Happy Grandparents Day

One quick way to tell that school is back in session. I don't have as many pictures on Sunday or multiple posts. This weekend we tried to different activities. Lowe's Build and Grow: School Bus and that was a disaster. There were tears, stomping feet and that was only from me. Needless to say they didn't turn out. Everyone was frustrated so of course we were off to Michaels Craft. They were celebrating Grandparent's Day by making a handprint with Model Magic Clay. It was an easy project and took about 10 minutes to complete. The smiles reappeared as you can tell by the pictures.

They loved it and we hope to be sending them to the grandparents. Not until Grandparents Day which isn't until September 12th.

I want to be a haircutter.

These words should have been a warning to me. Instead I told Reganne that sounded great. We thought we were safe with the haircutting thing. We have talked and talked about not cutting your hair. Only Shauna can cut your hair.

Reganne has had a teacher at daycare fix her hair for kindergarten. It looks so cute but is full of small elastics and various little pony tails. On Friday, Dave got home before me and told the girls he would take them to the splash pad before dinner. They rushed to get their suits on. Reganne loves her hair down in the water. She is a big girl and can do it by herself.

She came to a small ponytail that she knew would hurt coming out. So she went and got Dad's small mustache scissors and cut the pony tail out instead of the elastic.

The ponytail, found in the garbage can.

I got home shortly afterwards and she ran to give me a hug. She promptly showed me that she took her hair out all by herself. That is when I really looked and noticed that on top of her head the hair was standing straight up and was only about 1/2 inch long. I let out a scream. WHAT DID YOU DO!!! She promptly told me and started to cry. Dad started to yell and rounded up all the scissors and took them away.

Dad was mad, Reganne was sad, and I finally told them both that it was only hair and would grow back. Her punishment is she can't grow out her bangs until it grows out enought to blend in. No more wearing it down. It is family haircut night on Monday and hopefully something more can be done.

If not it will grow and it is only hair.

Primary Activity ... Water

The summer primary activity always includes some type of water. This year was no different. Summer Scripture Splash with every activity was tied to a scripture story.

They had matching headbands for the groups. Sunscreen was the first scripture and the first stop for protection.

Samuel the Lamenite ... Wall Crawl
They were supposed to sing the verse from Book of Mormon Stories and try to squirt each other. However, that worked with the younger groups. Water fight only with the older ones.

There were so many water games to play the kids had a great time. We ended with a huge water fight or battle. It ended with otter pops.
The kids were hot, exhausted, but all smiles.

Finally .... First Day of Kindergarten

This day finally arrived. Reganne has been waiting so patiently for Kindergarten to start. Wednesday morning arrived and she was ready. She woke up early, got dressed, ate breakfast, and got her backpack. She was all set. However, she is in afternoon kindergarten.

I am ready ... Let's get going !!!

I picked her up early from daycare with plans of spending a little time with her before school. Then taking our time on the first day. She promptly told me that if I had time to run home before school. I should not have picked her up so early and I could take her back.

We arrived at school in plenty of time and of course all the little boys were there already playing. The little girls were all having pictures taken at the front door, with the teacher, and at their desks. Reganne clung to me and asked me to wait. I know a lot of the mothers and started to talk. I turned around and Reganne was playing with another little girl. She then told me I could leave and this was her new best friend.

She was so tired that night, but had a smile on her face. She can't tell you what she learned that day, but she wants to go back. This is a good sign.

The next day when I picked her up. I asked her if she wanted me to go inside with her. No, Mom I can walk in by myself. Mom, are you sad that I don't want you to walk me in? I told her no I was proud of her for being a big girl. Are you sure your not sad? No, Reganne just give me a kiss and a smile.

We pulled up in front of the school. She grabbed her pack pack, gave me a kiss, a hug, and jumped out of the car. With a quick wave and smile she was off to her 2nd day of school.

I pulled away with a lump in my throat and a smile.

Gone Hiking - Dixie Rock

Dave's vacation is winding down as all vacations do. We need to get out of the house and outside. Even if it was only for a short time. All week the weather has been go great almost as if a touch of fall was in the air. Of course it is way to early for that. Saturday they promised the weather would be hot again. We were disappointed. We took a picnic lunch to Dixie Rock and then hiked around a different spot from last time.

Mom!! I can see the whole world !! Reganne yelled down at me.
I am king of the whole world !!!

Picnic lunch of KFC chicken and a quick trip to the bushes with Ryder.

My Helper... He love throwing things in the garbage can. "See Mom I can do it"

Trying to come down from the top of the world. It was a little harder coming down than going up.

Ryder wanted to go on a big boy hike with Dad. Not a baby hike with Mom.

Everyone was hot and tired. Off to the library and home to rest. NOT!!!

Washington Country Fair 2010

We love going to the county fair each year. It is a small fair, but full of activities, and a lot of people.

In the agriculture building Reganne spotted the displays of fruit. Look Mom at all these grapes. Can I try some? Oops I forgot to remind her that everything in here was too look at not to touch or taste. Thus, the hands behind her back.

The kids look forward to the FFA Petting Zoo. Ryder wanted to go inside the goat pen with the girls. He was fine until the goats started coming towards him and they were eye to eye. He let out a scream and started to cry. This didn't faze the goat it still moved towards him. Luckily the attendant grabbed him and handed him back to me.

