Who is Stronger?

Ginger loves to play tug of war all the time.  Her main problem is getting someone to play with her.  Dexter will play for awhile and he refuses to give up.  Ginger soon loses interest and starts looking for another opponent.  After a couple of hours the ropes are shredded, the toys have lost all their stuffing, what is left for her to play with?

A mini tire that she got for Christmas.  She loves to carry it around the house with her nose thru the whole.  As she carries it around looking with hopeful eyes for someone to play with her.

Dave was up for the challenge.....

Round One...
Pretty equal not much strain on Dave's part.

Round Two...
More resistance and dead weight.
Soon followed by Dexter barking and growling at both of them to stop.  Dave dug in his heels and Ginger dug her claws into the carpet.  Who would let go first???

Dave let go and Ginger stumbled backwards with the tire grasped firmly in her mouth.  Dexter still barking soon tried to grab it but Ginger trotted off to hide it for another day.  She then came back without it and laid down to take a nap.

A rematch will happen but as of yet nothing is scheduled.

Cleaning Assignment

Our ward as the assignment this year to clean the church every Saturday.  Our turn arrived the last Saturday of February.  I reminded everyone that we would all be going together and do our part.  A couple of weeks before nobody showed up.  I told the kids that if everyone pitched in we would be done early and could enjoy the rest of the day.

Surprise every family showed up and quickly got to work.  The kids paired up with their friends and Dave & I paired up with some of the younger kids.  Everyone vacuumed, polished, scrubbed, encouraged, and even joked about the jobs left to do.

What's left?
We finished much quicker than I imagined.  35 minutes to be exact and before the drudgery could set in.

Dave had a surprise for the kids for not complaining and working together.

Yummy Donuts...
A quick stop to wash the van and then it was time for Daylight Donuts.  They were quickly devoured and enjoyed by all.

We now have another month before we have the assignment again.  How lucky we are to be able to give service and have fun at the same time.

Delicious & Dangerous

Who could pass up trying the new Oreo's?  Not me of course when I found them at Walmart.  Could I get anyone to give them a try?  Before I knew it the package was 1/2 gone.

The verdict?  The kids they are way to sweet.  Dave said just like eating a sugar cookie.  After a couple I was hooked.

However, I hadn't seen the reports of what happens after you eat them.  I only found out for myself afterwards.  The first side effect is a pink tongue.  A HOT Pink tongue!!!  The other side effect is to delicate to describe but all the reports out there are not exaggerating the final result.  After 24 hours the evidence is gone.

Can we roast these?  Will they stay fresh until July? Should I buy more? Too many questions for now only time will tell.

DHMS School Play

Rylee surprised us all by auditioning for the school play after Christmas Break.  She couldn't contain her excitement being involved once again with all things theater.  She did get the part she auditioned for but that included all the lines she needed to memorize.  Thank goodness the performance with 6 weeks away.

Speed forward 6 weeks later to opening night.  There were a few nerves and some anxiety but everyone said she did awesome.  There were a few technical glitches and everyone survived.

Friday was the night we picked to go and we couldn't wait for show time.  The theater slowly filled up with parents, grandparents, and friends supporting each other.

Being patient with Mom's phone.
The evil eye didn't even phase her.
The hero's sidekick.

Maybe solving the crime...Where's the villain?
Oops!!! that's him in the white hat.

Applause and final curtain call.

Hanging with friends
enjoying rootbeer floats and crazy friends.

The kids did a great job most of them having been performing together since 6th Grade.  They have all really grown and developed some amazing skills.  Mr Robinson has been a great teacher for Rylee helping her gain confidence in her abilities and creating a safe place to go every day it needed.

Let's hope she continues to develop this amazing gift she has.

More President's Weekend Fun

We were so excited to have company for the rest of long weekend.  Randy, Janelle, and the kids came to enjoy the fun in the sun of St George.  We could still have fun but the sun was not going to happen this weekend.  They arrived just in time for dinner.  We left the kids home with the teenagers to eat pizza and the adults went out steak.

Digging in

Not much talking instead devouring
all the pizza
Good Morning!!!
Couldn't help smiling back at him.

Mom!!! Look what I found.
Can I keep it?
The other kids were to busy running around to snap any pictures.  The late nights fully of chatter, giggles, and maybe a few screams thrown in.

Playing with the dogs.
Thanks goodness Ginger was a good sport about all
the attention.
Lunch out before leaving town.
Waiting for our food.....

Rylee & Kason
Sharing her corn dog stick.
Oops!!! He found the fry sauce.
Thank goodness it was a small cup so
he couldn't dive in.
Rylee was really grossed out by the mess.
She quickly jumped in with both hands and napkins.
She found the a clean baby was more kissable than a dirty one.

Everyone was full and happy
We hope everyone had a great time together.  Ryder enjoyed having the boys to play with.  His sisters don't enjoy playing with him and would rather ignore him.  We hope they come back real soon or maybe we need to make a trip North to visit them.

2017 Rage Tournament

President's weekend means two things around our house.  The kids get a 3 day weekend so no school on Monday.  The other is the Rage Soccer Tournament and with multiple games scheduled come rain, shine, or even wind.  There would be no cancelling games due to weather so game on.....

Friday night we all froze from the wind and wet field.  The rain luckily stopped an hour before. Reganne played keeper once again and the team tried to find the team groove.  The final score was 6 to zero.

Game 2 was Saturday and there was a break in the rain.  The team they were playing today was from Springville where bad weather doesn't cause any problems.  Reganne was going to play defender and leave the keeper job to Lucky.

And the rain came.....

And came.....

Drenched.....
They played their hearts out but lost 3 to zero.  On the way to the car I asked the girls how it was to play in the rain & mud.  IT WAS FUN!!!

The third and final game we headed back to the fields at Riverside Elementary.  It was still rather wet but no rain.  The girls were eager to warm up and keep warm.  Reganne was going to be keeper again which she was fine with.  The team they were playing was from Logan so once again the cold didn't stop them at all.  The girls couldn't catch a break to score but they didn't give up.  The score was 7 to zero.  She had 24 attempts on her.  We were so proud of her and her determination to play and do her best no matter what.

These were good games for the girls.  Once again we have 5 new players with 3 never having played before this weekend.  Hopefully, with a lot of practice and good team work they can gel as a team and have fun this season.

Time to warm up and hang out with family the rest of the weekend.
