Ironman World Championship

This is the big one that has always been held in Hawaii.  However, after 2 years of restrictions, closures, and just plain weirdness the show must go one.  The decision was made to move it to St George where the World Championship 1/2 Ironman was held in September.

They once again needed many volunteers to help out of the week long event.  We had the opportunity to volunteer for our swim club.

Volunteer Food Tent
It was hot!!
The food was good Chick-Fil-A

This is the bike catcher area
All prepared for tomorrow.

Early morning instructions
Prepping for all the athlete that are on their way.

T2 Transition Area
Watch your step the bikes will start flying
shortly.

Athlete & Spectators
Relax on the grass and enjoy the show on the
big screen.  It was being broadcast live on Peacock.

VIP Lounge
My 2nd area to volunteer at.
This was at the finish line for all the pro athletes to rest,
eat, and unwind after a grueling event.
I even talked to a few.  The team from Finland were really fun.

Mo Beta's
Another great meal for the volunteers.

Thank You!!
This band was handed out to all of the athletes on day one.
The goal was to give to a volunteer that they felt like was doing a great job.
I received one from a nervous athlete trying to figure how this area worked.
I later found out the story behind the bands.  I was surprised that she gave it to me.

Ironman Swag
My last area was the Doping Area.
I had to make sure that the bathrooms in the area stayed secure.
The Ironman Staff were grateful that we stayed and helped them out.
They brought hats, visors, towels for us to have.
I am not sure that my family appreciated what I brought home or not.

It was a crazy busy weekend and town was packed.  It was also a great weekend to learn about this crazy sport and all of the athletes.  They are all really friendly and excited to be here.  I even met both men's & women's champions.  I had a great time and maybe see them all again in the Fall.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

It was a day full of surprises!  I wasn't sure what to expect since it's also Star Wars Day.  Arriving at work I discovered that my area had been decorated by none other than Rylee & Ruston.

Can you find the balloons in all the mess?
I really need to get better at keeping my area clean.
I forgot about an issue with balloons with a co-worker.
We quickly gathered them up for kids to have fun later.

Roses &  Starlight Coke
Everyone spoiled me
Rylee & Ruston decorated my work space.
Reganne took everyone to dinner.
Ryder bought me a Starlight Coke (tastes like cotton candy)  & large KitKat
Dave bought flowers

Here's to another year full of adventures!!  Hopefully, I am ready.

April Round Up

I discovered the lack of pictures taken in April.  Not sure what happened other than being crazy busy or just plan boring.

Easter Car Show
Everyone was working so Dave & I decided to go and enjoy.

Is he dreaming or plotting
on how to get a new car.
The weather was perfect for a car show.

The weather still is perfect
for dinner outside.
Dave was in heaven using his kitchen
and watching his favorite shows.

Time for Sunday Dinner
Everyone loves what his cooks outside.
Yummy food and an easy clean up.

We have to have a schedule the backyard.
The kids have discovered its a great place to have
fun with their friends.
Rylee had a girls night "Painting with Bob Ross"
There was a lot laughing and their pictures turned out pretty awesome.

Saying good bye to April means that the busiest month of the year is here.  Time to buckle up and hang on for the ride called May.

Weird Spring Weather

The past year all we hear is about the drought how bad it is and how much worse it will get.  Spring is always weird and unpredictable here in Utah.  We have a chance this week for moisture and everyone is a buzz about how much and where will it hit.

Springville got snow
Courtesy of Grandma JeanAnn.

We got mud!!!
The wind + rain = mud
It made a mess of everything in its path.
This is also the only time that more car washes would have been nice.
The lines were longer than Starbucks, DutchBros, and even Swig.

Odds & Ends - April 1 to April 10th

I love the crazy pictures that are shared with me through out the week.

Where are you?
In class, see
Power School can be a curse or a blessing?
It chimes in when the kids are marked tardy or absent.
Reganne was once again late for Fashion Design.  She made it and that is what counts?
Right? Mom.

