Highlights of the Week

October has been an exhausting month and we haven't even made to Halloween yet.  This week is no exception for craziness.

Animal Science
Reganne was excited for some hands on learning.

Positive Thoughts
Spreading the positive with those around us.

What the heck?
This suit will not fit me!!
Coach Mike told us to buy Ryder's next suit in a size 22.
This will cut back on drag and help him move smoothly through the water.
Long story short it didn't fit we returned it for the next size up.
Let's hope that it will fit him.

What time is it?
It's Ironman time once again in St George.

Check out all the bags
Great to see people back for this one.
Even better being remembered for working hard.

Partner in crime today.

Let's have some fun!!
The athletes started rolling in and the fun began.
The remaining 3 hours flew by.

Exhausted is the word of the week and we aren't slowing down anytime soon.

2022 SUSA Spooktacular Swim Meet

Practices have been gearing up for the next meet and for the start of high school swim.  Each practice has been geared towards perfecting each stroke. I am amazed at how they break each stroke down over and over again. They then put everything back together with obvious improvements.

Meet & show time..

Everything is slowly
coming to life on deck.

Check out those back muscles

Flip turns

Wow!! everyone did so well and not many DQ's this time around.  It looked like everyone was having a good time. Even better was the cheering and screaming for each other. They are starting to build up their stamina for the next 4 months of the high school season.

#4 Mixed 13&O 100 Yard Breast - 1:13.87 - 5th Place
#12 Mixed 13&O 100 Yard Back - 1:04.79 - 4th Place
#15 Mixed 500 Yard Free - 5:48.01 - 8th Place
#17 Mixed 11&O 200 Yard Back - 2:18.85 - 3rd Place
#29 Mixed 11&O 400 Yard IM - 4:57.64 - 2nd Place
#30 Mixed 12&O 1650 Yard Free - 20:48.77 - 5th Place

Someone wasn't pay attention when scheduling what his events were to be.  Back to back events is a cruel trick to play on anyone.  Ryder rose to the challenge of events 29 & 30 cut time on both. Able to walk out of the rec center on his own power.  The someone apologized and was extremely impressed at his performance.

Now he is starving and geting very hangry.

Happy Birthday Dave!!

Everyone made it home just in time to celebrate Dave's birthday.  When I asked what he wanted to do the quick reply was sleep.  No special request or even going out.  I knew he was exhausted.  He never misses a chance to eat out.

Yummy dinner of steak & potatoes

Gifts from all the kids

Ice cream birthday cake
It didn't look to good but tasted yummy.
I am going to try making another one really soon.

He did have a fun filled and stressful weekend.  We were all glad to let him sleep as much as he wanted to.  Let's hope this next year is a good one for him.  He deserves it.

Weekend Fun

The newlyweds are still out of town on their honeymoon.  We are going to have ourselves an adventure as well. Ryder had just the one for him & Dave to California for a day trip. Dave bought the plane tickets. Ryder bought the tickets to the Peterson Automotive Museum.  He also found the Uber. They set off bright and early to Las Vegas.

What a view?
Ryder snapped this from the window seat.

Can you get a bigger smile?
Ryder & Dave were in heaven amid all the cars.

This one maybe bigger.
The car is huge.

Girl Date with Reganne
Lunch at Costa Vida

Shopping at Petco.
Who would have guessed we were shopping
for crickets.
Yuck!! her geckos needed to eat.

The girls date was an adventure that I am not sure I want to try again.  I hate seeing good money spent on bugs of any type.  Food or not!!

The boys adventure turned into a nightmare when the weather turned south in Las Vegas.  They got back to the airport early in hopes of catching an earlier flight.  Luck would have it that all flights were delayed due to the weather.  Arrival time was supposed to be around 8:00 pm.  They finally touched down around midnight.  There was still a two hour drive home through the gorge plus construction.  Ryder clocked some drive time through the gorge thanks to Dave being tires.

Everyone had a great adventures with many stories to share.  Let's hope the honeymooners are having their own adventures.

Not A Normal Week

After so much celebrating we received the news that Kim, Grandpa Chris' daughter and my friend growing up passed away from breast cancer.  Dave & I headed to Springville to go with grandma.

A nice day
for a sad event.

Many family members
and friends came to pay their respects.

We headed back home afterwards to finish out the week.  Our house is in desperate need for some attention and cleaning. Saturday was so nice that I opened up the doors for fresh air.  Let the dogs out to play for awhile as I started cleaning up the basement.

What??
Who opened the door?

Busted!
Indy figured out that if she hit the door with nose just right.
POP!! it opens enough to let them inside.
If she had thumbs we would be in real trouble.

Ryder's lunch
Look at what I had for lunch.
Cheese Curd Hamburger
Sorry, but it looks nasty.

New shoes
So comfy and not slide
These will be perfect for being on deck.
High school swim is getting ready to start.
Ryder & Dave chimed in that they looked to big.
Almost like cartoon feet.

I do believe that everyone is exhausted after at tough week.  Thankfully, there was moments of laughter and fun during the harder times.  I look forward to a long nap tomorrow after church.

Let the Honeymoon Begin

They are off on their once in a lifetime honeymoon trip to Greece.  Thank you Uncle Randy for giving them lots of tips, tricks, and more info to make their trip a success. We all headed to Las Vegas to drop them off.

They are ready to have fun
and find some time to relax.

Ryder demanded a hug as well.

Random pictures
from Greece

Random picture of Indy
requested by Rylee.
Proof that we didn't let her loose.

Acropolis
Now I am really jealous.

Wish we were there.

This looks amazing both

Car ride with Reganne

Rylee loved her milk

Ruston's new drink

I do believe they had an amazing time traveling through Greece and Germany.  Listening to their plans for future travel makes me a little jealous to be young and free again. Indy was excited to see them at first.  Then turned into a tiny terror which we are hoping our house survives.

The Day After

Nobody plans for the day after any big events in our lives.  All I wanted to do was sleep and relax.  Everyone else has other plans for this beautiful Saturday in October.  Grandma headed to Las Vegas with Randy to watch the BYU football game at Raider's Stadium.  Reganne headed to work.  The house was slowly quietly relaxing.

Until the newlyweds showed up with big plans to take all their friends to the lake to hang out and have fun.  First of the wedding gifts were calling to Ruston to open me, open me!!

Abby jumped into help.
Everyone was so good to them.

They loved everything they received
and so thankful that so many people loved them enough
to come and spoil them.

Miss Indy
Was right by their sides sensing that
something was going on.
She wasn't going to let them leave her out.

They left for the lake with all the leftover doughnuts to feed all the growing boys.  We decided to take Bryan & Abby to Snow Canyon for some hiking and sunshine.

Beautiful views
Lava beds

Checking out the view
and maybe sharing a few stories.

Miss Abby
She was always eager for an adventure where ever we went.
I do believe we wore her out by the afternoon.
Maybe not her but us instead.

Wedding Leftovers!!
Walking into the house that still looked like
a wedding threw up is not stress free.
What to do with all the stuff??
I'm not sure what Rylee has planned for the leftovers.

It is now nap time before dinner and clean up.  Maybe just a nap!!
