Wisdom

Once in almost everyone's life we all lose a little wisdom.  Wisdom teeth that is.  Rylee & Reganne have both been complaining how theirs are hurting can we please get them out.  Checking around to various offices I was impressed with Simply Wisdom which specializes in wisdom teeth removal.  The girls were scheduled for the first appointments of the morning 6:00am.  Yes AM!!! Thank goodness this doesn't require getting dressed up  or makeup.  We were right on time, found the office, took xrays, paid our money, and the girls were off to their scary adventure.  Hopefully, losing some wisdom.  Dave & I headed back to the car and waited....

It sure is dark.
We started the waiting, wondering, and praying that
all was going smoothly.  Second guessing where to park, could
they find us when they were finished?

First one finished.
Still completely knocked out.
Thank goodness Dave was there he
could lift her up into the Hummer.

Second one done.
She is more coherent.  She could climb into the Hummer
with a little assistance.
No pictures please!!!
We couldn't understand her and we definitely need documentation.

I tried once again to document with a
blurry picture that is was only 7:05.  The Hummer
wouldn't cooperate with me.
We are headed home.

Found a comfy spot!!
They are a handful!! Rylee muttering and watching "New Girl".  Reganne chattering and complaining about Rylee's muttering.  Thankfully we all crashed for a couple of hours and all was quiet.

Time for food, medicine, and pain killers.  Ice cream, mashed potatoes & gravy, and more ice cream. More sleep and medicine.  A few tears and a whole lot of complaining about the lack of food.

Day Two!!
She looks amazing!!
The daily routine is firmly in place.  No more ice cream.
How about cottage cheese and mac & cheese.

Waters Pharmacy
Stocked with all required medicines, detailed instructions, and a schedule
of what was taken when.

It's going to be a long weekend and it's only Friday.  Neither one showed much bruising or swelling.  However, they both were complaining about jaw pain.  Three more days of rest, relaxation, and yucky food.  Monday can't come soon enough for me to go back to work.  Everyone else has the day off for President's Day.

It is nice both getting done at the same time.  They can compare notes and share the misery.  Luckily Ryder hasn't lost all of his teeth yet.  Maybe a couple of years at least before we do this again.

2021 Last Chance Meet

Last Chance for what?  This is the final meet of the short course season.  This is also the last meet to qualify for JO's in March.  We headed to Cedar City with the purpose of improving times.  I was officiating so let's hope that everything moves right along and we aren't here until 9.

Ryder loves this pool and is excited to compete.  Dave was worried on where he would be sitting.  It was cold outside and when the sun went down it would be even colder.  Inside seating was available with masks of course.

Take your mark!

Keep on swimming

Saturday Morning
The peace before storm

Mask & Curls
He is ready to give it his all.

I only saw Ryder a couple of times the whole meet.  He chooses to be with his team rather than his parents.  I guess that is what happens as you get older.  He completed all his events and even cut time off.  However, it wasn't enough time to qualify for JO's.  When I asked him if he was upset?  He calmly replied, Nope!! If I made it and then it was cancelled I would be upset.  I am going turn my focus to long course season.  Wow!! to have this attitude and determination.

Male (13 & Over) 100 Backstroke, 1:09.83, 6th Place
Male (13 & Over) 100 Freestyle, 1:02.39, 6th Place
Male (13 & Over) 100 Breast, 1:22.68, 6th Place
Male (13 & Over) 200 Backstroke, 2:33.25, 3rd Place

Everyone had a good time. The next meet is in April.  See you pool side!!

Trying New Things

February is starting out to be a crazy one full of new experiences, treats, and challenges.  The craziness isn't slowing down only picking up.  School is full steam ahead 3rd quarter is at mid term and the SRIS ending 2nd trimester.

#1 new experience or challenge Reganne applied & hired for her first job with Sonic Drive Ins.  I had no idea how busy they are each and every day.  She has really grown up these past couple of weeks with the new things she is learning.  Has also enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends.

