Celebrating!!!

Not only is this Rylee's birthday weekend but it is Easter.  Not to be forgotten it's General Conference as well.  We are up for a fun and very busy weekend.  We were unable to celebrate Rylee's birthday on Friday due to the swim meet in Cedar City.  That didn't stop her from celebrating on her own and in her own way.

First flying lesson!!
She is exploring her options of what she wants try in her life.
One option maybe getting her pilots license.
Working out at the airport she has made many contacts that are willing to teach her.
Then help her with the requirements.

Easter Car Show
So many cars this year since they weren't able to have it last year.
Dave & Rylee went together with both cars.
Ryder & I came later to enjoy the sunshine.
Even people watch?

One Easter Basket
for everyone to share.
Sooo much chocolate!!

Conference Sunday = Scones
Another yummy recipe from @Amberskitchen.
No matter how many I make they seem to disappear way too quickly.

Easter Lunch
with the Wheelers.
Once again way too much yummy food.

I enjoy having leftover ham for a couple of days for sandwiches, salads, and scrambled eggs.  This year they didn't last past Monday.

Conference had amazing talks and I love the peace that I feel while listening.  I love it even more when I listen second time online.  This has been an exhausting weekend but great to do things that feel almost normal.

Last Year....

Of being a teenager.  Happy 19th Birthday Rylee!!!  She has had one crazy year graduating from high school in the hight of the pandemic.  Starting college still in the craziness.  How do you deal with constant changes and uncertainty? She has done this by getting up every day and working hard.  Most days have been really hard but she continues to try.

She has many plans to celebrate and have fun.

Present time!!
Reganne bought her yummy smelling candles.
Ryder bought items for her first apartment.

A Comfy!!
We decided to get her one since she is always complaining that its cold
in the house.

You must read the instructions.
Everyone decided they want one as well.
The weather is supposed to be warming up so this might have to wait until next fall to be worn much.
Nope!! she is wearing it to bed every night.

Snickers Cake with one candle.
Now if Dave will let her blow it out and make a wish.

After 10 attempts
she finally got to blow one out.

We wish her a happy birthday and a great year!  Hang on this girl is going to do amazing things.

Long Course Kickoff Meet

Long Course Season is here again and luckily we are still open enough to start the season.  The kids times are all from 2019 which is a long time ago to these growing athletes.  Ryder has been working so hard attending practices each day, trying to eat healthier, and going to be early.

We are excited to travel to Cedar City @ SUU Campus.

All is quiet!!
This pool is so impressive when setup for long course.
It is fun to watch new kids when they walk in and see the size of the pool.

It's a little chilly
still in Cedar City in the mornings.

He is ready to jump in
for the 400 IM

Now time to play.
Easter Egg Drop

Each age group had their turn
gathering as many eggs as possible.

The kids all swam really well.  Not many DQ's which is good for the officials.  However, Ryder made a strange more that I missed while swimming in my lane.  The sun was in his eyes and his flag count was off.  Thus he did a flip turn in the middle of the pool and still finished 1st place in the heat.  He picked the best place in the pool to make a mistake and avoid being DQ'd.

He received a medal or ribbon for each event.

This is only the first meet of this season.  We are excited to see his progress in the coming months.  His goal is to make it to the state championships in July.

Another Week Bites the Dust!!

Just when you believe its going to be a quiet week BAM!!! things start to change.

Student of the Month
Ryder for 7th Grade PE
Coach Jensen selected him for his determination and never gives up.

Relief Society Birthday Party
Gather outside by a fire pit or in our case a fireplace.

The presidency brought over some yummy food.
and decorations.
It was fun visiting with the ladies in our ward.
It also got a little chilly so thank goodness for the fires.

Easter Message from
the Jehovah Witness Church.
"Bob" they definitely don't know Dave & I.

Car show season is starting.
First one across town at Boz Auto Parts.
Give aways, free food, and plenty of sunshine.

These 2 are in heaven
surrounded by cars.

Another try!!
Walmart Bread
It tastes yummy served warm with butter.
You must knead this for the whole 15 minutes for it to be light & fluffy.
BIG!!! reminder keep an eye on the mixer at all times.
The Kitchen Aid took a walk off the counter. Landed on it's side and kept right on kneading away.

This next week is going to be even busier.  Everyone stay safe.

Getting Along?

The dogs are slowing getting along.  I hear some growling and a few barks.  I am prepared for the worst.  Much to my surprise Piper & Dexter are playing together.  Each one trying to take the other down.

Just when you think he is down.
Dexter pops right back up for another round.

We definitely need to run off the puppy energy that builds up on Sundays.  We have tried the soccer parks since the schools all lock their playgrounds up.  No fences means high anxiety in keeping them were they should be.  This week the fenced in yard was available.  It was a little muddy but nothing that dogs don't enjoy.

Let's explore!!!

Dave perfecting his throw.
They loved running, exploring, and maybe bringing the ball back.
In less than 30 minutes they are worn out.
Everyone came home and found a sunny spot to take a nap.

Another try!!
Ryder couldn't wait any longer for it to cool down.
I didn't kneed this one enough it was really heavy.
I will give it another try next week.

Another picture
of team work.

It was a fun week full of adventures.  If this keeps up we might actually turn into fun people and not boring COVID adults.

Getting Out!!

Due to COVID we were unable to use a Christmas gift from the Wheelers last year.  Tuacahn reached out that the show had been rescheduled the show in March.  We were all very skeptical that the show would go on so we forgot all about it.

SURPRISE!!! the show is definitely on!!!  We are headed to see Bill Engvall!!! It is a sold out show with masks required unless eating.

Perfect weather

Full house
with Masks of course.

Star of the show!!!
We haven't laughed this hard in over a year at least. He put on a clean show that had the audience was holding their sides from all the laughter.  My glasses kept fogging up making it difficult to see at some points.  I appreciated that I could take the kids and not be embarrassed.

Working together

On our way home I received this picture on my phone.  We having amazing boys that work together and help out where ever they can.  They are always willing to help anyone who needs them.  They maybe only 13 but they do amazing things together.
