Spring Break 2015.......

Let's go to Lake Powell and explore.  However, we got side tracked in Kanab looking for lunch instead we found a few interesting things to check out.

Dave pulled the van over and off we went to explore this cave.

Inside one branch of the cave.
This used to be the local bar for the locals.
The amazing glowing pictures & Reganne's Sweater.

This side of the cave has where they held dances.

Front entrance and gift shop.
Outside the cave.
An amazing place to visit.

This was a great spot to start exploring our home.  Everyone was really hungry now.  Hopefully Dave will find somewhere for us to stop.

Spring Break 2015.....

Tuesday dawned early for me but not so much for the kids.  It also brought sore muscles that could be felt for days.  Let's see what we can do on our Stay-cation.

Take the dogs to the park.  That lasted a total of 20 minutes before boredom set in.  The dogs were even to tired to move.  Dexter wanted to go home and almost made it before Rylee caught up to him at the baseball fields.

Wednesday time to visit Fiesta Fun for bowling.

How big is that ball??
The smallest they had was 6 pounds.  Hopefully, he will share with me.

Go Rylee!!!
She was grossed out with the though of wearing shoes that everyone else does.
Good News the shoes are all new since they only opened up a couple of days before.

Group photo
Let's do this again.  Time to play games.
Thank goodness I brought my book.  They played for another hour trying to win tickets for small prizes.
Finally, dinner at Culver's with ice cream for dessert.

Thursday, Yogartland.
No pictures please!!!!

Friday, Movie Matinee
&
Food Truck Friday

Lunch at the food trucks was lost on the kids.  They each ate 1/2 of their corn dogs and were ready for the movie.  Mine was a yummy green chili tamale w/ rice & beans.  We all left room for popcorn.  "Night At The Museum" was a good pick for an afternoon show.

We survived the week but what can we do for the weekend to have fun as a family?

Spring Break 2015....

Rylee kept her promise and slept until 11:00,  Reganne scored one as well and Ryder was bored out of his mind.  Let's kick off with another swim afternoon.  While the kids swam I tried a new class "Ab/Fab"  aka Kickboxing and due to it being spring break I was the only person taking there.  I had a one on one class and it really kicked my butt.

As I dragged by tired body back to the pool the kids were ready to leave as well.

Let's star gaze and check out the planets in the night sky.  We gazed at Jupiter and found Venus as well.  I was pooped but the kids were still ready to play.

Spring Break 2015

This year we weren't leaving town but having a stay-cation at home.  The kick off even was hosted by the PTA a Family Swim Night at WCCC.  Playing with friends, neighbors, and family then eating waffles from Waffle Bliss what a night.  Quick note the waffles were ok but not fabulous enough to give up dinner for.

Who can do the best handstand??

Time for a closeup.
Saturday was basketball camp for Reganne at the high school.  She had fun with the other kids and even learned a new skill or two.  She shared one on how to hustle the ball away from the others.

Sports Trivia Game
We really need to study more along with all the other kids.

All hands in with a camp cheer.

Had fun and made a few new friends.
And renewed her love of the game.
During the camp Ryder & I had a breakfast date at Kneaders.

Yummy Breakfast!!!
What's up with that tooth?  Will it ever fall out???

All this activity before Spring Break actually starts.  What can we do to match this?  Rylee suggested sleeping all day.  Reganne suggested  playing Minecraft all day.  I couldn't pin Ryder down to one idea but the main thing is playing with friends.

We maybe in for a long week.  Stay tuned......

Yummy Chocolaty Treats

Sunday is our day to relax and eat yummy treats.  This week was homemade KitKat Bars.  Each person had their job breaking crackers, crushing crackers, and spreading the gooey mess.

The best part  LICKING THE BOWL!!!!

Yummy Chocolate
Rylee was helping too but she was to cool to lick the bowl or get caught on camera.

Did any get inside your tummy?

Yep!!! I dove right in.

Oops we forgot to take a picture but it was sure yummy and a keeper.  They were gone by Tuesday and that is only because I hid them in the freezer.

I love baking with these guys.

SNOW!!!!!

This must have followed us home from up North.  What a surprise to wake up to white stuff everywhere.  We turned the radio on to wait for news about schools.  The downside of living in Southern Utah is that there is very limited snow removal equipment.  The main roads become the priority which means possible problems for all the school buses getting the kids safely to school.

Just as Dave pulled into the school parking lot the report was school was open but it was up to parents they wanted to brave the weather and let their kids go.  No one would be marked absent or tardy.  Dave promptly told Rylee to hit the road.

Scrapping the windows???

Happy Monday
Interesting fact was the week before the weatherman were saying there was going to be snow.  We were at 70 degrees Friday.  They got it right we had approx 3 inches of the white stuff.

