Final Clean Up of March

Clean up on aisle 3 or rather March....

Cookie Discovery
Mary's Bakery
Large cookies, different flavors, and cheaper than a lot of places.
S'more cookie was ok. Rather messy and not enough chocolate.
M&M cookie lot's of chocolate but the cookie was rather dull.
Onto the next shop.

Well Dexter lost about 5 pounds
in fur. He needed a haircut to go to the vet and then go to the groomers.
I know now why I haven't done this earlier.

Another alert from Power School.
Reganne is absent from Animal Science.
My usual text inquiring where she is.
This was the reply.
Sitting at her table. She was only a couple of minutes late.
She wasn't absent and she shouldn't have been marked that way either.
How many more weeks of school are left? Will we all survive?

Swollen knee
This was my gift that I brought home from Memphis. One that I definitely would give away if I could.
There is supposed to be a new Urgent Care Ortho Clinic in town. Google didn't show anything. Asking everyone if they had ideas.  It took 2 weeks, more Fiber & Spice, and taking the elevator at work. Finally, the day arrives and slowly walk into my appointment.
X-rays, a little poking and prodding.
The verdict...mild arthritis
All that pain was only the beginning. First up an Ultra-sound, draining 25 ml of liquid, then a steroids shot which could last for a long while or a couple of weeks.

Indy giving loves & kisses
while icing my knee.

Vet time!!
His haircut looks pretty good.
$1200 for dental care another $500 or so for medicine for a possible heart murmur.
16 years old and acts like he is 3 most days.
He is now off to the groomers for a shave.

It's been a fun, busy, crazy time. We are go glad we were able to travel to meet Dave's mom and experience Memphis if only for a little while.

DHHS Swim Banquet

High school swim isn't over just yet.  Why not you may ask? That is exactly what Ryder said when I showed him the invite to the banquet.  They have dinner. Ok as long as this is the last thing we have to do for high school swim.  Please don't make me dress up. We had a deal.

Eating with the team.
The one downside to eating with these boys.
They eat all the food before the parents can even get any.

Team Awards

Coach Tami & Kate
These ladies are amazing. They put a lot of work in this season.

Photo Op
Ryder & Sol

Individual Award
A Rising Star...The athlete who continually improves.

He also earned is varsity letter
for swim.
I believe a large percentage of the team earned it this year.
All the freshman team earned theirs.

It was a fun night getting together remembering the highlights of the season. Ryder had a good, extremely busy season. It is 7 months until next season starts. Who knows what he will decided to do at least he gave it a try.

Last Day in Memphis

What and adventure we have had these past couple of days. The exhaustion hasn't set in yet. We still have one important piece of business before heading home. We are meeting Al & Sondra for breakfast in Arkansas.

Good Morning
Everyone finally got a good nights rest.
Just in time to head home.

Who is supposed to be
packing?
Not, Dave his job is to carry everything down to the car.
Then pack the car up.

Driving over the Mississippi.
The bridges are amazing.

Cracker Barrel Breakfast

3 Generation Picture

They all look way too serious.

Inviting Ryder to come
back and visit this summer.
Does he know how to fish?
Not sure, but he does know how to swim.
Side note...there are alligators in the Mississippi River.

Good food and great visit.

It is now time to head back to the airport. We have about 4 hours before the flight leaves. It was great to finally meet Al & Sondra. They were so welcoming . We have been so blessed to have been welcomed into 2 additional families. It is amazing to watch our family grow.

Relaxing while waiting
for our flight.

We are headed home.
Unless they get tired of us hovering near the boarding lines.
This is definitely not standby travel.

Memphis was a great place to visit. It's time to head home and back to everyday life. These next 3 months are going to be very busy.

See you back in St. George.

More Exploring Memphis

I am really not sure what day it is since they have felt like Saturday. After the crazy rain storm last night we are eager to do more exploring. First order of business is finding a good Southern Breakfast. Dave thinks he has found the perfect spot. We are all game to find it and try it.

Biscuits & Gravy
They sure look yummy.

French Toast with a side of bacon

Check out the menu.
The biscuits were light and fluffy.
However, the gravy was nasty. Sweet, grainy, and an odd color.
Ryder tried some and declared that Bishop's was much better.
I agreed and a whole lot cheaper.
Dave & Ryder like theres and finished theirs.

We are full and Ryder found the only car museum in Memphis "Edge Motor Museum" on Marshall Avenue.

Starting of with a guide.

This is going to be fun
checking out all that is downstairs.

Special exhibit just down the hall.
Only 2 cars and nothing special.

Ryder found this car
very fascinating. He studied it for about 1/2 hour.

We came, we saw, and time to move on. How about walking down the street to Sun Records. Maybe catch a tour. We found it without much difficulty since you could see once you walked out the door of the museum. What we didn't expect was the 20 people crammed into the small foyer. Nope, not today. We say a replica at Graceland.

Sun Records
Not at all what we expected from the movies.

Ryder standing still with a slight smile

Loved the street signs

We still had most of the afternoon to explore. I wanted to exchange a couple t-shirts bought yesterday at the Bass Pro Shop. It would also be the perfect time to pickup something for the girls & Ruston. This didn't take too long. How about taking a paddle boat cruise down the Mississippi.

The water looks even dirtier the closer you get to it.

We were cold up on top.
Much warmer down here.

Listening to the tour guide.
He was great with plenty of stories and Memphis trivia

Our souvenir photo
This angle of the boat looked pretty good.

Other tourists doing some dancing.
They were pretty good.

BB King Blvd & Beal Street
It was a crazy place with people everywhere.
We didn't park to get a closer look.

Exhaustion!!
Another day in books.
Fresh air, sunshine, and cooler than usual temperatures.
It was an early night.

Good night!! Breakfast with Al & Sondra and then back to the airport for the trip home.

Exploring Memphis

No time to nap when you are on vacation. Let's go check out Bass Pro Shop @ the Pyramid. How could you not check this one out.

Not a large parking lot

Check out the elevator in the middle

All lite up it looks kinda of scary.

What the heck?
Baby alligators right by the elevator.
Hope they aren't hungry.

Should we give it a try?

Dave was having second thoughts?
Maybe 3rd & 4th ones.

Check out the view
from the look out.
This is much bigger than the Virgin River at home.

We got him to the look out.

Standing his ground.
Don't think about him going an further.

Ryder was game

Selfie time!!
With Dave firmly close to the door.

It ain't no joke.
You may see nail marks in the wood.

Can you say exhaustion? We hit our limit and time to crash.Tomorrow's plans are up in the air. Let's get some sleep and rest up for tomorrow's adventures.
