4th of July Overload

I love holidays it usually means a slower pace than a normal day.  This year the 4th of July was going to be crazy busy.  First up is getting across town by 6:30 am to pick up the car for the royalty to ride in.  We arrived early and walked into Dave's version of heaven.

Cars

More cars!!!!
We needed to get moving before those
thoughts running through Dave's mind
turn serious.

Rylee...Look at my sweet ride.
Dave...Am I really going to drive this awesome car?
Ryder...Don't breath or move don't want to ruin this car.

Looking good for
7:30 in the morning

Pictures with their sponsor.
This kids were really shy around the girls.

Girl Power

Pictures with the Mayor
Where are Rylee's shoes?

On the road
Looking good and they all turned
to give me big smiles.

Frustrated!!!
The kids around us kept taking all the candy.

Resting in the shade
Dave taking a break from driving a clutch in a parade.
The car is cool but it sure hurts the legs.

Crazy girls
Finding any shade available.
The parade was a success but the heat was rising time to catch a nap for a minute or two or thirty.  Movies, food, and another nap is on my agenda for the rest of the afternoon.  Ryder had more plans for everyone.  He was so excited to go to DSU Stadium for the Michael Ray Concert and fireworks.

We need to find some shade.....

Found some
and perfect for people watching.

Food lines
Of course the longest line was for Zeppe's
for frozen goodness.

Filling up
as the music starts.

Michael Ray is great
in concert.  Ryder was in heaven.
Almost time for the fireworks.  Our shady spot wasn't the perfect spot for fireworks.  We needed to find a better spot.  We found the perfect spot by the van.  No people and a quick escape.

Amazing

Perfect
except for the car alarms going off.
We were home by 10:30.  It was a great day even if we are more tired than a normal work day.  This month is going to be filled with more stuff than we are prepared for.