We promised Ryder he could build a snowman after school.  Oops!!!! the snow was melted there is always next time.

Visiting The Aquarium

Who knew we were going to visit all the cousins again in a week.  Dave decided it was a road
trip weekend and to the 4 wheeler to it's new home.  Promises were made to have some fun along the way.  That fun was going to be visiting the Living Aquarium in Sandy.

Don't touch!!!!
When did they change the sign so you can't be the stingrays?

Hold on tight across the bridge.

4D movies one half of our group.

The other half.
We are ready for the fun.

My favorite....Penguins
I could watch these guys forever.

Where are the smiles?  Such serious faces from these two silly girls.
I loved walking around with them exploring each tank.
They loved the seahorses the most.

Yikes!!!! Shark!!!!!
I am glad there is glass between him and us.

The kids were all wound up time head to Emily & Ryan's and play with all the cousins again.  Thanks for letting us come and visit you so soon.

Cousin Fun @ Zions

We needed some outdoor fun to round out this weekend.  It was free admission to all national parks.  Off to Zions Canyon we go for fresh air, exercise, and exploring new trails.  First up was Weeping Rock hike the marker said easy hike.  We were all in.

Picture time

We made it.
Look at all the water.

Wow amazing to watch the water fall
and
getting wet.  Too bad it wasn't warmer.

Group picture with wiggly kids.

Time for another hike

Die hard hikers.
This hike was supposed to be moderate.  It was too much for half of us.

Hidden Canyon
These two made is as far as the Dad's would let them go.

If the objective was to wear them out we failed.  The kept running, screaming, and squealing until they fell asleep which was a lot longer than the Moms wanted.  I think the parents were worn out and ready for food and a nap.

What a fun weekend it was sad seeing everyone leave and go back to school & work.  Let's hope we can get together soon for more adventures.

Valentine's Concert

Reganne was so excited to have another concert with the choir.  They worked so hard with many early morning practices to get ready.  After playing all day with the cousins she should have been worn out.  Instead she was ready to go along with her friend Kiah.

Getting in position and smiling as us,

Final sound check
We reminded Reganne that the first time she attended this concert she was 4 years old and complained about how loud the piano was and to please turn it down.

James O'Neal Miner once again put on a good show. The kids were wonderful.  As everyone got up to leave after their performance the girls sat there and listened to the whole show.  I was so proud of them patiently waiting until it was over to get up to leave.

The show was finally over and on our way out the door Mr. Miner's Wife complimented the girls on staying until the end and being so polite.

It was a proud mamma moment and I had a smile on my face that nothing could erase.

Time to go home for bed.....NOT!!!!

Fun Filled Weekend

We were so excited to have company on the long President's Weekend and hopefully have some fun times together.  Along with the fun comes a lot of noise and there is always someone to play with.  Our first stop was the Children's Museum once through the door they scattered in every direction.  I was able to snap some random shots as they raced up, down, right, and left.

Boys delivering the mail.

Girls on stage.

What a model!!!
She can strike a poise better than anyone I know.

Group picture...Oops photo bombed by a random little boy in the room.
His dad started laughing and our kids kept on moving.

Another group shot
Missing Morgan and Gracie fascinated by the strange fireman.
Time to go!!!
Yet we were missing Gracie.
Let's play Sardines while we wait.  Time to count.

The Mom's were pooped yet the kids still had energy spare.  What can we do next?   How about a nap?  They promptly replied that they were too old for one of those.  It is a good thing that they love playing together I was ready for a nap.

4th Grade Utah Studies Project

One of the most memorable activities from 4th Grade has to be "The Rendezvous".  The kids start working on different projects to prepare for the big day after Christmas break.  This year is no different Reganne's class started out earning beaver pelts and were determined to get as many as they could and since you have a lot of pelts you need something to care them in.

It was time to make their wallets.  The call went out for parents to help out in class.  What a fun way to spend my lunch than with these crazy kids + needles+ thread+imitation leather= smiles.

It was so much fun watching them try so hard to make the best wallet possible.  Even better was see those smiles when the accomplished it.  Even better was seeing all the parents helping out.  There were moms, dads, and even grandmas.

I am a sucker for a smile, hug, and a thank you.

Valentine Boxes

Valentines Day was right around the corner Ryder was excited to make his box for his class party.  Reganne was unsure what her class was doing and Rylee wanted to help.  Time to plan and get supplies.  We recruited Dad to help out since I have no talent in decorating.

Ryder's Box

A full box

Reganne's box

It's fun to see the excitement of another holiday and the eagerness to make their friends happy.  Rylee helped out and then took the leftover cards with her to school and handed them out to her friends or kids that needed a friend for the day.  She even came home with a few of her own.

The sad part is I look forward to all the treats that come home and this year they ate them all before I could grab any.  All they left me was the paper.  I had better be quicker next year.
