Modules Swim Meet

Fall Modules came to an end with the Modules Swim Meet at the WCCC. Ryder has worked really hard on his skills these past couple of months. This was going to be an early morning meet and Ryder was eager to get it started.

List of Races

Organized Chaos
Warm ups & stretching

First Race....50 Meter Free Style

Change of schedule
50 Meter Back Stroke

25 Meter Free Style

He swam each of his heats really well coming in First, Second, and First places.  He came in 13th Place Overall with a personal best on the 50 Meter Free Style.  It amazes us how much he has grown over the last eight weeks and that he continues to be excited about swimming.

Winter Module is a week away and he can't wait to get back in the pool.  Hopefully, we can all survive this next week and all his energy away from the pool.

Super Moon

The arrival of the Super Moon was highly anticipated in the news and at our house.  2 out of 3 kids studying space and all it's parts this was an event not to be missed.  Which we almost did until Reganne ran outside with the camera.  She wanted to capture it in all its glory.

Close up and personal
From a distance

She proved me wrong with these pictures.  If we have any doubts what they are teaching in her science class each day they can be laid to rest.  Ryder tagged along and shared his knowledge of the skies with everyone.

I love the spontaneity of their eagerness to share all things they learn.  Who knows when I might learn something new.

Simple Saturday.....

It seems that our Saturdays are always full of errands, sports, and friends.  However, this Saturday there were no sports and plenty of errands.  I took a break and headed outside to check on Ryder and the dogs.  Ryder quickly showed me the jungle gym and all the fun stuff he could do on it.

Howling at the morning sun.
I had to remind him that the neighbors were still asleep.

Watch me swing from the slide.

Teaching Ginger a new trick.
Climbing a ladder and the sliding down on the slide.

I had no idea that dogs could actually do that, but she loved following Ryder around the yard.

Lunch time
Ryder just couldn't resist climbing in the
old fire truck.

It was a somewhat relaxing day without deadlines or schedules.  Who knew we would be wearing shorts and flip flops in November.  Now if we could only keep the time the same and do away with either Daylight Savings or Standard Time.

Most of us are ready to end the day at 7 when it gets really dark. We do have a couple of rebels that aren't ready to call it a night until 10.  I end up staying up later after begging, pleading, and maybe a few threats for those rebels to go to bed.  Hopefully, this week will be easier.

Sixth Grade Star Party

The Sixth Graders have just finished learning about the Solar System and it was time now for some hands on learning.  The school parking lot was full we were running a little behind since I had to convince Reganne that she would have fun and get extra credit.

She needed to sign in first and she soon linked up with her friends.  She was gone running, playing, and giggling with a whole pack of girls.  The last stop of the night was the telescopes setup in the dark parking lot.  They waited patiently in the long line.  One line showed the moon very clearly even the craters.  They all loved it and ran off to look thru the other ones.

The party came to and end but the smiles remained and so did the crafts they made.  Reganne had fun playing with her gravity ball that was until Ginger grabbed it and claimed it for her own.  Slim and all.

Puppy Pampering

The dogs were in much need of a lot of pampering which included baths & haircuts.  Ginger has been really uncomfortable with the heat and isn't above begging for ice cubes when your filling up a glass.

Clean and with less hair.

Dang I smell better

A few hours later the hair was still neatly groomed but the doggy smell had returned.

We can now see those mischievous eyes.
Thank goodness their hair doesn't grow as fast as mine or the pampering could get very pricey.  Or we would have to learn how to do the pampering.

A New Friend

The end of summer we had 3 new families move into the neighborhood.  All 3 have kids Reganne's age but only one of them is a girl.  Kailani turned twelve in June and is in the Seventh Grade.  The girls have been slowly making friends since then.

Kailani was going to make dinner for her family and invited Reganne to come an help.  With a little prompting she was off.

Team work
Everything tastes better when poked with a stick.
Final product
They did it all by theirselves.
Those smiles are awesome and even better they made these from start to finish by themselves.  I asked Reganne how they tasted and if she liked them.  Are you kidding?  The only thing I liked was the pineapple.  There was a hidden agenda to this project...Personal Progress.

Their next project was making cookies for all the little boys having a late night on Friday night.

