Exhausting Week

It's been an exhausting week full way too many activities.

Ryder & Dexter
Exhausted and asleep before 7:00.

I thought he was watching YouTube.
Instead he is snoring away.

Rylee having lunch with a high school friend Jerica and
her cute baby.
I am surprised she is holding him.  She usually runs the other way.

Spring must be getting close.
This little guy got stuck in the sink outside.
He sure is big for early spring.

This candle smells amazing.
Too bad Rylee wouldn't let me steal if for upstairs.

Thank goodness I got a nap on Sunday afternoon.  I am now ready for another crazy busy week.

A Big Day!!!

For planning a wedding is going dress shopping.  The dress is probably one of the most important things that you just have to get right.  It was time to search for the perfect dress and hear her say "YES" to the dress.  Reganne, Rylee, and myself along with Ruston's mom & sister.  Will we be supportive and positive? Of course!!

First Stop..Bell Tower

Peeking out at us

First one
That is a whole lot of dress.
Of course she looks amazing.

Simple and elegant
One of my favorites

Pirate Princess
a little too lacy for her
She does look amazing.

Second Shop
Blvd Bridal & Prom
She looks like a bride.
Love this one!!

All of us at once said no way.
Way too much material.

What an exhausting afternoon.  She found many possibilities but non were the absolutely "YES" thank goodness we still have 6 months to looks for that perfect one.

After a quick trip to Vegas she found the "YES" bought it and brought it home.  One item to check off our wedding list.

DHMS Cone Concert

Third Quarter Concert Band Concert was also the DHHS Cone Concert for SRIS, DHMS, and DHHS bands.  This was going to be a large group of kids moving on and off stage.  Ryder had swim beforehand we arrived just in time for him to find his instrument and seat.  We found seats close to the front.

Wide angel shot of the
DHMS Concert Band

Quick rotation
between performances

Another change
All the bands together on stage.
They sounded really good having never practiced together.

Treats!!
What boys would pass up cookies.
Not these 3 crazy ones that is for use.

I can't believe that we are finished with the 3rd Quarter.  The next 8 weeks are going to go really fast.  I am not sure we are even prepared for the end of the school year.

We Made it Safe

We pushed through the snow in Salt Lake City to Payson.  Then it started to clear and was good the rest of the way home.  The downside was trying to find someplace open for gas & food after Nephi.  Beaver we found gas but not food other than the snacks offered there.  We finally made it home by midnight and promptly fell into bed.

Ryder brought out these pictures that the team members started sharing of their trips home.

That is a whole lot of snow.

Looks icy & cold

No clean parking lots
This had to be from a hotel room.

It was a fun weekend.  So glad that we made it home before most of the snow fell.  We need the water so badly that any little bit makes everyone smile and dream of large piles of the stuff.  Right now we will keep praying for more.

UTAGS 2022: Final Day

Saturday morning time to unwind and have some fun before finals.  Dave, Ryder, Brandon, and Trevor all headed for Autorama.  How lucky are we that this is also this weekend.  Dave and Ryder were excited to check it out.  However, I pleaded for boy time and I would stay with Kim & Boston.

I begged for a picture
This is what Ryder sent me.
They had a great time.  Each one had their favorite cars.

Rylee got on early birthday present.
A brand new iPhone and purple to boot.

Time for a friendly game of ping pong
Maybe not so friendly..
The Waters genes are very competitive.

Dave& Brandon
These two are even more competitive.
Dave swears he let Brandon win.
Who knows it maybe next visit there will be a rematch.

Playing with Boston
She is growing up so fast a real cutie.

Made it for finals and tonight I get to scream for our kids.  A strict rule at state is no emotion on deck.

Relay Line Ups

Boy is still in the zone.
Dave promised dinner of his choice.
Raising Cane's

In the snow...

After dinner the snow began to fall in earnest.  Can we make it home if this weather continues?  Dave was confident that we could.  Off we went...

Event #74:    Boys 13-14 400 Yard Free Relay    9th Place,  3:41.75, Dropped .90

We had a great time watching amazing swimmers, visiting with family, and visiting new places.  This is the last year Ryder will compete at this meet.  Next year with Senior State we get to stay home and sleep in our own beds.  That is a year away so let's focus on Long Course Season that starts next month.

