Fourth Grade Recorder Concert

Reganne's class has been practicing so hard to present a special Mother's Day Concert with their recorders.  I am guessing at the practicing since she refused to practice while I was nearby.  She wanted it all to be a surprise.  The concert was getting ready to start when I realized that I couldn't see a thing sitting down so off to the back of the multipurpose room I went.

How grown up she looks with this red dress and all that hair.

All the kids trying their best.
They sounded really great.  The practice paid off.

Mom & Daughter Selfie
She served me a cookie and a special letter.

It was a great program with not a dry eye in the place.  I love watching the kids learn new things and share their talents with others.  Ryder wanted to try an play the recorder when  we got home.  The sound was not so good he will have to wait until 4th grade for his turn.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Stake conference was today and even better we got done early.  Oops!!! our stake president told us not to tell.  My Sunday nap was calling my name but I finally had to give into Ryder to visit the ducks.  The kids were all dressed in their pajamas but who cares let's go.

Here they come.
Dig Ryder's outfit with black socks & sneakers.

I love the swans Mom.

Guess who still has bread and we are going to get it from him.

The girls quickly took the bread away from Ryder.
They threw it to the approaching ducks before they got any closer.

A Waters Standoff.....
The duck won when it started hissing at her.

It was time to head home and catch another nap or make cotton candy with the kids.  I love a lazy Sunday but they are really few and far between so we had better enjoy it while we can.

Saturday Crazies

Soccer ending there was still more that needed to be done.  What I wouldn't give for a peaceful Saturday afternoon lounging around the house.  Well this wasn't the day for that.  Soccer game over with a WIN!!!  Time for Rylee to head out to the Ironman as a volunteer.

Ready to have fun and serve.

Spike twice in a row.

Practicing his rollerskating.

Cool moves and avoided the fall.

Feeding the Missionaries
We loved having them over to eat and share their message with us.
It has been years since we have been able to do this.

6:30 do you know where your son is?
After checking the house and the yard this is what I discovered.
His radio was blaring and still fully dressed.  Woke up once at 8 got him in his pajamas and promptly fell back to sleep.
UNTIL 3:30 AM!!!!!!!
He was ready to play.  I was not excited by the prospect and went back to bed.

Invasion of the Birds
Watching TV we noticed that birds were on the patio furniture.  As we sat there a few more flew in.
Dave went outside to see what was going on.  He found these two sitting there refusing to move.
They were all looking for their nests that Dave had removed in the fall.  They are looking for a new spot to build their homes again.

It was a busy crazy Saturday and thank goodness it is stake conference tomorrow.  Sunday afternoon naps are calling my name.

Season Comes to an End....

After freezing last week it was nice and sunny.  This was their only early morning game and Reganne was ready to play.  We had hoped that it would be against our sister team Little Valley 3 instead it's Little Valley 1.  Reganne started out on defense they were off and running.  This team was tough!!!!

After half time surprise Reganne was goalie and all smiles.

Doing her job.

When did she get such a hard kick?

Catching a drink

No Goal!!!!
The only goal she gave up was a penalty kick and she only missed that one by inches.

High Fives!!!!!

The season is officially over and they were undefeated both Fall & Spring.  The girls all want to wear their team shirts and medals to school tomorrow.  Who knows what will happen in the fall some of the girls are looking toward the competitive teams.

Reganne is looking forward to her next sport to try.......Tennis!!!!

Soccer Highlights

This soccer team has so much fun together when they get together that I am afraid they will forget all about the game.  Reganne once again volunteers to be the goalie.

Ready and waiting.

Time for some offense.
She couldn't wait to get her feet on that ball.
They played a hard game without any subs and with competitive team recruiters watching.  They begged the girls to come and practice with them.  The only problem is they want a commitment to soccer only.  Reganne isn't ready to give up everything else.  There is still so many sports to try out.

Time for a doubleheader on a colder, wet Saturday morning.  They were ready to play but the spectators were bundling up with blankets and jackets.

First game playing offense but ended up as goalie.
Won the game 6 to zero.

Second game....much harder than the first.
Successful once again 3 to 1 final score.

Treats needed for a cold rainy day.
Preservatives all around.

Time to warm up for the sidelines and not the girls who were flying high from both wins.  Reganne crashed as soon as we hit the van yet there was a smile plastered on her face.  One more week of soccer and then a well deserved break.

Kite Festival

No wind, rain, but a lot of sun this is a perfect afternoon for the Kite Festival.  The Reganne & Ryder have been reading up a storm to have enough minutes to earn a kite or book or tickets to the bounce houses.  We were off to collect the prizes.

