W&W Camp Out 2016

This year's camp out was in serious jeopardy due to forest fires & drones.  After Memorial Day's many rain & lightening storms welcomed fire season.  The Saddleback Fire started near Pine Valley.  Everyone was certain that it would be out within a couple of weeks.  This was not to be due to local Drones flying around grounding helicopters dropping water on the fire.  There were even evacuations from all of the camp grounds and the town.

We tried coming up with Plans B, C, and D.  None sounded as fun as Pine Valley.  Then on Monday the Forest Service announced the camp grounds would open again on Friday.  We were in luck!!!

We were ready to get out of town and enjoy the cooler temperatures.

Ryder was ready to play
Reganne wanted inspiration for her drawings,

King of the World!!!
Standing on a Dinosaur Egg.

More scenery...It was almost a full moon tonight.

Someone is very tired after a very busy day.

He slept great and was full of energy to explore.
He was ready to play card games.  He collected packs of
cards all year so he would have enough for
everyone to play together.

The butterscotch trees are still there.
They have survived another long year.
New camping game...Uno Attack
It was a crowd favorite for the day.  Even without the instructions.

All the kids playing football together.
It was pretty rough for them without their electronics.
They actually got along and had fun.
Jacy & Spencer
This was our first year with a plus one.  He fit right in with the group.
The kids all invited him back next year.

Dinner Time!!!
Yummy Dutch Oven Potatoes, Chicken, and Hot Dogs.
Something for everyone and no leftovers.

The kids started freaking out there was a bee flying around
Dave's Tupperware Day-Glo Water Bottle.
Ryder claimed it was an Alaskan Red Bottom Bee, very poison.
WHAT!!!!!
Mom that's was I learned on Henry Danger (Nickelodeon)

Time for Dessert
PEEPS!!!!
One again they didn't disappoint us.  It was great to have a camp fire for our last night and enjoy the gooey treat that has become our tradition.

After a good night sleep it was time to head home and back to the heat.  The dogs must have barked most of the night.  We had a text message that they were still noisy at 10:00.  Dang dogs missed us or rather missed their soft beds and wanted inside.

We had a great time and maybe we will sneak another trip in when it cools down closer to home.

Time for Culture

We can always use more and with Tuacahn Theater in our backyard it is a must.  We have summer season tickets this year.  The first show is Peter Pan and show time was 8:45.  I wasn't sure how well Ryder would do since it doesn't stay up much past 9:00.

We found our seats and luck was on our side we had aisle seats. Then the crowds started filing in and I became nervous.  High school kids started filling the seats in front of us.  The lady beside me had her fan and bluetooth earpiece.

Thank goodness I don't take up much room.
That was my seat between Dave and the fan.

Pre-show picture
The lights dimmed and with that came the people behind me.  An older lady and 3 younger ones.  The high school kids were quiet and very respectful.  The 4 ladies behind me were worse than three year olds.  I had ice dropped down my back, Their purses knocking me upside the head.  The icing on the cake was the older one started singing (not quietly) along with the show.

Ryder got sleepy and climbed on Dave's lap to sleep.  Just as his eyes closed the cannon went off announcing Captain Hook.

It was a good show, the cast did an amazing job.  It was rather long with us not getting home until after 11:30.  Everyone was tired and a little cranky Tuesday morning.

Tarzan is next up.  Hopefully the show will start a little earlier.

Waters' Sports Update....Last Chance Meet

Ryder has been working so hard during the week at swim team practices.  The Last Chance Swim Meet was time to shine.  Once again sign in time was 7:00 am and he was ready to go.

2 races...Backstroke & Freestyle
He gave up his spot on the relay to another member of his team
who begged him.

Hi Mom!!!
You have to watch!!!

Waiting for the whistle.
They were off...

He took 5th place

Freestyle Race
I am getting a little better with the action shots.

He took 4th place on this one

It was all smiles that he was finished.  We were proud of him for doing his best and showing improvement.  It was way too hot to stay to the end 102 degrees by the pool.  Thank goodness the next meet will be inside.

Time to eat and take a nap.

