Winter Module Swim Meet

This swim meet was a lot smaller than previous meets due to I believe the smaller classes.  Ryder's group had 5 members and there were fewer classes since not many wanted to have classes during the holidays.

Ryder was eager to show how much he had learned these past months. We arrived once again too early so he had to wait awhile to warm up.  Once the warm ups began it was time to begin.

His 3 races

Getting Ready,,,,Trying the platform

Notice the yellow cap.
The last race he was pooped and ready to find his ribbons.

His results were

10 & Under 50 Yard Freestyle...4th Place with the time of 59.54.
10 & Under 25 Yard Butterfly....2nd Place with the time of 27.63
10 & Under 50 Yard Backstroke....2nd Place with the time of 57.27

He did an awesome job and was super excited to receive 3 ribbons for his efforts.  He will have a week off before the next module starts.  He will be in Modules 3 again for the Spring Season which is ok with him so he can improve his skills.

The meet finished before 9:30 there was time for breakfast at Bishops before heading to soccer with Reganne.

SRIS 2 Trimester Choir Concert

Reganne loves to sing and the Second Trimester of school she had choir.  She loves to sing even if it's only in the shower at the top of her lungs.  The trimester is ending and with it must mean there is going to be a concert to show everyone what they have been learning.

Dressed in black and ready to sing.

Dang they are full of energy.

3 classes singing together for only
second time.

They sound pretty good for only one rehearsel.

It's over head for the doors
They sounded really good and there were even a few smiles from both parents and students. I loved how the teacher incorporated instruments and their hands to teach the kids about music and singing.

Reganne really enjoyed this class and will be part of the Advanced Choir next school year.   She was really excited to get her first pick for her fine arts class.

Happy Valentine's Day

Ryder's Loot

This year only have one child needing to make valentines for his class and of course making a box to hold everything from school.  I had orders to bring home a box so wide so tall, and just the right size.  It took a little while but I was sure the box I brought home wasn't going to be right.  Instead it was perfect just what he wanted.

He gathered all of his supplies and sat down to make it.  A few false starts he came up a football field theme. No need for frills, pink, or hearts all green with goal posts.

It was a fun day full of sugar, hearts, and love.

Boys Trip

Dave & Ryder planned a boys trip to Salt Lake for a boat show.  They decided tly up and spend the day together doing boy things.  The boat show, Cabellas, old car shops, and Sheels.  What more could boys ask for that to visit stores dedicated to wheels and moving parts.

My only request please send pictures of  what they were doing.  I am sure they had fun by what they sent me.

Can I bring this home?

They were both tired when I picked them up from the airport. They had a fun time Ryder couldn't stop talking about everything he saw, touched, and won.  He brought home a lot of swag to share or most likely keep for himself.

Side note Dave was worn out and all he wanted to do was sleep.

Chilly Saturday

The weather has been so warm during the week and then Saturday comes around and so does the cold, rain, and wind.  The Rage 04 team needed more players for a preseason scrimmage against a Snow Canyon team.  Reganne wasn't so sure whether she wanted to play but a bribe of lunch out at Jimmy John's convinced her to play.

Team warm up
Game play from the coach

Playing Goalie

Hangin with the team

After having a couple months off she soon found her groove again.  The coach was glad she came and wants to club pass her during the regular season.   She was glad she played but it was time for Mom to pay up and feed her lunch.

Basketball Game 7

The last day Saturday in January also meant that it was the final basketball game of the season.  We arrived early enough to get a good seat out of the way of flying balls.  The boys were ready to play and couldn't wait to get it started.

Good on defense
We just need to teach him not to foul.
How do you defend someone
who is taller than you?

Get that ball!!!

Our turn let's make a basket

High Fives all around!!!
Who knew that 3rd grade basketball could be so intense?  The game clock ran out it was a tie.  Instead of ending there it was going into overtime.  I am not sure who was sweating it more the dads in the stands or the coaches letting the clock startup again.  The boys hung in there to the very end to win the game.

The boys really grew this season and their skills improved.  It was a fun season so sad that it is ending.  Ryder is already wanting to try baseball again but not give up swimming.

Who knows what will happen next??

First Time

Reganne has now been 12 for a couple of months and she hasn't been to the temple yet.  The young women in the ward try and go once a week.  She was a little nervous going with everyone else for her first time.  Trying to find the time hasn't worked to well for us so far.  Dave & I decided we needed to make the time and hopefully make it special for her.

Friday was the night.  Ryder was hanging out with Dacoda and Rylee was hanging with friends.  We were free to enjoy the time together.  Dave let Reganne in on a little secret that he had never done baptisms before so they were both first timers.  I had gone before as a teenager in Young Womens.  I was under the impression that this ordinance was reserved for the youth.  I was quickly told that that is not the case everyone is welcome.  All of us were going to participate tonight.

We arrived to a bustling room full of people taking time out of their busy schedules to serve.  The workers were so willing to help and give directions.  There were about 10 to 15 people waiting when we got there.  There even was a family of 3 generations waiting for their turns.

Enjoying their time being together and
sharing the special time.

It was a great evening full of the spirit and special memories.  I think this is one activity that will need to be repeat over and over again.

We love Reganne so much for her determination, kindness, and everything that makes her unique.  This twelve year old is growing up way to fast I wish I could slow it down.  We are so proud of her and her choice to service others.
