Tuacahn Choir Festival

Where has the school year gone too?  It was time once again for the Tuacahn Choir Festival held each year for all the elementary school choirs in the district.  They spent the day learning new songs, singing new songs, and seeing old friends.  The evening performance started with a mad dash across town along with other families making the same trip.  This equals more traffic than usual and Reganne getting nervous we wouldn't make it in time.

Find Your School Dash
Performing special number.
Rock Around The Clock.
More Rocking Around the Clock.
Reganne wanted to surprise Dad with their number.
Dave loves to watch Happy Days.

One more performance of the year with the Spring Concert.  The kids were ready to go and of course show off.
Reganne and all her friends
Waiting patiently for Mrs Kholer to get started.
They did great but it ended way too soon.  The smiles weren't as bright as they gave high fives to each other and Mrs. Kholer.  The smiles did come when they were reminded no more early morning practices.

We have a break next year and then it will be Ryder's turn.

Waters' Sports Update

It's Saturday soccer again but this time a little later in the day 11:00.  A strange virus has been visiting our team the past couple of weeks.  We had a couple of girls out this week our friends on the Premier Team were glad to help out again with subbing duties between their games.

Team meeting with the refs
Plus team cheer.

Rain predicted
Those clouds look awful can we make it without getting wet?
Nope!!! Thank goodness for umbrellas.

Defense helping out Reganne

Coach Jose pitching in
and giving Reganne a few tips.

This week it was Rage vs Galaxy with 32 attempts they only scored 2 goals.  Rage had 22 attempts and scored 6 goals. Three of those goals were scored by our girls Hazel, Annie, and Savannah.  The Premier girls had to leave just after half time so it was all us out of 3 attempts we scored twice.

It was an awesome game full of promise of what the future games will be.  Just as we made it to the car the heavens opened and pretty much rained the rest of the day.  We accumulated 1/2 an inch in 24 hours.  The desert loves the water it quickly vanishes into the ground.

Next week there is Rage Spring Camp and a game on Saturday.  Hopefully, everyone will be feeling better.

Family Picture Time

I wanted a new season for family pictures this year.  My first choice was a snow picture but living in Southern Utah it's not always available.  We had snow in the mountains but couldn't get there in time so it melted.

Spring was my second choice and conference weekend was the perfect time.  I  had a captive audience and with a little begging or maybe a lot of begging we dragged the Wheeler's along with us.  Even if it was down the street at the new park.

Waiting for Blake to scout the perfect spot to start.
Whose brilliant idea was it to bring Dexter??  Mine

Everyone was in the doghouse except for
the dog.

Burning off the pent up energy.

More pictures or time to go??
Everyone was a good sport and the pictures turned out great.  Thank you Blake for all your hard work.

Maybe next year we can get the snow picture.  I love these pictures and of course the people in the picture.  Maybe if I stop feeding these guys they will stop growing up.

Where Have the Years Gone???

Rylee is 14!!!!
How did we all survive the first year of being a teenager?

She was ready to party
Please give me money so I can go shopping.
There were a few surprises for her throughout the day.
One minor problem she was pooped from her birthday slumber party with her friends.  Staying up until 2:00 am (YES AM)

Blizzard Chocolate Ice Cream Cake
It was really frozen notice the broken candle.
What Mom messes up and only has 7 candles?  This one.
Make a wish before the cake melts

She had a great weekend plus some with dinner at Pasta Factory, slumber party, and shopping with friends.

She is turning into an amazing person and we love her so much.  Until she reminds us that she can start learning to drive next year.  Please take good care of my car Mom.

Water's Sport Update

YEAH!!! soccer has been moved back to Saturday.  The sad part is we go back to the old fields at the school with that the times are scattered throughout the day.

This week we drew the short straw with the 9:00 time with warmup at 8:30,  The girls were still sleepy as the whistle blew.  A Rage vs Anasazi rematch the second one of the season.

Reganne was on duty with her new gloves.
Give me that ball!!!

Congratulations!!!!
4 to 1
Reganne's stats were a little more even this week.  11 attempts with one goal.  The offense is coming along.  They are working so hard and the Premier Team came through for us one again with a few players to help out with subs.

Time to head home and celebrate Rylee's birthday.

Political Buzz

The news is full of the Presidential Race that is raging right now.  We have had many conversations of how the systems works, who do we support, and who will we vote for.  I started doing my research to find the best one person in January and as each one has dropped out the field gets narrower every day.
This year with Utah's Caucus being earlier than usual I was surprised to see the candidates making it to Northern Utah.  However, there was one that came to Southern Utah to share his message.

