time for the annual Thanksgiving Family Cruise around St George.  Dave & Ryder planned a longer route this year with one more car in the line up. Any guesses who that might be?

Rylee & Ruston
Driving the Corvette

Dave & Grandma
Driving the Hummer

Reganne
Driving the Nova

Ryder & I
Driving the Toyota

If you guessed Ryder, you win.
Ryder has his learner's permit. He is working
hard on his 40 hours required driving.
Lucky me, I get to ride with him for another hour added to his log.

Stopping at the overlook.
From here you can see both temples.

Family picture time.
I think next time we will swap the short for the tall in front.

Everyone back to their cars
Off once again.

Oops, missed Dave & Grandma
they are leading the way.

What a great afternoon for a drive.  Only problem this year was going a little too long and everyone was starved and ready to eat.  Better get back to my kitchen and finish up.  Too bad that once it's ready it only take 20 minutes to devour it.

Just A Glance

At the craziness at our house.  I thought for sure things would slow down over here instead it has picked up. There is only time for glance at a few things that are keeping us busy.

Sunday baking
Homemade granola and hot fudge
Both are really yummy.

Parents meeting
for new high school Career Technology High School
Opening Fall of 2023
Ryder told me about the meeting this morning
Oh, and Mom, I have already submitted my application.

Fruit Pizza
Makeup work for Reganne in Foods 1
Looks can be deceiving.... it tasted awful.

High school swim meet
Guess who was Starter?
I was asked to help out and Ryder wasn't there to give his opinion.
It wasn't that bad.

More Sunday baking
Muddy Buddies and Granola again.
Hopefully, these make it for a couple of days.

It's time to start prepping for Thanksgiving.  We also need to prep for Christmas decorating. I had better eat all my fruits & veggies to survive the next week.

Road Trip

We aren't getting enough swim at home so we are headed to American Fork.  The HAST (Hilltop Aquatic Swim Team) invited our club to participate for a second year. The weather was going to cooperate and we are off.

Mt Timpanogos
Love seeing it all covered in white.

Ryder, Chesney, and Emma

Getting ready for his event.

Cheering for team mates

Koa, Sol, and Ryder
Trying to stay warm and relaxed.
Trying is the operative word when you are at a meet.

It was a good meet with everyone working hard.  Meets are the hardest thing to sit through unless you are busy.  That is why I am usually officiating.  It is time now to head home to get ready for the long work week ahead.

Christmas Adventures

Dave loves to drive around town checking out all the Christmas lights.  We drive through many neighborhoods checking each one out. We were going to expand our exploring a bit to Cedar City.  The bonus points are going to be SNOW!! Everyone piled into the Hummer and we were off.

I refused to be the navigator this trip.
I took the very back seat and let Ruston take mine.

Maybe a little more snow than planned.
The city lights were great.

This one came along for the ride.
She got carsick and promptly threw up
all over everyone.
My coat will never be the same.

The lights were awesome with all the snow falling. However, the same snow made for an adventure heading towards home. Maybe we should have stayed closer to home. I know we need the water but I hate driving in the snow. You can't predict what other drivers will do as they pass by.

High School Swim Season

The kick off meet is 1011 Greg Fernley Invitational at UTU aka Dixie State.  The start time was 4:00 so I wasn't able to officiate tonight.  That was even better being a cheer leader in the stands for his first ever event with the high school.  The stands were crowded we found a place to stand and see all the action.

Waiting for the whistle
200 Yard IM

He makes it look so simple

He came in 1st for this heat.
A gentleman standing next me congratulated us on his great swim.

Breakdown of the swim

Day 2
400 Yard Free Relay

Dang camera
It's either feet, hands, or his butt.

It was a great meet with some amazing talent competed.  I didn't officiate as a high school official instead USA official.  Maybe next week.

Event #2  Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay - 17rh Place - 1:53.30
Event # 6 Boys 200 Yard IM  - 17th Place - 2:18.67
Event #20 Boys 100 Yard Breast - 30th Place - 1:13.44
Event #22 Boys 400 Yard Free Relay - 19th Place - 3:49.89

He did great for his first high school meet.  There is also room for improvement this season. Stay tuned there is a meet every weekend except for holidays.

Craziness Is Just Starting

You wake up on November 1st with a sugar hangover plus the knowledge that the holiday season has been kickstarted. Those two things together makes me want to climb back into bed and sleep to January. Here's to the start of the craziness that is becoming all to normal around here.

Why Oh Why?
Do I keep finding Ryder's socks everywhere I turn?
To make this even crazier it is usually only one sock.
Then he complains that he can't find any clean ones.  I must be losing them in the wash.
Any suggestions?

Ironman Thank You Party
I have never attended one before since I have always volunteered by myself.
Dave wasn't to sure about going. Complaining that it would be weird to just show up.
Ticket for entry was the volunteer bright green shirt.
I begged, bribed, and finally gave up.
He finally relented and we showed up.

Dixie Center
All opened up with so many tables.
Plus swag for everyone.

A whole lot of good food.
So much food in fact there were multiple stations setup around the room.
We ate way to much.
The Ironman Organization was so generous. We will definitely be back next year.

We definitely needed to enjoy the quiet time this week.  There will be no more quiet weekends until February as high school swim is starting and short course club season is in full swing. Time to buckle up for the exhausting ride. Chlorine will be my perfume so don't get too close.

Finally...

We made it to the end Halloween.  The chocolate shortage the media said was really bad didn't make it to St George.  There was plenty but with higher price tags attached.  This was another transition year with kids doing their own things.  Reganne having to work, Ryder hanging out with a large group of friends, and Rylee & Ruston dressing up for a variety of parties.

Zoo Keeper & Bear

BON had a week full of
crazy activities I even won a couple of prizes.

BON Fall Festival
Everyone really gets into the festivities.
These guys were scary.

Reganne made Indy's costume
Not very funny
What was funny she couldn't climb out or even move.

She now has her costume on
She is a bat

Same Zoo Keeper
but now a Cheetah with a little black bat.

Stay Indy!!
Let's get a picture or 5

Not many trick or treaters left plenty of candy for us to eat.  I am ready to fall into bed and sleep until New Year's.  I don't think that is even possible.  Instead I had better double on my Fruits & Veggies if there is any hope of survival for the holiday season.
