Special Visitors

Grandma & Grandpa Christiansen came for a visit over Easter Weekend.  Ryder was so excited to see Grandma that he attached himself to her.  Ryder is so proud of all the talents his Grandma has.  He couldn't wait to give her all the bags he has been collecting for her and her projects.

He decided he was going to learn how to crochet.  He wants to make some bags of his own.  However, it was really tricky for him so he had to try yarn instead.

Check these out Grandma!!!

He crocheted all afternoon and into the next day.

He kept at this until his fingers wore out or maybe he got tired.  He loved doing something just like his Grandma.

Watch out he has big plans for projects.

Happy Birthday Rylee

Big number 13!!!!  This special day started cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  I told her that I refused to let her turn into a teenager any sooner than was necessary.  We had at least 3 more hours.

Selfie
I asked her for a selfie to post on Facebook for birthday wishes.
This is was what I got.

Birthday Slumber Party!!!
What way to start your teenage years than your first slumber party.
They had a blast with a stop for pizza and Frapachino's from Starbucks (after mom checking out the ingredients) they were yummy.  It was now time for facials, movies, and pizza.  Sleep was optional.

It was a great celebration and I finally allowed her to move forward and become the teenager she is.  We love her so much and are proud of her and the choices she is making.

Now the trick will be for all of us to survive these crazy teenager years.

Lost Pictures

I learned something new thank you Rylee.  Blake sent these pictures to me while they were at NASCAR last month.  Getting these pictures off my phone was a little harder but Rylee was eager to show me and then tease me that she knew more than me.

I love the looks on their faces and enjoyed hearing their stories when they got home.

Thanks Blake for taking them and then sharing these pictures.  The rest of us stayed home and had a yummy dinner and treats.

The lady asked if Ryder was ok to use a needle.

Sure was good job making his puppet.
Reganne worked hard on hers.

Success!!!!
She loved making this and wants to make more.

Time for a treat at the Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery.
Oops!!!! I forgot to check the time.  It was dinner time.
Oh well dessert before dinner.

We were pooped after such a busy day.  Too bad nothing else got done today.  There is always another Saturday.

It's Spring Time

Time for Easter Egg Hunts and fun activities.  Ryder was excited to go to the SkyWest Hunt.  Rylee decided to babysit and Reganne was invited to another one at the high school with her friend.  You have to be early to get the eggs at SkyWest.

Advanced Theater Performance

Rylee's Advanced Theater Class presented their spring play.  They have been working on this play since the first of the year.  Opening night came really fast for them but they were eager to share with their families.  We attended the 2nd night and they did an awesome job.  Rylee had multiple parts with costume changes every 10 minutes.  It kept her busy.

Final curtain call and standing ovation.

Rylee in her Rumpelstiltskin costume with Payton in her Jill costume.

Silliness after the show.

Rylee was one of the last ones to leave the school that night.  She did a great job.  The next day was the drama festival for all intermediate & middle schools in the district.  Her group first place in Reader's Theater performing Frog Prince Continued.

This girl has an awesome talent.  I  hope she continues developing hers.

Spring Break 2015....

Sunday arrived and with it the ending of Spring Break.  We were going to end it on a roll.  Reganne & Ryder had begged for Roller Skates or Blades.  It looked like so much fun when their friends were outside playing so they wanted to try it out.

Helmets, Knee pads, Elbow pads, and skates all on.  Ready to roll.

Reganne on roller blades

Ryder on roller skates

After a half hour they were pooped.  Their butts hurt and Reganne hurt her wrist.  Not much rolling going on instead a lot of falling instead.

I hope they don't give up like I did.  Maybe I should give them a try.

Spring Break 2015.......

On the way down the canyon from the cave we found Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.  Rylee has begged us for the past year to make a trip there.  Now seemed the perfect time to stop.  Lunch was forgotten for the next hour.

We need to come back and volunteer.
This was a note to Mom to remember to schedule something.
It was now time for lunch.  We found a local hangout "Big Al's" that served the yummiest hamburgers, fries, corn dogs, and onion rings.

Next stop was the Movie Town Museum.  Kanab has a history of old western movies being filmed around the area.  The kids were excited to look around and explore.  Ryder loves watching old movies with Dave.  He started out on a dead run trying to look at everything at one.

Reganne found the jail.

She even found friends.  Screamy Joe welcomed her without closing his mouth.

Getting fit for their coffins.
A selfie with Screamy Joe.

Let's plow the fields.
He was fascinated with all the old farm equipment.
He must be channeling his great-grandpa.

It was a great afternoon outing.  We never made it to Lake Powell but there will be other Saturdays.  Time to head home and unwind.
