SRIS 6th Grade Band Concert

One last school activity before fall break the 6th grade band concert.  Good news it is during class bad news Ryder has this class first period.  7:50 am yes that is am be in your seats and ready to listen.  We found our seats in the Little Theater but I had strict instructions not to approach him, talk to him, or acknowledge him in any way until afterwards.  Then and only then can we talk to him.  Just a reminder that these kids have only been playing for 6 weeks.

Getting ready...

The Brass Section only.

The Baritone Section
I love the bald spot that I also caught
for everyone to see.
The whole concert was 20 minutes.  It showcased that the kids are actually learning and growing with their instruments.  Not many sour notes.  I loved that their teacher didn't stand in front of them directing them but instead off to the side guiding and explaining what they do each day in class.  The kids completed everything she asked them to do.

We were allowed to talk to him afterwards and let him know how proud we are of him.  He has worked so hard that he should be proud as well.

I can definitely say that it wasn't what I had imagined it would be.  The 4th grade recorder concerts take the prize on being the worst concert ever.
