Senior Pictures

Begging, Pleading, Bribing, and even threatening couldn't convince Reganne to have senior pictures.  Her solution was a few selfies. Blake convinced her to let me take a few at Seegmiller Farms. Blake & Julie arrived with all the props and equipment needed. I was banished from the shoot. I could watch from a distance and no comments necessary.

Amazing is one word on all these pictures. Blake did a great job in capturing Reganne, her personality, and how beautiful she is.  We can't wait to see her continue on her life's path.

What is that?

That is what we want to know. Dave went in for his annual physical and decided to ask the Dr what the heck is up with this bruise on top of his head. She definitely doesn't like the looks of it and sends him to a dermatologist with a surgical speciality.

Next up visiting Vivida Dermatology. . .

Need a before picture.

Taking a biopsy
Love this cute little bandage.
A new new requirement he must wear a hat while out doors.

Looking good!!
A week later it's looking better.

Official diagnosis is Granuloma Faciale which is a rare non cancerous skin disorder. Weird I know and it left the doctor speechless as well. His next appointment is in July with a the treatment options being laid out. Until then Dave keep wearing your hat.

2023 Ironman 70.3 North America Championships

It's that time of year again when Ironman athletes and support teams descend on St George getting ready to push their bodies to their limits.  I was a little late in sign up to volunteer so I'm trying something new T2 Timer. The job description sounded simple enough write down times at they leave the T2 area. If they have lost their band with the data chip assign them a new one. Sounds simple and maybe fun.

T2 Transition Area
Noticed something different from the others.
All participants must rack their own bikes.

Change of plans
No longer T2 but finish line.
This should be fun?

Our Crew
One lady asked for rubber gloves. Why on earth would we need those when all
we are doing is writing down times?

Nope!!
We must remove the ankle straps with the data chip inside.
Ohhhhh heck!!!!
Can you image what condition the bands are in?
I claimed the job of taking the bands, separate the pieces and put the yucky bands in one garbage can. The data piece into another. Most important keep everyone for putting garbage into either can.

Finish Line Crowds

We had the nastiest job for the whole event. Thank goodness for the rubber gloves. I was proud of myself for not losing what ever was in my stomach when I thought to long about why the bands were so wet. I bet you just gagged over the mental picture. I love volunteering but this is one job I never hope to have again.

Golden Goggles Awards Nigh

Aka my birthday dinner. Another year is coming to an end with SUSA Swim Team. It seems to be an odd time of year to celebrate but the new year starts on June 1st. We received an email that Ryder would be getting an Achievement Award and needed to be present for the presentation.

Last photo op
with the old logo

Sitting with all his friends and team mates.
It was rather chili tonight. I'm really glad I brought a jacket.

Great parent support
I hope there is enough food for this crowd.

Coach Mike presenting the
SUSA Swim Team Ideals Award for "Achievement"
from the Advanced 2 Group.

Ryder's awards for a great year.
Scholar Pin for having a 3.8 or high all school year.
Does a 4.0 count?
State Championship Team
IMX Award
Achievement Award

The Achievement Award was for all his hard work each day. He worked so hard to cut times at each meet. It doesn't help when a sleep deprived coach is registering for events for the next meet and puts you in two events back to back. He cuts times on both events.

IMX Award is for those swimmers that complete a list of specific events during the year.

We are really proud of him and all his hard work and dedication during this last year. He has now moved up to the NAT-D Team the highest level of comp swim with SUSA. They do require 8 practices a week with 4 mornings a week starting at 5:00 AM.

He needs that driver's license!! Let's hope we can all make it to September.

It's My Birthday!!

Another year has gone by and hopefully another year wiser. It's not time to sit and relax or time to party. It's going to be a full day of work, treats, taking the dogs to the groomers (finally), lunch with my team, and lastly the "Golden Goggles Awards Night" to wrap up another great year of successful swimming.

Just a warning some celebrating took place on a variety of days due to our crazy schedules.

My IA team really spoiled me.
Liz, Carrol, Harry, and Cami
made sure I had a great day at work with all my favorite treats.

Costco mini chocolate chip cookies
instead of any type of cake.
Only problem is Ryder loves them as much as I do.
He demands his fair share.

What birthday would be complete without dinner
with the Wheelers. A couple of days late
but yummy fried ice cream cures all problems.
Great dinner at Don Pedros with only 4 adults.

57 doesn't feel any older than 56. However, it's a whole lot closer to 60 which does sound older. I was spoiled by my family and friends. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

May is Marching in

Full steam ahead!! It's going to be a busy one.

A Costco trip
Anyone like to share these croissants with me?
The kids or rather Ryder devoured them in 2 days.

It's that time of year also.
SUSA Fundraising.

Hi!! Mom
Yes, I am in class today.

What the heck is this?
and why??
These 2 + Dexter attach the front door when the door bell rings, someone walks by, another animals wonders by.
Dave came up with this genius idea of putting a gate up just before the tile entry. It works great as long as we remember too close it. Now if only there was something we could do about the barking.

Time is really flying. I have heard this happens as you get older. Dang I must be getting older.

Another Monthly Wrap Up

Every month seems to be crazy. When I think things are slowing down it's a false alarm and it starts all over again.

Nightly Walk
These crazy dogs make a nice knot with the leashes
every night.

Virgin River
Running swiftly, muddy, and reaching the upper banks.

The last swim meet
I officiated on the 15 meter mark. Being the walking official makes many steps.
Stomped my daily goal and when no where.

Swig Cookies
Ryder & I  trying out the mini butterscotchies.
Drink was yummy, the cookies need more butterscotch or chocolate.

CTE  High School Parent, Teachers, and Student
Meet & Greet
Free swag for all the kids.
We are still waiting for the open house & tour.

Saying goodbye to April only means welcoming May. Let's hang on, buckle up, and have fun.

2023 SUSA LC Kickoff Meet

After an exhausting short course (SC) season, plus a couple of weeks off it's time to hit the pool. 8 different clubs from across the state plus Las Vegas, 76 swimmers, all of which are ready to get the party started.  We only have one long course (LC) pool in St. George at Utah Tech.

The pool is quiet for only a short time.

Sending Dave a list of Ryder's events.

It was a good, clean, and quick meet. The kids saw some good results for the start of long course season. This is the shorter one so you must bring your A game to every meet.