School Projects.....1st Trimester

6th Grade you get to take Band, Orchestra, or Theater, Art, and Choir.  Reganne chose to do Theater, Art, and Choir.  She was lucky enough to get Art for 1st Trimester.  She loves to draw and create.  She didn't like the tests or writing about art.

We love to see what she creates and is willing to share.  She told us about a mask she was making of a lion.  Have you ever heard of paper mach?  It's gross playing with it but she was proud of the result. I am amazed by her talent and her deep concentration while creating.

Lion Mask
Ryder too was busy creating all sorts of creepy pictures and fun stories.  He too is very creative and loves to draw, build, and write stories.

Haunted House

These kids amaze me daily with what they can do and accomplish when they set their minds to do something.  I now know for a fact that I am the only one in our family that can't draw even a straight line.  Thank goodness I have all of them to help me out in my time of need.

Reganne's Team Picture

04-05 Rage Girls Team

This group of girls worked really hard during the fall season.  They have had fun making new friendships and learning to work as a team.  It was time for team pictures and a have fun together one more time until practices start again.

Crazy Girls
There is always time to for a crazy goofy picture.  Getting these 12 girls to commit to the same thing at the same time was amazing in of itself.  They always have a great time together.

Happy Halloween

Halloween morning arrived full of sunshine and blue skies.  The kids were all ready for a fun filled day.  Reganne & Rylee both decided to dress up just a little for school.  Ryder was going full steam ahead with his costume for the school parade.  This year we were really lucky it wasn't freezing cold no jackets required.

The kids were ready to party and show off their costumes.

The Black Ninja

2 Ninja's in one class.
Black & Blue a great team.
After school everyone was once again full steam ahead.  Ryder was up for more fun and candy. We were off to SkyWest for more candy.  He really cleaned up with a full bag.

Time to head home for more trick or treating in the neighborhood.  Let's see how Dad decorated this year.

Our Demon Child
She is ready for a fun night with friends
Maybe even sneak in some trick or treating
There was a sneaky black cat wandering around the house.  I wasn't quick enough to snap a picture.
Maybe next year.
Our spooky decorations
Mr Skeleton takes charge
Dave really outdid himself this year.  Between the fog, car, and the dancing skeleton it was enough to give a few kids a good scare.  The older kids and adults loved it.  It was a fun, spooky, and creepy night.  The neighborhood was full of smoke by 8:00.

Curfew was 9:00 since it was a school night.  The kids all complained really loudly for more time until it hit 8:00.  Everyone dragged inside tired and ready to unwind.  We have enough candy to last until after Christmas.  NOT!!!! I really need to hide it better.

Season Finale...The Rams

Soccer Saturday arrived and with it was Silent Sideline Saturday for all the games.  This meant to keep the cheering to only after a score.  No yelling or screaming at the players or coaches or other parents.  Reganne looked at me and asked me if I could handle not cheering for her.  My reply was I would do my best.

The silent reminder...
Could the sidelines do it?

Keeper duties
Reganne was prepared for action.
The game was pretty well matched.  The final score was 6 to 4 we won!!!!  We had a few players from the Premier Teams helping us out which really helped our girls see how the offense can really work together and be successful.  Reganne 17 attempts this week and gave up only 4.  This was the perfect way to end the season.

Giving a cheer to the Rams
They also had a rough season with no wins or ties.
Come and have treats with us
and
Celebrate the ending of the fall season together.

The girls were really bummed that this was the last game until next year.  Reganne asked me to find winter soccer.  That maybe tough to do with the holidays.  Maybe we can do some off season training ourselves.

Time to head home, clean house, decorate for Halloween, and maybe try the new drink place in the neighborhood Fiz.

Friday Fun Night

The weather has finally started to cool off.  This is the perfect time of year to be outside in the evenings.  Gone is the blistering heat it's time to hang out with neighbors and have fun.  Outside movies are the best.  This week we went to the Mathew's house down the street for a fun Halloween movie.  The boys play together all week riding bikes, scooters, building forts, and just being boys.  Who knew they would all sit still to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 eating popcorn and cookies.  They didn't move but you could hear giggles and even a few out loud laughter (from the adults).

We felt a few small rain drops but it soon blew over.  It was a fun night and a fun movie.

It was time for bed since we had a very busy Saturday planned.
