Kneeboarding School.....

Is now in session with a new student.  Happy Pioneer Day the lake was empty, the water was like glass, and it was time to knee-board.  First they have to get into the water.

Is it cold???
Just take a look at Reganne's face for the answer.

Triple Threat...
Knee-board, Ryder, and Dacoda

Dacoda attempting by himself.

Next up Ryder

Last but not least....Dave doing his tricks.

Time for another lesson.

Positioning is everything.
The boys did awesome.  Each one trying it multiple times until finally getting on and sitting up.  Dave has a lot of patience when teaching something he loves to do.  They are all eager to go again and practice some more.

The water was getting a little choppy time for.......

Waters & Wheelers Campout

We were all ready for our annual camping trip this year.  Getting out of the heat was our main objective along with getting away from electronics.

Dinner and a show
Everyone was ready except for a minor glitch.
We only brought kid movies.
Minion time!!!
Beautiful morning for fishing
Reganne & Ryder each caught one.  Rylee tried but her pole had issues.
Another new activity...Card Games
The Go Fish Champion
Everyone had a game to share.
Go Fish, BS, Trash, War, and Spoons.
Which one are they playing??

Bonding in the rain.
Or hail
We knew the forecast, but we weren't expecting the hail, thunder, or lightening.
They were getting too close time to run to the motor home.
While it poured the card games moved inside along with the cheese balls.
Bad weather equals snacking.
After a couple of hours the rain stopped and everyone was ready for dinner.
Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Dessert.....Peeps

Nothing tastes better than Ooey, Gooey, Warm, and Chewy Peeps.
Dacoda's favorite Sour Watermelon.

It was great weekend a little damp, new activities, no injuries, and scary stories around the fire.  The kids are already talking about next years trip.  I know have piles of laundry awaiting me and they all smell like campfire.

Until next year.....

Saturday Fun Day

Here we are again at the middle of summer and we haven't made it to the lake yet to play.  That was going to change today.  We headed off early so as to catch the best water.

I remember the scrunchy this year.
She refused to use it.

Ryder wanted to slow down but everyone else screamed faster.

First in the water. How is it?
COLD!!!
Rylee asked Dad to teach her to knee board.
She did it!!!!
It was amazing to see her patiently keep trying until she succeeded.
He still has it!!!
The kids were impressed by his jumping.
It took me a few times around the lake before I got the speed right.
Kneeboard School is now open.
Ryder was not to eager to try.
Reganne's turn
She hung on and maybe next trip she will try it again.
Tub Time
Those faces don't look like we were having fun.
We did have fun and kept it up for awhile.
Solo Ride
The rest of us were tired yet she was begging for more.
The morning was great for our first trip.  However, the winds picked up and we quickly got off.  Everyone was hungry and ready for lunch.  We need to fit in more trips before the season ends.

Time for Fireworks!!!

It was raining so no swimming for these kids.  However, they still fun things to do.

Jumping on the trampoline in the rain.

They love Uncle Ryan's ice cream.
He always has awesome flavors and so many to choose from.
Poppers
Who is going to pickup all the papers?
Not MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE came the answers.
Is there an adult out there with all that smoke?
Yes, Uncle Randy and having a blast along with the kids.
Ending the show with sparklers.
We had a great holiday weekend, loved spending time with family, and just plain having fun.

Too bad we have such a long drive home and church starts at 9:00 it was time for bed.

Happy Birthday America

We have the perfect way to celebrate the 4th of July and it surprises everyone.  Lagoon is the place to be and this year we brought along family to enjoy the day together.  Everyone asks about the crowds and we say what crowds.  Time to enjoy the day!!!!

Do these kids look ready to have some fun??

Riding the Ferris Wheel and trying to enjoy it.

Trying new rides

Surviving new rides.

Enjoying favorites...The Train

These are the only 2 that can still ride the smaller rides.
I love the smiles of pure joy.
This girl can smell tigers.
He was missing from the train ride, but she found him relaxing in a shady cage.

He even put on a show for her.
Showing his teeth and pacing back and forth.
After riding all the rides they could find and enjoying them multiple time (15 times) on their favorites it was time to head back to Stansbury Park with the bribery of swimming.

Oops!!!! was that rain we saw on the way??? Yes, hopefully it will clear up for fireworks later.

Exploring Close to Home

It was the end of the week time to head up North to take Morgan home and celebrate the 4th of July. Another road trip calls for more exploring.  This time we stopped in Fillmore at the Territorial State Museum.  First it was time for lunch and we must get a taste of the local fair.  However, we don't recommend "Garden of Eatin" at one of local motels.  The service was really slow and the food wasn't good either.  We had 3 hours to explore before it closed for the night.

Girls posing under protest.

The creepy hallway.
This reminded us the Haunted Mansion @ Disneyland.
It was actually pioneer pictures of Fillmore residents.

Replica of a jail room.
This is one of the uses this building was used for.
It was the State house, a prison, a school, and a hiding place for the Deseret News printing press.

The upstairs
Watching video clips about the construction of the building.

Catching a breath of cool air.
This building doesn't have air conditioning.
All the windows upstairs were open trying to catch a breeze.

The kids weren't impressed in fact they thought it was really creepy inside.  I loved walking around reading the different descriptions in each room.  It is always amazing to learn more about the amazing people that settled this state under such harsh conditions.  Hopefully someday the kids will appreciate it too.

Time to hit the road for more adventures.

Morgan's Visit

We were so lucky to have Morgan come visit us for a week.  However, she may not have been as lucky.  It was the warmest week of the year so far with temperatures reaching near 115 degrees on 3 of the 7 days.  The other 4 were not much cooler.  Everyone stayed inside playing games, barbies, and watching movies.  The most fun was staying in their pj's all day.

At the end of the day when the temperatures were still raging it was time to cool off.

Slushies
They devoured them and had the smiles to match.
After staying up all night or at least until 4:30 am they needed some physical activity to wear them out.  Water + Sun + Fresh Air = TIRED KIDS!!!

Bouncing each other off.

Climbing on the jungle gym

Swings
Thanks Dacoda for stepping in to push.

Splash Pad
How did they get up there?
It was a crazy hour running around crazy and it worked like a charm.  Everyone went to bed on time and slept all night.  Not a peep or squeak from anyone.

We were glad that Morgan was able spend the week with us.  Next year hopefully we can have a little more fun without all the heat.  Hopefully she will want to come back.
