Quick Trip to Bear Lake

Since we were driving this trip let's take the scenic route on home and visit my sister Sharai and her family.  We tried to program the GPS but without an exact address it wanted us to go down I-15.  Instead we took our chances and saw some pretty scenery.  We even found a car show that had some amazing cars that Dave really enjoyed looking at and even drooling a little.  We finally made it to Garden City and met up at Bear Lake Pizza.

Reganne made a new friend/Cousin Evie
Good pizza and a good visit with Sharai, Jordan, and Evie
Time to pose and trying to keep their eyes open long enough to take the picture.
My little sister.
I guess I will always be the smallest one in my family.  But I will never let them forget that I am the older sister.

We had a great visit and we were glad they took time out of their busy schedule to have dinner with us.    Little did we know that it was their busiest weekend of the year.  Thanks Jordan & Sharai for spending time with our crazy family.

Breakfast, Games, and Fun!!!

for everyone.  The Colorado Johnson's made a delicious breakfast for everyone. Time to visit and thanks to Jenny for making a Pirate Treasure Hunt for the kids.

Their off and looking for the pirate's treasure.
Keep looking...
What will they find next?
Aunt Janelle was the last stop.  Talk pirate and get a treat.
This pirate looks pretty scary to me.  Would you let him ride home with you?

We had a great visit with everyone but it was time to head home for us.  We had a few stops and surprises for the kids.  Hopefully they will sleep for awhile.

Down on the Farm

and time for lunch and relax for awhile.  The kids were ready to play and have fun with so many kids to play with.

Getting to know you games or rather the M&M game.
Oops Ryder & Reganne took to many and quickly dumped them into my cup.  Which only had 3.
Crazy Carla volunteering to take my kids on four wheeler rides.
She made a friend for life with Ryder.
Wait for me!!!!!
and we're off.
The ride didn't last long enough for the kids
Back at the hotel to swim.
Is it cold or are they fighting??? The water was really cold.

A little blurry, but that's my best action shot.

Everyone was exhausted after a busy day and there were fireworks still to go.  They happened later than planned due to a storm that rolled thru.  They didn't disappoint and time for bed.

Happy Birthday America!!!

I have always said that the only place to celebrate the 4th of July is in Idaho and they do it up right.  This year with the Johnson Family Reunion I was able to relive some of my favorite memories and share them with my family.  One thing I couldn't recreate for them is the long ride into town in the wagon pulled by the horses.  This wagon was pulled by Uncle Alton's truck.

Grandpa & Grandma's Doc Buggy
Ryder James & Brinton James both named after Grandpa

Grandma JeanAnn & Uncle Murrell getting to ride in the buggy.
Wait!!! We know these people!!
It's Dad, Aunt Janelle, and Grandpa
Reganne having fun and making new friends.
This is fun Mom.
Trip down memory lane and Rupert's downtown.
I believe this store was once Roper's Western Store marked by the horse on top of the door.
The town movie theater...How many movies did we watch while
visiting?

Walking the parade route with Carla

Tired out, out of candy, and ready to ride.

The first church I remember going to and the only one that the Catholic church backs up te to the parking lot.
During primary we would look out the windows and watch them come out of church.  We were also very curious about the Nunnery (this is what we called it) and always tried to catch a peek at the nuns.

It was a great morning and everyone had a great time.  What's next on the agenda?

Hi Ho, Hi Ho.....

It's off to Idaho we go for the Johnson Family Reunion and 4th of July Celebration.  We decided to drive this trip and enjoy the time together and go at our own pace.  We loaded up after breakfast and hit the road. After a few pit stops along the way we made it finally to Spanish Fork and lunch.  We were happy the Randy and Janelle were ready for lunch as well and met us at Wendy's.

Lunch was quickly over and the kids loaded up ready for the next part of the trip.

Idaho here we come.............................................

4th Annual IT Summer Party

Summer has finally come to town and is here to stay for the next couple of months.  The weathermen keep predicting 105 to 115 temperatures all week and beyond.  However, they always downplay what it actually will be by knocking off 5 degrees or more keeping it under 115.  Friday afternoon readings were anywhere between 115 to 120 depending where you were at.

I have an amazing boss who has a cabin in Pine Valley and invites everyone up for an afternoon of good food, fun games, and no stress from work.  Dave had to work but we weren't going to miss the chance to get out of this heat so off we went.

85 wonderful degrees greeted us.
Games to play.
Bounce house to jump in and a pesky little brother dogging your heals.
Grandpa Jim organizing games for the kids and cooking the food.
I am not sure who had more fun Jim or the kids, but everyone had smiles
Ice cream for dessert with new friends.

IT people can be pretty dull and sit around talking about computers.  However, their kids know how to have fun and soon everyone is having a good time.  The kids played until the very last minute and then left kicking and screaming.  We were greeted by 101 @ 9:00 pm.  Time for bed and pray that it will be cooler tomorrow.
