Week in Review

It is official I have lost count of the weeks with restrictions.  We have moved into those long summer days.  The nights have still been cooling off which makes it nice after surviving the heat of the day.
Once we hit July that won't be the case.  Let's enjoy it while it lasts.

Air balloons in the morning.
The dogs hate them.
They bark when they see one.
This one seemed to be following us.

Awesome technology!!
We watched the SpaceX launch
in the Hummer and on the iPhone.
Still a thrill to watch the count down & lift off.

New adventure for Ryder
dog grooming.  Dexter was his first
victim.  It was really short.  Not bad for a first time
and a very wiggly dog.

New instrument...
He contacted his band teacher about switching
instruments and practicing over the summer.

Trombone
I am not sure how much practicing is
being done.  He has tormented his sisters
and the dogs.

The new normal
First time back to church.
45 minutes was way short but enjoyed the spirit there.

Ready for church?
This is what happens when you don't wear
your Sunday clothes for 3 months.
We need to go shopping before our next meeting
in July.

It was a good week despite the pandemic raging around the world.  Ryder is back to swimming a full schedule.  When he isn't swimming he is hanging out with friends or trying to find ways to make money.  He is going to be the millionaire in our family if he keeps this up.

Playing in the Water

We survived another week and it was time to play outdoors.  Amazing what one week makes the lines were shorter, the winds were slower,  and it felt warmer.

We are ready to play..
Ryder wasn't sure about
getting in.

First knee board of the season.
He popped right up.
He also tried the wake board.
He popped right up and promptly fell over.

Tube Time!!!
Dave had been waiting all morning to make him
ride the waves.

It was time for me to get out there.
I am not how this will work or
will I survive.

Not bad!!
It was a good ride a lot slower than
Ryders ride but I couldn't complain.

Two like minds.
Not sure what they are planning.
Beware!!!

He is definitely up to something
with that sly grin.

It's that time again
to head to the dock.  The winds were
picking up.

The beaches were starting to fill up and the crazy personal watercrafts were starting make it impossible to move or be safe.  Time to head home and enjoy a lazy Saturday afternoon.

Memorial Day 2020

Where to go and what to do?  Utah has updated to yellow status which means we can move around a little bit more.  This also means that people from out of town are welcome as well.    Not sure this is a good idea but it's time to be brave and do our best to stay healthy.

What better place to get fresh air, social distance, and have family time than the lake.  We headed out early or so we thought.  Pulling into Sand Hollow and what is now a 4 way stop being patrolled by the sherifs department.  The line stretched in all 4 directions.  We were the last boat to make it in before they closed the gates.

It was really windy.....
We are on the water.
It's not feeling to warm yet.

The wind is really picking up.
It's only 9:00 this shouldn't be happening.

The beach area is really
filling up.
Not many boats our here with us.

Reganne is ready
to jump in and start the season off.

Ryder was slower to get in.
It's freezing cold!!!

Dave relaxing while
the kids played in the water & I took pictures.

We lasted about an hour the winds were picking up and I hadn't even taken off my sweatshirt.  It has been years since I wore a sweatshirt to the lake.  We were going to head home and have a movie afternoon instead.

Sunday drive time... Let's head to Zions for  relaxing drive through the park.  NOPE!!! The lines stretched forever and once again the park was closed.  The ranger said try back in about an hour.

This maybe the closest we get
this weekend.

Ryder begged to check out one of the
local rock shops.
No one was around so sure.
Once they started looking around other cars
soon followed.  Time to try the park again or head home.

30 minutes later we were driving through the park with the top down.  The sun and slight breeze felt great as we slowly moved along the road.

Let's take the long way home.

Going through the tunnels to the other side towards Kanab.  Kanab was nice and sleepy it being Sunday not much was open.  We ate lunch in a little park.  It was time to head home for the night.  Monday was our day to relax and re-coop before starting all over again on Tuesday.

It is officially summer vacation..... Let the party begin or rather this is month 3 of a longer vacation that none of us signed up for.  Stay safe & healthy.