Many protests sprouted in the car on the way over, but I felt it was a good thing to experience and maybe learn more about the crazy election process.  We might possibly learn something.

If looks could wound.  This one would be fatal.
Ryder trying to tease her  and lighten the mood.
Waiting for it to start.
It was a much older crowd which is concerning to me.
Will people be swayed the media or
will they learn for themselves?

Town Leaders
Warming up the crowd.....and we are still waiting.

John Kasich
Late to his job interview.
It was very interesting to listen to him and his views.  They aren't the most popular or supported but it was really informative.  Dave's first impression was not good.  If you are interviewing for a job you should always be on time.  Not arrive 30 minutes late.  This wouldn't float in the real world.

On our way home Rylee thanked me for forcing her to come it was very interesting.

Only time will tell how this all plays out but I wanted to teach our kids that getting involved and learning is never wasted.  I am sure the conversations will keeping happening around our dinner table and value their opinions.  They amaze us each day.

Soccer Wednesday??

Spring soccer was once again full steam ahead.  However, due to the number of teams in town fighting for the same fields we were scheduled to play on Wednesday night.  It was exciting to play at the new Sullivan Virgin Soccer Park at night in the dark.

Rage Girls were ready to play and welcomed back Andrea from the Premier Team to help out with subs.

Reganne on duty
Just behind her was the darkness with balls getting lost.
We wondered if they would make it to the river before they were rescued.

Second half and easier time keeping
track of stray balls.

Good Job!!! Anazasi!!!
It was a tied game with a lot of improvement from the girls.  The hard work is starting to show.  I miss Saturday games when you have school the next morning it's hard to unwind to sleep.

Spring Break: Disneyland in the Rain

Just as predicted the rain started at 3:00 as a minor sprinkle as the kids were on the Matterhorn.  We waited for them to ride.  My brains were already addled from HyperSpace Mountain so I sat out with Dave.  In a matter of minutes the minor sprinkle turned into major down pour.  We should we go to wait out the storm and how do we keep from getting drenched?

Sweet spot under a canopy.
The kids came back dripping and shivering.
How long do these storms last??

Wild rainstorm that we don't usually see in the desert.

In a matter of minutes the rain ponchos came out
and
the fun continued

We even got in line for those wonderful
Disney Ponchos a one of kind souvenir.

When the rain stops in California you remain wet.
This is so foreign for those who live in the desert.
Where you dry in minutes rather than hours.

Ryder and Pete the Pirate
The pirate started a conversation with Ryder or rather
he tried to engage Ryder in a conversation.  Instead
Ryder tried to hide or ignore him with hopes he would go away.

Just adding Waters to Disneyland
We were tired, cold, and still wet it was time to head back to the hotel.  The dryer got a workout with everyone's wet clothes.

Warm, dry, pjs, and electronics
A perfect ending for a fun day.
What is for dinner???

The cupboards were empty...

Dave & I made a quick run to Del Taco with a stop at
 7 Eleven for treats.
Along with a dozen others.  The line was crazy but even crazier listening
to the conversations around us.
No fireworks.
The perfect spot to view them
it was rained out.
Everyone was tired, ready for bed, but not ready to go home tomorrow.  We had a great time and it was the perfect weekend to go.  The crowds weren't bad and the weather wasn't bad enough to keep us from having fun.

Goodbye Disneyland we will see you next year.  Same time and same place!!!!

Spring Break: Disneyland

The weather reports were all saying rain today so we had to get the day started early.  We started out on the run with a quick breakfast at Denny's, bag check through security, and into the park.  The kids were ready for Indiana Jones or at least fast passes.  Surprise!!!! there was only a 5 minute wait with another 5 minute walk through the maze.  Ryder was nervous about finally being able to ride the one ride he couldn't before.

We all survived and even found the elevator for those rider's who can't manage the stairs.  The lines weren't bad and we were able to ride everything they wanted to some even twice.

Haunted Mansion

Thunder Mountain Railroad

We found the crowds in Tomorrowland.  How about Star Tours???

Our happy group @ Star Tours

HyperSpace Mountain aka Space Mountain
My least favorite ride in the park and I had to ride with Ryder & Bryana.  Dave couldn't ride due to the lap bar and the girls refused.  Off we went. It was ok for a one time only for me.  It was better than the previous version.  Ryder begged Rylee to give it a try and with a lot of persuasion they got fast passes.

Time for the Matterhorn single rider style.   How long will we be able to last?  The clouds are starting to roll in.