MacPherson Family + Grandma
Heading to Florida for a Spring Break Cruise.
A few detours before making it and had a great time.

Toes
Love the pedicure Rylee talked Ruston on getting
for her birthday.

Sunday baking
Tried these yummy bars and perfect for breakfast.
Ryder requested next time a little less chocolate on top.

Here's to another week ahead of us.  What adventures will be in store?

Rylee & Ruston Road Trip

Rylee fresh off her birthday celebrations had planned a road trip to California to meet some of her birth family.  We knew this day would come and were very excited about this road trip.  They were very busy with their new adventure.  They sent me a few picture...

This is where they stayed

I think Ruston is exhausted
from the long drive.

Rylee & Reanne

Rylee with a few of her siblings

Fun gift from Reanne
Once again finding Reganne's name spelled the
same way is impossible.

They made it home from the long road trip full of stories and adventures.  I was exhausted just hearing about all the places they went and people they saw.  Hopefully there will be more visits with extended family.

Happy Birthday Rylee!!!

Welcoming in April means that Rylee's birthday brings in the month.  This is a big year she is no longer a teenager.  The big 20!!!

Official Picture
that I am allowed to share on all social media.

This is the last official teenage picture.
I had to grab it quickly before she changes her mind.

The sassiness
is not going anywhere.

Hamburger Casserole
Dinner of choice this year.
Not going out to celebrate.
Kind of nice to celebrate at home without all the crowds.

Birthday Pedicures
She even got Ruston to participate.
Love the butterflies.

Cookie Dough Birthday Cake
We didn't have 20 candles on there.
More than this would have melted the cake.

It was fun finding the time to celebrate this beautiful girl for her birthday week.  Yes, I did say a week.  She loves to celebrate her birthday for as long as she can.  If we aren't careful she will make it a month.

We love this girl forever and always!!! We are also excited for her many adventures she is planning over this next year.

Another Swim Meet

Another large meet is coming to town Western & Pacific Senior Zones.  This meet is a 5 day meet with prelims in the morning and finals at night.  This year they are only offering fundraising everything but officials.  These slots were quickly filling up.  Ryder & I snagged spots on Wednesday & Thursday nights.  This left me open to officiate on Friday & Saturday where the numbers were lower.

Security Marshall
Job description:  Swimmers & Spectators apart in the stands.
Stand at the top and direct people on where to go.
Not so bad.  Except the volunteers feeding everyone forgot all about me.  This would be Ryder.  His reply was Sorry Mom.  Let's get food!!!

I like this view!!
Easy to see the swimmers.
Tonight I was stationed downstairs by the locker rooms.
Walk through the women's locker rooms and make sure everything was good.
No fighting, teasing, or bullying to be found.

Friday & Saturday I was back on deck.  There were new people to meet and old friends to hand out with.  I am amazed at how far some of them travel to volunteer.  I am pretty sure this won't be me when Ryder is finished.

It's the Weekend!!!

Time to catch up or maybe relax and hang out with family?  I think the last option is what I will definitely pick.  First things first I have to get groceries.  Ryder's swim team added another practice for Saturday Mornings @ 6:00 am.  Yep no sleeping in for me instead a trip to Walmart.

This might be the perfect time
to avoid the crowds and crazies.

Rylee decided a road trip is what she needed.
Visiting Johnnie put a smile on her face.

Birthday Lunch with
Mom & Dave
Chef Hogs has some great food
but the view and outdoor seating was even better.

Rachel MacPherson's
Dance Competition @ DHHS
There where a whole lot of teams running around the school
They were all amazing!!
Thank Goodness I do swim were the rules are clear.  Judging dancing would be so much harder.

Beautiful Day
on the Arizona Strip
The dogs were dying for run outside in the fresh air.

Boy can she move!!
She leaps & jumps when let loose.

They are tired!!!
It is a perfect afternoon.

Time for some food and a quick nap before family dinner.
