Spring Soccer: Game 3 vs Team Blue

Soccer Saturday dawned with blue skies and the possibility of 90 degree weather.  What a change from last week with the rain and wind.  Ryder was ready to go and even dressed himself all except those pesky shin guards.

The team this week as Team Blue.  They were quite a bit larger than our boys but they were ready to have fun.  After practicing for 1/2 hour they were ready to play.  It became apparent that they didn't quite get that each team had it's own goal to score in.  All that mattered was getting it in.  Thanks to two smart coaches letting them play and have fun.  Nothing was out of bounds just keep playing.

 Having fun
 Which team is which??
Follow the leader or the coach.

Ryder left the field that day grinning from ear to ear and eager to play next week.  The first season the most important thing I want him to learn is that sports are fun.

Spring Soccer: Game #2 vs Chameleons

The last game we all came home with sunburns. This week we were greeted by rain and wind. Ryder's game was cancelled it was too cold of the little guys. Reganne's game started right on time with only sprinkles. The girls were eager to get started and play. Play is what they did all their hard work at practices is really starting to pay off and they were off with a bang.

The rain started but the girls continued and did a great job. I am not sure how many goals were scored, but the team work was great.

Time for a quick team cheer, treats, and run for your cars here comes the rain.

Just as we all got into the car the rain came and continued all night.

2012 Little Valley Choir Concert and Art Show

Where has the year gone here we are already to the last choir concert and art show on Thursday the 12th. It has been along and exhausting couple of days Rylee has been a lunch worker, extra choir practices, and homework. By tonight she was ready to be done with choir and unsure about next year.

Patiently waiting for the show to begin.

Stretching out and getting those wiggles out.

Performing all the songs from the year. Wow pretty amazing some songs I learned when I was in school. They sounded wonderful.

Reganne & Lydia

Time for the art show.

Rylee showing us her picture.

We are so lucky to have the arts in our school. How much they benefit from participating. They both did a wonderful job and were excited to share with us. Most of all to eat the treats provided by the PTA.

Rylee New Karate Belt

The Annual Karate test this year also jumped up and grabbed us. We had to get boards prepped for the test. Our boards were a little green still and didn't work to well. They are now drying under her bed for the next test. She passed and now is a Green White Belt.

She can take care of herself and Ryder tells everyone she will protect him if there is ever a robber at our house.

Congratulations Rylee and keep up the good work.

Ryder's First Friend Party

A couple of weeks ago Ryder asked when he was going to go to a birthday party. Our reply was when you get invited to one. Well it finally happened with his friend Jordan from primary was having a Star Wars party. As I dropped him off all the neighborhood little boys were running around with light sabre's and going crazy even before treats. He was a little nervous about staying but finally the exitement took over.

When I picked him up the craziness and slowed down a little. Every boy left with a goodie bag, light sabre, and alot of energy. He had a great time and promptly started attaching his sisters with his sword and hid his goodie bag in his desk.

Happy Easter Weekend...Saturday

Easter snuck up on us this year with so many activities that Easter had to be thrown in the mix. This year we bypassed the neighborhood egg hunts and went instead to the SkyWest Hunt. It started at 10:00 and this is one you don't want to be late you snooze you lose. Everyone was in a different spot and the girls were basically on their own to get their eggs. Ryder however clung to my leg and refused to hold his basket.

The whistle blew and the kids were off...

Ryder picked up the eggs only and ignored the chocolate candies laying in the grass.

Ryder and his friend from school Colton.

The hardwork is over... We didn't get many eggs but you have to be ahead of the pack not tagging along.

We were then off to the Easter Car Show in Hurricane. This is for anyone who likes cars of every shape and color.

Check that one out!

I can't see inside lift me up. Ryder's favorite perch was on Dad's shoulders.

Reganne wanted pictures of ever car. I wanted pictures of the kids. We both got what we wanted.

Reganne and one of her favorites.

Rylee's favorite activity...Bouce houses and slides.

Enough of cars and people we were off to lunch at Red Robin.

Happy 10th Birthday Rylee

What little girl turned into a tween on the 2nd of April? It was Rylee!!! What tween gets to celebrate her birthday over a series of days? It was Rylee!!! This is the downside or upside of having a birthday on General Conference Weekend. The celebrating started on Sunday with a birthday party with the Wheelers & Grandma JeanAnn and Grandpa Chris.

It's time for presents!!!

You hugged everyone but your Dad!

Spring Season 2012...Game 1, Big Red

Reganne's First Game of Spring started at 2:00. We had enough for a quick lunch at McDonalds, a trip home to pick up Reganne's equipment that she forgot, and finally a stop at Payless Shoes for new Sunday Sandels. We still made it in plenty of time for the game. This week they played "Big Red" this was the toughest team in fall to play. The girls were taller, quicker, and played like pros.

The game started off much the same, but much to our amazement the Pink Pirates matched them play for play and goal for goal.

Score!!! Reganne had the throw in and made it in the goal!! Can you do that? I am not sure but we all thought it was pretty cool.

Off and running again

Defense

Game Over and a Quick Cheer!!!

Are those smiles? Yes, they had alot of fun.

Practice does pay off.

2012 Spring Soccer...Season Opener

After waiting for many months to play soccer the big day arrived. As the day drew closer the nerves set in and Ryder decided he didn't want to play after all. He didn't know how to kick the ball, how to throw it, and what did the whistle mean. Dave tried to practice with him and the tears started to flow. I wasn't sure how this was going to work. We set off for the fields with treats for his team.

We finally found the right team. Hard to do with 11 other teams of 4-5 year old boys running around. Mix this with parents, grandparents, and various other adults trying to get organized for the season opener. We found our coach and team. Ryder ran off and refused to come any closer. The trick came in getting him into his uniform.

I tried it on... I still don't want to play.

Look I am out here.

He finally came out on the field if Mom came along. Good thing the coach is a good sport and invited me along to help.

Which goal is ours?

He finally started having fun and played a whole five minutes.

I can run after the ball.

Is it over? When is our next game?

Success!! He enjoyed playing and can't wait for the next game. He promptly told me that they weren't playing next week since his coach is out of town (Easter Weekend)

They named their team the Blue (Angel) Jets.

What do you get with Sunshine + Exercise + Grandma = One pooped little boy.