Snap Shot of Week ??

I don't know what number week we are in with all the craziness.  We have a few last minute projects that need to be finished before graduation.

Well I missed finding leis for the virtual walk and felt awful.  I had a couple of weeks to try and learn how to make them for her.  Ryder & I studied YouTube for instructions on the how too.  I got all the supplies together and wait for Rylee to leave the house for awhile.  Then we got started...

Cellophane, candy, and ribbon
Don't recommend the cellophane it was to rigid.

This boy is crazy.
He wanted to make one for himself.
It has all his favorite things... Money & Candy.

The final result.
Not bad for our first attempt.
We have 3 years before it's Reganne's turn.

Not sure what they are watching.
Neither moved a muscle for a good 15 minutes.
Maybe Ginger was asleep?

Watching the graduation parade
with the Wheelers.

It was an exhausting week full of emotion.  It is definitely time for a break and a long weekend.

Graduation Day

The big day has finally arrived (a month ago) and we are definitely ready for all the celebrating.  DHHS Graduation Time is 2:30 to watch the virtual ceremony.

This is new today a balloon

Celebration pathway

Heart Attach
from the Young Woman.

Waiting for it to start.
In the comfort of our living room.

We are comfortable
and waiting for Rylee to appear on screen.

We made it through the 2 hour presentation and saw Rylee for the 20 seconds it took to walk across the stage.  It is now time to put on the cap & gown and get ready for the senior parade.

Final time to wear this
outfit.
She did like the candy lei.

The line up at the school
I love the flower lei they had at the school.

It's starting!!!

There she is with Ben.

There they go...

It was a totally exhausting day.  They headed off to Stahlie Farms for a balloon release and fireworks.  We headed home with sore hands & throat.  The kids really had fun and the cheering sections were having fun as well.

The celebrating is over and the new phase is beginning for our family.  Will we survive it??

Surviving and Healthy

Another crazy week has gone by and we are all still hanging in there.  It has been a busy week with finishing up last minute assignments, checking out of school, watching too many movies, and trying to stay cool.  Someone forgot to pay the AC bill here in Southern Utah it has been really hot with above average temperatures.  I am sure my kids would blame me for the heat since I am in control of everything wrong in their lives right now.  The state has opened a little more into the Yellow Phase time for a little more freedom.

The kids found friends to hang out with even if its outside only.

Let me in Reganne!!

Where is she?
She had a sleep over with a friend.
Don't hate on me too bad for this.
She has been social distancing in her bedroom for weeks.

Cool new toy!!
They found out thrifting.

First outing!!
Birthday Lunch

It tasted great!!
It felt great to be out and about.

Sunday baking
The rolls were a little doughy.
Yet still tasted great.

As one week ends another one quickly follows.  This week we have graduation, Memorial Day, and hopefully family fun time.

We hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

Virtual Miss St George 2020

The girls were busy working on the pageant in March when the world went crazy.  It came to a screeching halt.  6 weeks later they found a solution of doing it virtually.  The girls met with the judges one at a time for the interview portion.  The talent portion was submitted by video.  The final portion was to be an essay.  The crowning would be held at Seegmiller Farm Park with a lot of fresh air.

Time for the crowning ceremony and it was HOT!!! Inside the barn.  The girls were all there with their parents and the current royalty with parents.  You could feel the tension and excitement.

2019 Royalty

Royalty & Contestants

Trying to not be nervous

New royalty & contestants

New royalty & Mayor Pike

Crazy girls with
crazy poses.

Congratulating Ainsley!!
First Attendant!!

Final Picture
with their personalized masks.

Masks were required it was so hot that they distanced themselves apart and removed them.  Then the mayor walked in and everyone wasn't sure how he would respond.  Funny thing he didn't have a mask either.  We wished the new girls luck and hoping that they can find fun ways to serve the city this upcoming year.  The little bit I learned about each one they are all amazing.

It has been a fun year for us as a family to support Rylee with the adventure.  We are proud of her and the amazing things that she has been able to do and participate with the group.
