Soccer Saturday: Game 4

This week Soccer Saturday started later than usual.  Reganne's game didn't start until 12:00.  We had time for lunch before starting out.  However, the downside to starting later was the heat.  It was 90 degrees without any breeze or shade around.  Except man made shade from the umbrella's all around the fields.  I really need to get one big enough for the whole family.  The tiny ones only encourage fighting and trying to poke each others eyes out.

This week the Angel's were down one player so fewer rests periods.  The whistle blew and they were off and running.
 Running,,,,
 More running....
 Kicking of course
Goal protecting...Reganne's job most of the game.
Great foot work...Reganne has really improved controlling the ball with her feet.

There were no calls this week for using hands.  However, the goal Reganne scored was into the wrong net.  She was upset but kept right on playing.  Before half time one more player was out sick.  Thank goodness snack was grapes.  The girls all gulped down and playing resumed.  I believe the score was tied, but who knows.  They played hard and had fun.

2nd Game of the Day

After a slight screw up on my part and getting the times wrong for Ryder's game.  He was eager to play and have fun.  I love this age group since they really don't play soccer, but instead turtle ball.  They have fun and they love chasing after the ball.  It is the parents that struggle with how perfect they are playing and how many goals they score.  I am glad that he is having fun even though he hasn't scored yet, but he smiles and can't wait until next week to play again.

 The whistle blew...
 Get that ball
Look at me, I will get it.
 Who wants it now?
Wait which way do we go?

These little boys are amazing.  No tears all smiles.  They had fun and so did we.

Fall Soccer Season: Game 3

Here we are already to game 3 of the fall season.  Reganne was eager to play and get the game started.  No longer do I need to beg and plead with her to get ready.  She gets ready herself and only needs a little help with the shoe laces.  This week she was excited to score again.  First thing she was put at goalie.  She smiled and did her best.  This week she was on top of the ball and refused to let them score.

 Goalie
 Get that ball
 Keep trying
 On the run
Kick it...whole body kicks are her specialty.
Goal!!!!!
She worked so hard to score.  She had a corner kick that flew over their heads and landed in the right position.  Her teammate kicked it in for the goal.  There were high fives all around and smiles for the rest of the day.

Being Unique

How can you be unique driving a white mini van in Utah?

This is how....Customized License Plates.

This was Dave's idea and he had a  lot of fun trying to find the perfect one for us.  Or rather should I say me.  He did ask my opinion, but I know from past experience to let him pick.  He will pick the one he wants regardless.

Haul Water is what it means and Hauling Waters is what I do each and every day.  The funny part is watching people try to figure out what it means.  H2O is the hardest part.  I think we all slept through Chemistry in school and forgot what H2O means.

Now I will be able to pick my white mini van out of a crowd with very little difficulty.  If you see this plate then you will know that I am near by so wait and say Hi.

Happy 5th Birthday Ryder

The day finally arrived Ryder turned 5 on Tuesday.  I was finding it hard to believe that 5 years have flown by so quickly or rather we have survived 5 years.  He quickly caught on that he would get presents and it was his special day.  He told everyone that he wanted a Remote Control Dump Truck, Remote Control Helicopter, or Remote Control Car.  I found this out the Saturday before at dinner with friends.  He also chose Chuck A Rama for dinner with a little prompting from Rylee.
Reganne took over after we were seated and promptly told the waitress that it was his birthday.  She wasn't leaving anything to chance and forgetting about him.

It's time to sing to Ryder...
Everyone joined in and topped it off with a brownie sundae with a candle on top.
Time for presents...Batteries....He was really cute after he opened this present and found batteries.  He smiled and said thank you.
Can that smile get any larger?
 WOW!!!YEAH!!!! a remote control truck.
Thanks to the Wheelers for making his birthday perfect.
 Mater & McQueen Cake
Thanks to Harmon's Bakery for changing it up each year to make it just a little different.  The kids love the grass and wanted to eat only it.
Time to sing one finally time this year.
Blow them out and make a wish.  Oops Reganne helped just a little.
 Time to play.
What birthday would be complete without talking to Grandma and telling her about his special day.