Time For Fireworks...

And a concert.  Sawyer Brown is back in town and it was time to have a party.  However, it's been awhile since their last visit and the kids weren't sure it was the place to be.  We were lucky enough to get tickets for dinner before the show.  Since it was still over 105 deg  Noree we were all in.  It was even better it was inside the basketball arena and down on the court.  Dickey's serviced an awesome meal with ac and plenty to drink.

Time to head back outside to the football stadium.  We found a perfect spot down on the turf field front and center.

Time to wait and play cards

Wait some more.
This boy was tired and really sleepy.

The show was one.
Mom he dances funny...like the 80's
Even more amazing Mark Miller still has all his moves  but no hair.

Sisters having fun...I think??

It was a great show with a great firework show afterwards.  The dogs didn't tear too much up when we got home.  The show wasn't over yet the neighbors still needed to blow off steam.  We had another show until midnight.

Happy Birthday America!!!!  Let's hope this next year is a better one.

Happy 4th of July

And water go together.  It was back to the lake for us to test out Dave's theory of what was wrong with the boat.  It sounded great and the kids were ready to pickup right where we left off.

Tubing Time!!!

It was warm!!!
I wanted a piece of the action.

The rides were over, but the kids weren't ready yet.

Maybe we had better get off.

2 out of 3 listened

I changed my mind
Let's go again.

The lake was getting busy and once again the boat started acting up.  Maybe it is time to get another opinion of what is wrong.

We had a great morning playing and cooling off.  Let's have lunch and get ready for the fireworks tonight.

Popers!!!!

It's the 4th of July weekend and you have to have fireworks of some sort.  Our neighborhood always has a good show for the 3 days before and the 3 days afterwards.  We settle for only poppers and only after Ryder begs.

Ryder even begs Rylee to come and throw down a box.
So far so good.

I can torment this sisters!!!

Oops!!!
Dad is coming to have some fun.
Ryder decided he didn't like having Dad tease and torment him so off he ran.  The poppers ran out rather quickly when you throw handfuls.  10:00 arrives and the neighborhood goes up in flames.

It's A Long Weekend

Time to head fro the lake and get in some Waters' Family Time.  Our first time on the lake this summer and everyone was ready to get wet.

Get Ready!!!

Get Set!!!

Go!!!
Watch us fly across the lake.

Thumbs up!!!
The water is perfect.
After swimming for a few minutes it was time for some serious business....Knee boarding.

First up Ryder
He kept on trying until he finally made it.

Rylee taking her turn.
She kept on working until she popped right up.
She was awesome!!

Tube Time!!!
The water turned choppy which is perfect only for tubing.  The kids were up to the challenge.  Dave was ready to catch some air.

Everyone was pooped and ready for lunch.  The boat was pooped to and started to act up.  We made it back to the dock with many prayers of help and thanks.  Dave took the challenge when we got home and started working.

Odd & Ends Pictures

After a couple of busy weeks and computer glitches we are back online and in business.  These pictures would normally have their own post but I am getting further behind let's combine the craziness that is our life.

The first Saturday in months was free with nothing on the calendar.  I asked the question of what to do?  Those questions shouldn't be asked because the answer may scare you.  Dave had plenty of plans to keep us busy all day.  Getting the van washed was number one.  Ryder & I wanted a treat while we waited.  The Slurpee machine wasn't working or so I thought....

It expanded right out of the cup
up and over the top.
Clean up was in order.

What do you do when your bed goes to the dogs?

You take over their bed.
Ryder loves to have both dogs sleep in his room.  After a good nights sleep I opened his door and imagine my surprise when I found him sleeping in Ginger's bed.  He even said it wasn't that bad.

Soccer is no longer around the corner but right in front of our faces.  We were afraid there wouldn't be enough girls for the team.  Surprise!!!! we had 18 girls show up.  It might be alright after all.

Fancy foot work during drills

How does she stay standing?

It was a good night to soccer.  Now it's time to take a break until after the holiday.

We still a lot of things on the schedule time to get busy getting caught up again.

Please stay tuned for more updates.