The soft bunnies that could really hop away.

Kick a ball and see how fast you kick.

Face painting one for each cheek. Flower, horses, unicorns, pink race cars, and a John Deer Tractor.

On to the pony rides. After waiting until they saddled up the horse and readjusted everything twice. The pony was ready to go. Reganne chattered the whole time. Rylee smiled and waved. Ryder just grinned from ear to ear.

Reganne chattered the whole ride.

Rylee was all smiles and waves.

Ryder held on tight and grinned from ear to ear.
Rylee was disappointed that she couldn't ride behind him and hold him. The attendants took over and let him ride big boy style.

Everyone had a great time and now it was time to go home and bedtime.

Last Day of Summer Camp 2010

Summer camp was full of wonderful adventures and great friends. The field trips, the water fights, the great teachers, and of course the great friends. This was the year of Pokemon Cards, DS Systems, and riding in the oven.

Rylee & Ms. Trisha

Ms. Trisha, Rylee, Audrey, Kami Kay, Kayla
Only a few of my summer camp friends.

See everyone back next year.

I am in the Big Kid Class

We knew that Ryder would be changing classes in August. However, I wasn't prepared for him to move so early in the month. We are still working on potty training and he does really well. However, changing classes means a different bathroom. I didn't want him to revert back.

Tuesday morning came and he was ready to be a big kid. He officially moved to the Three's Room with a lot of his friends. His teachers are Ms. Ashley & Ms. Amber. They are full of excitement and positive attitude with 15 three year olds.

Do I look like a big kid?

Do I act like a big kid?

I am not sure who was more excited Ryder or the girls. This will be the only time they are together in school/daycare. Except for summer vacations. The Threes are over on the same side as the bigger classes. So they all share a playground. Of course Reganne wouldn't pose for the picture.

He had a blast!! He did really well with the bathroom only one accident, because he forgot while playing outside.

First Day of Third Grade

It's hard to believe that summer vacation has come to an end. Schools seems to start earlier each year. This year has brought more complaints from parents as well as children. They really aren't ready to be back just yet. Summer camp ended on Tuesday and school started on Wednesday.

The usual excitement and nerves appeared on Wednesday morning as she was preparing for school. Dad took her to school and Rylee discovered that she did indeed know at least 5 people in her class. She quickly settled in with her friends and the nerves disappeared.

A Third Grader

This year is going to be filled with multiplication tables, book reports, and cursive writing. Her favorite part of the day was being back with her friends and playing.

August Mini Vacation - Afterwards

Since camping was cut short due to the rain. We decided breakfast at McDonalds and then to Home Depot for the monthly project.

The project was a School Bus Desk Organizer. This one was a little harder to build. They needed adult help and supervision.

Let's be crazy !!

Reganne wanting to build it herself, but needing Dad's help.

Wow !! Stickers, wait I have to build it first?

Watch out for your fingers Dad.

It was a fun morning with the whole family participating. We even stopped and looked at trailers. Maybe next year.

It then rained most of the day. We love the rain this time of year it cleans everything. But, it doesn't cool down at all.

August Mini Vacation - Camping

After much delibration on what we would do for our mini vacation in August. The kids picked camping. This is not my favorite activity, but an overnight camping trip might be fun for everyone. So much for my planning this vacation. Who knew that you had to make reservations weeks in advance for Friday nights. We decided to try anyway and off we went. The first three campgrounds were indeed full. The Camp Host told us that most spaces fill up by Noon on Friday.

As we were driving back down the mountain. Dave noticed trails off the side of the road. After three attempts we found a perfect spot.

Finally, we are camping. Just like the pioneers.

One view, not many trees, but a gorgeous view.

Another angle what a view and sunset.

Trying to get the girls to pose. I need to blow this one up as a reminder they do like each other.

Helping Dad with the tent.

Trying to help Dad, but we have to poke each other.

Dad finishing up the tent. We don't want it to blow away.

Camp Dinner .... Subway Sandwiches.... Their favorite Meatball Sandwich.
No fires or fireworks allowed dinner had to be something that didn't require cooking. Subway won and they ate all of it.

We survived!!!
The kids weren't interested in staying up late they wanted to sleep in the tent.

It's time to wake up and get dressed !!
We woke up to clouds, thunder, and lightening. So the pack up was quick with breakfast later.
Things we learned on this trip. Ryder learned to pee on the bush. Reganne learned to pee outside as well. There were sticker plants all around. Rylee loves to watch the sunsets.
Who knows we might try this again.

The Big Boy Room

After eight years of the same baby decorations for all three kids. They came down. Ryder's room needed to become a little boy room. Full of the things he likes. Airplanes, Trains, Cars, Elmo, and books.

Dad finally had fun decorating it after I bought most of the stuff.

Airplanes & Cars decorate the walls and dresser

Monster Trucks, balls, books, and more cars for the bookshelf

Cars Toy Box... This was Dave's toy box when he was a boy. He rescued it a couple of months ago from his Mom & Dad's house. He repainted it black and covered it in Cars print. Ryder love it and calls it his other bed.

The perfect little boys room. There is a model train over the window that I missed. The curtains when closed really darken the room and he sleeps much better.