He was one tired little boy but went to bed with a smile on his face.  He told me it was the best birthday ever.  I am so glad he had a great day.  I am so thankful that Heavenly Father sent this little boy to our family.

Soccer Saturday....Game 2

With an hour between games there was time to move slowly to the next field.  However, slowly is not a word in a kids vocabulary so we were off with one stop to see puppies for sale.  How cruel to show them and all the kids were begging their parents for one and then  they said the price of $399 for each one.  Not today kids let's go.

The game started and this week all the players were there so each person had a little down time.

Who's going to kick it first?
 Get that ball.
 Oops where did it go?
 I got it
 No  I have it
 It's my turn
Wow!! A whole body kick.

Game over and everyone played.  Time for lunch!!!!

Fall Soccer Season: Game 2

Soccer Saturday dawned with gorgeous weather.  A perfect day for a game.  This week Reganne's team played first and she was ready.

 She never stopped running...
She even scrambled for the ball
 Her kicks were amazing
 Defense was on target
Even being Goalie she blocked the balls and only one goal during that time.

The only thing I missed was seeing her score her first goal of the season.  I was arguing with Rylee to watch the game.  Thanks goodness the friends sitting beside us told me what she had done so I wasn't totally clueless.  Next week I will pay attention at all times.

It's Rodeo Time!!

This year we didn't make it to the rodeo itself due to sickness, homework, and more homework.  Instead we went to the Rodeo Parade on Saturday.  It was a nice afternoon to be outside but it did get a little warm.  When is it going to start was asked multiple times.

Patiently waiting...we can see them getting into line, but not moving.  Finally @ 5:00 everything started moving and we were on our way.
The Rodeo Clown and the only horse that wears pants.
What would a parade be without the candy.  This year instead of throwing candy from the floats.  They had people walk along and threw it towards the kids.  Each one came home with bag full of candy, frisbee, and t-shirt.
Ryder was fascinated with all the horses and wagons.  I made me a little nostalgic for Grandpa Johnson and all the parades I rode in as a kid.

The parade ended with the usual fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars with sirens blaring.  Time for dinner at Pizza Factory with Dad.

Tuacahn....Aladdin

I had to redeem myself from missing Little Mermaid last year and I almost waited to long this year for Aladdin.  However, when getting tickets I was informed by the box office that they had lots of seats left.  The girls were excited to go with an added bonus Grandma & Grandpa Christiansen came down to go with us.  The boys went swimming instead.

Who can pass up sticking your face inside the holes?

Afterwards, the cast did a meet and greet outside... Who can we see??

Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie

We all had a good time and enjoyed watching the play.  Time for bed and there is school tomorrow.  Will they survive??

Shred Fest 2012

If there wasn't enough going on today I needed to add another stop to the list.  The first annual shred fest was being held at the college in conjunction with DocUtah Film Festival starting this weekend.  Everyone was encouraged to bring their shredding for free.  They were even recycling old electronics.  My little garbage can was done in seconds.  For the kids there was a bounce house to jump in and the local radio station was blasting music to enjoy.

 Everyone get in and jump.
 I'm tired and hot
We are all tired.

Time to go home and eat lunch.  On the way home I turned on the radio and would you believe it.  It was playing the same music as was in the parking lot as we were driving towards home.  SURPRISE!!!  The man talking on the radio was the same man we talked to.  Shawn asked if he could hear us if we talked back to him.  Everybody looked at him and replied NO!!!

Second Soccer Game of the Day

We had a 1/2 hour between games just enough time to find the right field.  Reganne was excited to start the season.  She is playing with a new team and girls all from Little Valley area.  She even talked her friend Frankie into joining her on the team.  It was still really hot and this game is even longer.

 The Angels
I am not sure who came up with the name but there is a little devil mixed in to keep it interesting.

Make that goal!
The game started off with a bang.  Both teams scored in the first minutes.
 Get that ball
 Try harder
 Block that goal.
It's hot and sweaty...will they survive until the end of the game?
They did and everyone left the field with smiles and eager to play next week.

They played really well for the first game of the season and some of them their first game ever.

Time for lunch!!!