"Getting ready for the festival"
This was Reganne's caption as she took the picture.  My caption is "Holy Gray it's time to color my hair"
Reganne tried to comfort me that my hair is not gray but blue and it looks fine.  I love how she tries to cheer me up whenever I am feeling low.

Books, kites, or tickets???
Books won out.

How did Captain America get here?
This was the must have photo op of the day.

Playing games for treats.

Remind me to hide the sharp darts she killed 3 balloons.

It was a fun afternoon full of games, treats, and a lot of sun.  The school choirs each sang songs from their last performance how many times can you hear Happy & I Believe.  It was time to head home.

Spring Festival @ Tuacahn

This year was a week later and dang it should have been earlier.  The weather has turned really chilly and in the amphitheater it was down right cold.  The kids had been there all day and claimed it had been warm all day.  Lucky for us I have extra blankets in the back of the van and everyone but Dave brought a jacket.

Ryder found us seats down in front and everyone was ready to start.

Getting ready to start.
10 elementary school choirs.  Thank goodness kids don't get cold.

Props this year.  Too bad we were down front and missed the effect of the plates.

Do they look cold to you??
Dancing and actions chases the chills away.

Happy but with a head down front blocking the perfect picture.

Flowers for our girl.
She requested roses, but we brought tulips instead.
Dave & I had to be sneaky to surprise her and she was.
Reganne & Kiah
Bundling up and ready to dash to the van.

Anyone that knows me knows that I follow in my Dad's footsteps when it comes to crowds and driving home.  My method is to wait until the crowd clears out and then make a straight shot home.  Not tonight it was a mad dash to the van, turn on the heater, turn on a movie, and wait in the crowded parking lot as we slowly made it home.

As the kids left the stage the each gave the choir director hugs and told her they would be back next year.  This means the school year is quickly coming closer to ending.  Ryder's count was 45 days.  I am ready for the sun but not for bored kids.

Saying Goodbye.....

Last Baby Tooth!!!!!

To the Tooth Fairy this girl has lost her last baby tooth.  How could this happen before she turns 11.  How many kids pull their own teeth after being prayers, kisses, hugs, and tucked in with all her stuffed animals.  15 minutes after lights out she comes running out with a tooth in one hand and a bloody tissue in the other.  That would be our Reganne.

2 kids down and one only starting to get visits from the famous fairy.  I only hope he doesn't follow his sisters footsteps and they fall out during the day.

Choir Spring Concert

It is a crazy time of year class programs time to run to Reganne's concert.  They came marching in ready to perform.

Look at this kids all holding still.

Not anymore...
Singing Happy, Ryder's favorite.

Finally a clear shot.

These kids have been working so hard getting to school early to practice.  They have one more performance before choir ends for the year.  I love watching them they have so much fun working together.

Soccer Time

It was a perfect Saturday afternoon for a soccer game.  The girls were ready to play and have fun of course.  Let's check out the competition they were smaller, younger, and had meaner moms.

Gettin in the groove.
Can you stop the ball???
YES!!!

They were off and running.

Everyone one was hot and sweaty time for a nap.  Now all I needed to do was convince Ryder and it would become a fact.  That was not going to happen.

Time To Go Camping

Rylee and I felt left out last weekend when they went camping without us.  Of course we had fun but now we can have fun together.  We headed off to Cedar Pocket let's hope there is a space left for us.

Going hiking
Hopefully, she brings him back with her.

Our spot between 2 large groups.
Hopefully, we don't keep them awake tonight.

Another hike since he survived the last one.

Girl time, movie, book, and Pirate's Booty.

Don't look at my cards.
Small hands have to come up with a strategy.  Ryder's was building a book fort around his.

Everyone was tired and ready for bed except for Ryder he wanted to see the stars.  Stars, scary stories, and sisters make the perfect combination for screams.  A little brothers dream.

Happy Easter

To many activities only so many hours to complete them.  Ryder's begging we completed each one.

Decorating
Ryder's creation

Decorating eggs with Kool Aid they smell so much better than the old stuff.

Weird creations

Messy hands + lot's of soap = stained hands

Getting baskets ready for our visitor.

Happy Easter!!!!
Back to bed until 7:00.

7:30 and Ryder finally got the sisters up to enjoy their baskets.
Then it was back to bed.
It was a great weekend with family, candy, yummy food, general conference, and relaxing.  Too bad these times don't last as long as the busy weekends.

We said goodbye to Grandma & Grandpa and hello to the MacPherson Cousins for the night.
