My head will get cold...

During spring break we were lucky to have Grandma JeanAnn come and visit. This is the second year that she has come for a visit and spend time with the girls. They have so much fun together going to the movies, trying to crochet, and shopping. Friday we drove back with Grandma to visit everyone. I told the kids no flip flops since it was still cold in Springville. Ryder was convinced that his head was going to get cold and wanted to take his hat and gloves. We tried to convince him that it wasn't that cold. Grandma promised him that if his head was cold then she would get him a hat at her house. Well.....as soon as we arrived he promptly told Grandma that he needed a hat.
This one is too small...

These are too big...

These are Perfect!!
He promptly latched onto 3 hats and wore all three the rest of the weekend.

How Does My Hair Look?

Most Monday's I leave for work without the kids and the enjoy Dad day. The start of spring break was one of those days. Dave brought the kids for lunch and I was anxious to see what the girl's hair woudl look like. Reganne was so excited to show me her hair that she had done herself. Dad just had to take a picture to show me how grownup she looked. She loves wearing her hair down.
Pretty....She is growing up to fast.

Spring Soccer

Spring soccer is finally starting much to the excitement of the girls. The first practice was cold and windy. The girls were so excited to see each other that not much practicing happened. Thanks Coach Nick for being so patient.

The Two Wheeler

I bragged so much a couple of weeks ago about Ryder being able to finally peddle his trike. That much to my surprise I found these pictures on my camera from Dad. He can also peddle his big boy bike. He now asks if he can please ride in the street.

Maybe soon.....

Finally...Yummy Rolls

I have been trying to make yummy yeasty rolls since December. Previous posts have shown my failures. Finally, I have a successful batch. Who knew that flour goes bad and can effect the rising process? After trying and retrying each step it dawned on me that the only consistent ingredient was my flour. So I opened a new, fresh bag of flour and success soon followed.
After rising for 1/2 hour.

Finished product

I loved the smell and everyone loved the taste. Rylee shouted for joy and requested that I should make more. Dave said it was about time and please make a double batch. This is becoming a Sunday tradition.

Watch Me

All of my children have inherited my issues with riding a bike. I have never been really steady on a bike. I can ride and not fall off, but I never rode just for the fun of it. We bought Rylee & Reganne bikes, tricycles, scooters, and wiggle carts with the hope that they would love to play on them. No such luck they would rather walk than ride. Ryder on the other hand loves to play outside with all the bikes, tricycles, scooters, and wiggle carts. He is not content to ride just one.

The weather was so nice that he begged to go out and play. They all played outside and when I stepped out to see what they were up to. SURPRISE!!! Ryder was peddling and not pushing his bike. He was moving full steam ahead up and down the driveway.

The girls were shocked that I didn't know he could peddle. He has been doing this for weeks at daycare.
Maybe he will provide the challenge to his sisters to ride their bikes more.

Spring has Sprung!!

This past week the sure signs of spring time have arrived. We wake up to cool temperatures of low 40's and clouds. The by lunchtime the sun is shining with a lot of blue sky. Then by 5:00 the temperature is reading 75 with more sunshine. PERFECTION!!!

Here are other signs of spring that appeared this week:

"Popcorn Tree" All the trees are starting to bloom with popcorn. Just ask any child.

Mr. Springtime...He is covered for any type of weather.

The first trip to the park.
The perfect way to spend an hour in the sun playing at our neighborhood park.

Where do we start first?

The problem with springtime in St. George is that it never lasts long and we move right into summer.

Parent Teachers Conference

This last week there was no school Monday & Tuesday for Kindergartners and early outs for the other grades. It was a week full of Book Fairs, Morning with Mom, and Parent Teachers' Conferences. This is our first time with multiple teachers to meet with and get progress reports. They both earned really good grades this last trimester. Each one has something they need to work on and improve before the end of the school year.

Reganne is starting to write and make sentences. Each day it appears to get easier for her. This is the note she passed to Dave & I in sacrament meeting today. There is nothing that compares to the I Love You's from your children. She also passed a note to her primary teacher. He told everyone in Elder's Quorum that he questioned if he was getting through to his class. When one of the kids put a note in his lap. It made his day and he knew he was were he needed to be. Reganne has a really big heart and loves nothing better that to make someone feel better.

The Results Are In:

She passed her karate test to receive her next belt.

She is officially a Blue/White Belt. She is learning more about sparing, breaking boards, and how to use Num Chucks. These scare me to death. Too many memories of Uncle Darryl playing with a set when we were just a little older than Rylee. The first couple of days she had to sleep with them and they went every where with her. Except to school.

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

I love to read and I am trying to encourge the kids to read as well. What better way to make it fun that to visit Target for a special Happy Birthday to Dr Seuss on Saturday morning. They cleared a spot in girls clothes and sat on the floor to listen to the stories. As we walked in the kids were each given a gift bag inside was full of red & white. Treats, crayons, coloring pages, and stickers.

What's inside??

Look crackers !!

Look at this big book, I am inside the story.

Don't touch my goodie bag

What a fun way to spend a half hour on Saturday morning when it is rainy and cold outside.
