Rustic Road Chapel

The new chapel was finished mid July and our first meetings were held on July 17, 2011. Our ward meets at 9:00 am so we were the first ward in the new building. The day was full of firsts and a fun way to spend that Sunday.

We watched this chapel slowly develope from the first shovel, first tractor, first brick, etc. Every day we drove by on our way to work and then again at the end of the day. Each day Ryder noted the different things that they were doing. This building has been dubed "Our Church".

Combo's Class

Last week we received the note that it was time for Ryder to move classes at daycare. He officially moved on Tuesday, August 23rd to the Combo's Class with Ms. Ashley. He was so excited to move into her class and be with the big kids. He is always the first in his class to move up and loves it. He tells us he is a big kid and doesn't poop his pants. He watched the sisters get their pictures taken on their first day. So we must do the same for him.

Almost 4.

The new pose or rather the 4 year old pose. I have one of Reganne posing the same way.

At the end of the day he promptly told me that Ms. Ashley's class doesn't have to take a nap they can watch movies instead. I asked him if he napped. He grinned and said yes. Ashley told me later that he passed out as soon as the movie started. The next day they walked to the park just like the bigger kids.

Future Baker?

Ryder is fascinated with cooking. If I am in the kitchen working he soon follows and wants to help. He loves to stand on the stool and watch me make rolls. As I turned around to add more flour this is the way I found him watching the bowl go around in circles. He may have fallen asleep if..

As soon as the flash went off he looked up and smiled.

He may not be as interested in the process, but know if he stays close he gets the first taste. He loves to eat and always wants a snack or treat.

Primary Activity Day

Primary Activity Day / Water Day... The kids earned this special activity day by everyone bring their scriptures to Primary. Sunbeams to the oldest Valiants brought their scriptures every week for the past couple of months. This was Ryder's first activity day since they changed the program and removed these type of activities. How can you not have a water activity with temperatures well over 100 degrees.

There was water baseball, tug of war, sprinklers, wadding pools, and a special surprise...

The St George Fire Dept hosed them down.

They loved it!!!

I ran through once already.

It's raining!

Otter Pops the only way to end the morning.

Everyone was smiling, wet, cold, and ready to go home.

A New Year Starts

Our school year starts early for not being a year round school. This year is no different however, for us Reganne goes to school all day as a First Grader. We had tried to get into school mode a couple of weeks ago, but we failed. Sunday night arrived and we enforced bedtime there were protests. Trying to wake them up on Monday morning there were protests. The excitement was in the air to meet their teachers and see old friends. They could hardly wait until 8:30 for Dad to take them to school. First things first we must have pictures of the event.

New outfits & Backpacks

Must wear shorts. It has been 105 degrees at least this past week.

Rylee - Fourth Grade

Reganne - First Grade

They survived the first day with weary smiles. Reganne asked to change her name to something else so the teachers could pronounce it. Rylee chattered away about her day and how cool her room is in the trailers. Reganne wasn't sure she learned anything, but lunch was good.

Week 2 starts tomorrow. Let's hope we all survive.

Sunset on the Square... Mega Mind

All recoop from our last vacation it was time for family relaxing night at the park. We had dinner with Uncle Larry, Aunt Carrie, and family at Brick Oven. They were on their way to Little Mermaid and we were off to Mega Mind.

We haven't done movies in the park this summer. Ryder always wants to leave just as the movie is starting, rain and thunderstorms, and finally the heat. Tonight was great the perfect temp and the crowd was pretty mild.

Getting setup.

I want your picture without your hand.

New pose..No pictures please.

Popcorn+water= Bathroom breaks during the movie.

This was a good way to end summer vacation. School starts Monday.

Seattle: Trip Home

Or should I say Nightmare. The morning started off promising until one flight had a mechanical and they downgraded the flight to a smaller plan. Thus changed the whole day and there were no longer seats available. By 8:00 pm it was obvious that we were not going home on Monday. Thankfully, Bryan & Becca picked us up for some sleep and try again tomorrow.

Tuesday morning dawned pretty much the same without much difference. I flew standby on Southwest home. Dave and the kids flew home also on Southwest via Reno and Cedar City.

We all made it home by 7:00 pm that night. Nobody is interested in flying for awhile. However, we would still love to visit Seattle again.

Seattle: Walking the Dogs

What would our visit be without the other members of their family Bear & Vader. The kids loved playing ball with them and it was time to walk them. Too bad they didn't know that Uncle Bryan ment business and we were off.

Were tired!!

Back on the trail again.

Ryder had to ride the Harley even though he looks like an alien or bobble head.

The Boys.

It was time for bed and rest up for the trip home. We had such a good time and look forward to visiting again.

Saturday Activity: How to Plant Veggies

I just had to fit one more activity in this weekend. We were off to Star Nursery to learn how to plant seeds that just happened to be green beans.

Reganne..I want the big pot.

Planting the seeds.

Look!!! I did it all by myself.

That was quick and fun. Now we have to remember to water them and hopefully in about 6 weeks we might have something to eat.

If they live!!!

Baby Quincy

The little man we were all excited to meet and welcome to the family Bryan Quincy Biggs. He was asleep for most of the afternoon. As he started to stir the kids gathered around eager to hold him.

Bryan Quincy Biggs aka Baby Quincy

Uncle Dave & Quincy getting to know each other.

Rylee showing that she could be a good babysitter.

Look Mom I can do it myself.

He is so cute! Don't drop me Reganne.

My Turn!!

They started to fight who was going to hold him next. I sure he felt like a football being passed around. As long as his belly was full he was a good sport.

Seattle: To the Forest

After a stop at Bryan & Becca's for a potty stop. We were off to more sight seeing around Enumclaw and onto the forest. WOW is the only way to describe the lush green forest at the Mud Mountain Dam Park.

Entrance to the park.

River side of the outlook.

The dam side.

Playing around with Bryan.

Family photo op at the bottom of the look out.

Hiking back to the top. Ryder complained the whole hike. I hate to hike!!!

Mossy tree cut in half to complete the trail.

The temp dropped and cooled off. The girls wanted their jackets, but soon sidetracked by Uncle Bryan.

Everyone was hungry and tired of playing. We made a quick stop for pizza & bread sticks that were to die for.

Quincy's Blessing

Sunday morning dawned chilly and a little overcast, but no rain.

The man of the hour.

Getting ready and almost a smile.

Mom & Son

The proud family

Then I had to ruin it and join in the fun.

This brings back memories of holding Bryan when he was this size.

I won't complain about our 5 minute ride to church again. It was about a 1/2 hour with the kids constantly asking if we were there yet.

Seattle Trip: The Beach

Last weekend we were lucky enough to make it to Seattle and visit Bryan, Becca, and Quincy. After making the flight by the skin of our teeth everyone was hungry and ready to explore. A quick lunch to Popeyes for some Southern Fried Chicken. We were off to explore. Our first stop was the Radonodo Beach. The kids weren't sure what to expect and weren't very excited. As soon as we arrived the excitement kicked in and they were ready to explore.

Wow, look at all that waters.

This is cold water. Don't get too wet.

Collecting Sea Shells

Dave & Ryder checking out the boats trying to dock.

Rylee & Reganne posing.

Let's try to pose.

The autoflush toilets and smell soon drove us to leave and explore somewhere else. The weather was awesome.
