W&W Camp Out 2016

This year's camp out was in serious jeopardy due to forest fires & drones.  After Memorial Day's many rain & lightening storms welcomed fire season.  The Saddleback Fire started near Pine Valley.  Everyone was certain that it would be out within a couple of weeks.  This was not to be due to local Drones flying around grounding helicopters dropping water on the fire.  There were even evacuations from all of the camp grounds and the town.

We tried coming up with Plans B, C, and D.  None sounded as fun as Pine Valley.  Then on Monday the Forest Service announced the camp grounds would open again on Friday.  We were in luck!!!

We were ready to get out of town and enjoy the cooler temperatures.

Ryder was ready to play
Reganne wanted inspiration for her drawings,

King of the World!!!
Standing on a Dinosaur Egg.

More scenery...It was almost a full moon tonight.

Someone is very tired after a very busy day.

He slept great and was full of energy to explore.
He was ready to play card games.  He collected packs of
cards all year so he would have enough for
everyone to play together.

The butterscotch trees are still there.
They have survived another long year.
New camping game...Uno Attack
It was a crowd favorite for the day.  Even without the instructions.

All the kids playing football together.
It was pretty rough for them without their electronics.
They actually got along and had fun.
Jacy & Spencer
This was our first year with a plus one.  He fit right in with the group.
The kids all invited him back next year.

Dinner Time!!!
Yummy Dutch Oven Potatoes, Chicken, and Hot Dogs.
Something for everyone and no leftovers.

The kids started freaking out there was a bee flying around
Dave's Tupperware Day-Glo Water Bottle.
Ryder claimed it was an Alaskan Red Bottom Bee, very poison.
WHAT!!!!!
Mom that's was I learned on Henry Danger (Nickelodeon)

Time for Dessert
PEEPS!!!!
One again they didn't disappoint us.  It was great to have a camp fire for our last night and enjoy the gooey treat that has become our tradition.

After a good night sleep it was time to head home and back to the heat.  The dogs must have barked most of the night.  We had a text message that they were still noisy at 10:00.  Dang dogs missed us or rather missed their soft beds and wanted inside.

We had a great time and maybe we will sneak another trip in when it cools down closer to home.