UTAGS 2022: Day Two

Friday Morning came way to early for me but we made it just in time for warm ups.  I found the officials meeting room and Dave found the perfect seat to watch & cheer.

Top row seating
I had even a better seat for the prelim session.

Friends cheering on friends!!
I love how they support each other always.

Afternoon Break
Someplace new to visit.

Smith & Wesson
One place we have always said we wanted to check out.
It was just as crazy as we thought.

Finals
Can you figure out this diagram?
All the officials have a hard keeping track of where
we are supposed to be and when.

Event #42:    Boys 13-14 200 Yard Medley Relay    8th Place, 1;52.57    Dropped 5.14 seconds
Event #54:    Boys 13-14 200 Yard Breast    28th Place, 2:43.82    Dropped 1.09 seconds (swallowed way                         to much water on his flip turn which slowed him down.

I was officiating so once again we had to stay until the end.  We grabbed a quick dinner and headed back to sleep.  No prelims in the morning.  We are free until 4:00.

UTAGS 2022

We made it to Utah Age Groups State Championships aka "Junior Olympics State Championships" Ryder will be swimming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  He has 2 individual events during preliminaries and then relays each night during finals.  Dave decided to come along as a spectator, partner in crime, and cheering section.

Prelims start bright and early each day 7:00am

The pool is nice a quiet until
you step out into the hall with all the swimmers running around.

Afternoon Break
driving around Bountiful...
Bountiful Temple

Love the views
What a gorgeous day for a drive.

The winter landscape
is still in full bloom.
Spring will be here soon.

Finals...Relays
I didn't officiate tonight since Ryder was supposed to only swim with his relay team.

However,
he became the 1st alternate for the 400 IM.
This is the final event of the night.
We had to wait patiently for each heat to be announced.
As the alternate you have to wait by the officials table for the swimmers to check in.  If one doesn't you quickly jump into their lane.
Then swim as fast as you can.
Final Heat and lane 2 is a no show.  WAIT!! here he comes running as fast as he can on the wet deck.

Event #10, Boys 13-14 200 Yard Free Relay: 1:39.74, 8th Place, 1.74 second drop
Event #34, Boys 13-14 400 Yard IM:  5:10.26, 24th Place, .03 increase, Alternate for finals.

Time to head back to Brandon & Kim's but first dinner and then sleep.

Snap Shots of the Week - February 27th

All have a story that could be shared.  But should they?  Definitely, don't want to forget the craziness that makes up a week.

Dogs in the garbage!!
Gone are the days when the kids were eager to spend time with me and clean house.
OH, wait that was a hard never.
Teenagers are much worse about helping out.  They have plans, work, homework, or just plain ignore me.
Begging, Pleading, and Threatening all are not working.
Any ideas?
I shared this picture with them in hopes they would take the garbage out?
My phone was silent.
Any ideas?  Maybe I should charge them a cleaning fee to live here?

Join my Instagram account.
Please!!!
You are taking way too long to respond.

Cinnamon Flop for breakfast
Sunday mornings with late church.  This is a must to make.
Then share with Rylee when she is at work.

Dave's Fortune
I'm not sure but I think they made a mistake.
We had a good laugh and hope he has nature turns good the rest of the day.

More snow flake or little balls
We sure wish that more would fall.
Must document what little we get.
To remind us what it looks like if we don't see more for a long while.

Daddy Daughter Dinner Date

Flash from the past.  I loved going to the Daddy Daughter Dinner Dates when I was Merry Miss (Primary).  How surprising when they announced in Sacrament Meeting that they are planning one to celebrate Valentine's Day.  Reganne wasn't at all excited to go and she had to work.  Rylee was up for the challenge of eating pizza, dressing up, and hanging out with her dad.

Pre date picture.
Not sure if they will both survive.

They survived and look like
they are having fun.

They both said they had a fun time.  The younger girls were fascinated by her and of course her new jewelry her sparkly engagement ring.  I do believe that this was a success and hopefully, they do it again next year.