New uniform
Why oh why do these pictures always turn out blurry.
Is it me or my subjects moving.

Her first schedule!!!
She is a hard worker and love trying whatever they ask her to do.

Molten Lava Cakes
Easy new recipe, but I over filled the pans.
They sunk but still tasted amazing.
Just add ice cream and everyone was in heaven.

Heart Attack!!
The older class of young women came and
gave Reganne a Heart Attack!!
They were extra quiet since the dogs didn't bark at all.

This is only the first week of February, things are still restricted, town is full, and the weather is crazy.  We have a swim meet, wisdom teeth surgeries, class work, Valentines Day, and President's weekend coming up.  We need to buckle up and hang on for more new things ahead.

January Snap Shots

This is the longest month of the whole year.  After 2020 everyone needs a fresh start.  However, the world doesn't change that fast for anyone.  The pandemic is still raging, politics are still raging as well.  Kindness & unity seem to be missing from the world.  Way too much screaming and not enough listening seems to be the new way to communicate this year.

Things have still been crazy around here with school, swim, work, and friends.

OUCH!!
That is one big sliver Dave pulled out of his hand.
A new project tried to take a bite of him.

Documentation
A picture to share makes the pain fade a little.

Homemade Pancakes
Love Sunday Mornings when church is online.
Thanks to @Amberskitchen for sharing this yummy recipe.
Dave & Ryder snacked on the all day.
There were still a couple left for breakfast on Manday.

Happy Birthday, Blake!!
Loved the cake and loved welcoming him the 50 & Older Gang.

Rylee & Ryder
Ryder is a pain to take to the doctor or dentist.
He can't hold still or be quiet.
Rylee was working and drew the short stick on having to clean his teeth.
Ryder informed us the night before that he hasn't been as good at taking care of his teeth
over the past 6 months.
He wasn't happy having his sister scrape his teeth.

I love penguins!!
This picture showed adolescents having a big fluffy coat.
This is what I have needed this week with all the rain, wind, and even fog.

February is banging on the door and I am ready to let it come in.  Let's have a party!!!

2021 Snowmelt Classic

It's hard to believe that it has been 4 weeks since the last meet.  The holidays are over and the kids are back in the water.  They have been working really hard and hope to see how much they have improved.  This year it's going to be a little different with 6 teams competing instead of the usual 2.  The teams are from California, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, and Utah.  Teams are looking for open meets to allow their kids the opportunity to compete.  We welcomed them with open arms.

Peaceful!!

Check out the curls on top!!

Other angle
I'm enjoying the quiet.
It doesn't last very long.
Warm Ups

Synced with Solmun

It was a great meet full of energy and excitement.  Kids screaming and cheering on their team mates.  There were a few minor technology glitches with the computers, touch pads, and score board.  The delays made for a longer meet.  However, it didn't phase the kids.  They kept on swimming.

  • Male (13-14) 100 Freestyle Relay,      1:12.55
  • Male (13-14) 100 Backstroke Relay    1:13.45
  • Mixed (Open) 200 Back, 15th Place    2:33.40
  • Mixed (13 & Over) 50 Freestyle, 29th Place,    29.41
  • Mixed (11 & Over) 400 IM, 11th Place, 5:45.87
  • Mixed (Open) 1650 Freestyle, 8th Place, 22:56.99
  • Mixed (11 & Over) 200 Breast, 27th Place, 3:04.75
  • Mixed (13 & Over) 500 Freestyle, 15th Place 6:44.14

It's pretty crazy looking at his times and then listening to the conversations about how to improve each event.  The kids dissect their turns, strokes, and streamlines and give ideas on how to improve.  These kids are amazing.  I can't even make it across the pool without dying.

There is once last meet of the Short Course Season in a couple of weeks.  After that its JO / State Championships if they hold them this year.   They are excited!!!
