Closing Out January..

I must be getting old because time is moving much faster.  January is the longest month of the whole year and it just zoomed by.   Once again a few more pictures to make me miss the last 31 days.

Her favorite place to
catch a nap after a crazy day at school.

It's an early morning
hopefully a perfect day to attend the temple.

Love this boy so glad
that he is worthy, willing, and eager
to attend the temple.
Ryder & I did the ordinances.
Dave was able to officiate.

Practicing her dance moves
She will knock them dead  with her grace.
It's now time to look forward to February and hopefully a little warmer weather.  It has been rainy and very cold.  Rylee keeps praying for summer.  I'm praying for it to be warmer.  Either way February means it will be a move towards both our goals.

Mesquite Car Show

Dave has been working really hard to get the Nova ready for the first car show of the new year.  All that was left to was to have good weather for travel.  After a few trips everything was setup and ready to show.  Saturday was Ryder's day to hang out and have fun with Dad & Travis.

This boy was in his element

More to see.

Doesn't it look great

Travis' truck
After a fun & busy day the boys made it home a little sunburned but with a lot of stories to tell.  Sunday was Rylee's turn to spend the day.  She however was a little tired after her busy day and late night at Jr Prom.

Rylee & Steve Darnell
from Welder Up Show.

Checking out the rat rod as well.
They didn't win any prizes but were able to spend time together doing something they all enjoy.  Everyone was a little exhausted from all that we packed into the 3 days.  Monday couldn't come fast enough.  That is a really bad sign when your weekend is crazier than the week days.

2019 Honors Choir

Reganne was excited to participate in Honor Choir @ DSU.  They had spent all day Friday working with other middle schools in the district on new music.  They were able to be at the college with their professors learning, singing, and having fun.  Saturday morning at 9 they were all back at it again.

After working all morning and earned a well deserved break.  They all had to rest up for concert tonight.

Found her on the back row.
Lucky her!!!

They sounded really great after only 2 days of practice together.  Reganne had fun hanging out with her friends and making new ones.  It was fun seeing her enjoying herself.

She stood still for a picture.
It was a good show of both the high school choir & middle school choir.  The kids are really talented and Reganne has a great voice and hopefully she will continue to develop it.

DHHS Jr Prom

It was time to get the show on the road.  She looked amazing and I wanted to her feel amazing too.   I also wanted her to have a lot of fun.

Then I got a text message....

Smiles!!!
They were all having fun.
She did have a lot of fun.  The group was very welcoming and made her feel comfortable.  We didn't have to worry about the curfew she was home at midnight.

I got my request of pictures before 1:00 am.  For all the rushing around craziness they all looked great.   When asked for a rating of her day on a scale of 1-10??  A very solid 8.  That spells success to me.

Getting Ready

Saturday morning came at us at full speed.  Dave & Ryder were headed to Mesquite for day 2 of the car show.  Rylee was headed off for her day date with Will.  Reganne had a full day with Honors Choir at DSU.  What was I going to do with some free time.  Errands!!!

When I think everything is running smoothly and right on schedule.... BAM!!!! Everything starts changing.  We have a hair emergency!!! Prom pictures were being moved up to 3:30.  Hair appointment was at 3:00.  Please fix it.  Thank goodness for cell phones that modern convenience that wasn't working to well for me.  Everyone was busy, out of town, or not available.  I even sent out an SOS on Facebook.

When all else fails maybe Mom can rescue the situation.  I have been doing hair for over 40 years and hopefully have a few tricks.  We were doing good until Reganne got home and promptly said where's the curls??

Time to relax & eat

Relaxing

Amazing!!!
She looks gorgeous.

I may not get a couples picture
but I will take a selfie.
My day may not have gone as planned.  We survived and she was off to the Jr Prom.

Snow Melt Swim Meet

This is the kickoff event for a very busy weekend.  The Snow Melt Swim Meet was going to be fun and Ryder was up for the challenge.  His goal tonight is to complete is IMX Requirements for the season.  He was also excited to see a couple of friends that have moved up to the more advanced team.

Lets get this meet started.....

List of events
All 200's

Legal touch  & flip turn

Backstroke

Breast Stroke
Dave made it just in time from the car show in Mesquite to watch all of his events.  He pushed himself and completed them all without dying.  The fun part was swimming against his fellow teammates.   Ryder went from 3rd to 1st due to DQ's.

Perfect shoes for the pool.
Not so much for outside.
I think they were icicles by the time I made
it to the van.
Ryder was one exhausted boy by the time he finished.  He was very anxious for the results but he knew it would take at least a couple of days before they would be posted.

It took a little longer....

Event #2 200 Butterfly Male 11-12  4.07.66  1st Place
Event #4 200 Backstroke  Male 11-12  3.12.76  3rd Place
Event #6 200 Breaststroke  Male 11-12  3.58.88  3rd Place

He completed his IMX and all with good times.  These were first time time events which makes it even better.

Time to get some food and get some sleep.  He is going with Dave to the car show.
