Modules 3 Swim Meet

The school year is ending next week and that means Module 3 is also ending.  It's swim team meet time to celebrate all of their hard work.

I was extremely glad that it has a later start time of 8:00 am.

His races, lanes, and heats.
The kids are ready to go.....

Racers getting ready
Take the starting blocks...

GOOOOOOOOO

What is my time?

Hanging out with his coach & class.
They are all a lot older but very supportive of him.

3 First Place Ribbons
He worked so hard on each race.
1st race 25 Meter Freestyle21.28
2nd race 100 IM  Meter 2.16.55
3rd race 100 Meter Freestyle 2.10.00

He was all smiles with his ribbons.  They are his first 1st Place Ribbons!!!!  He has worked so hard these past 8 weeks learning how to flip, jump, and to swim further than he ever has before.  He was also the only one in his group to try the 100 IM which is all the strokes together.  He raced against the 11 and older group.

He now has a week off before the summer session starts.  We will see everyone pool side again in a couple of weeks at the first summer meet.

Week of Tryouts

I did say soccer was over for the season.  They scheduled tryouts for next season while the weather is not scorching and everyone leaves town for the summer.  Reganne was going to three tryouts and see what is the best fit.  She wants a committed team who also has fun together.

Day 1... No pictures since I completely forgot trying to keep track of her and also Ryder.  It was really windy and a little warm.  Half of the team was there for Liverpool a new organization in town.

Day 2...Rage across town with black clouds on the horizon.  The other half of the team was here getting ready.

Taking a water break.
Dang!!! what is that more wind, rain, and even hail.  The kids ran for cover for a few minutes and then went back to playing.

She fills confident
and a little wet.
Day 3...Cima, this group was smaller and maybe the hardest team to get on.  There maybe only a couple of spots available for the 2004 team.  She was excited to give it her all.  I gave it my all by sitting in the cold with a jacket, blanket, and I could have used another blanket.  Day 4... was full of sunshine and even more fun.

I am tired after 4 days of hanging out at the fields.  Reganne however is still having fun and wants to try another team in a couple of weeks.

Until then I am taking a break from outside.  We are out of clean clothes and food to eat.

May Pack Meeting

We have great cub scout leaders who have wonderful ideas to get the boys involved.  This month after awards and flag ceremony it was time to play games.  Who knew these crazy, loud, and wild boys would enjoy playing chess & checkers?  Not me.

New game to him.
How do you play again?

Even the sisters got involved
playing checkers.
I am not sure if they even stopped long enough to eat treats.  The boys had so much fun that the adults took down the tables around them and nobody budged.

Thank you to all the leaders for their hard work and dedication to all these wild boys.  It's nice to see someone else care about your children.

Next month is the rain gutter regatta.  This should be fun for everyone.

Soccer Tuesday...Cima

Tuesday night and it's the final game of the season.  Everyone was there early and ready to play.  This is also the first game we have played at Snow Canyon HS.  It was going to be the perfect night for a game of soccer.

On duty and trying her best...giving it her all.

Sitting on the opposing side but able
to enjoy the sunset.

Trouble one & two
supporting their sister

Keep going!!!

They gave it their all and still came away without that goal.  Reganne and 20 attempts and 5 goals in the first half.  Second have was a little harder with 22 attempts and 4 additional goals.

Once again I am surprised at the resilience of these girls,  Smiling, high fives, and talking about tryouts next week.  Hopefully, the girls will continue to play if not together with other teams developing their skills.

Reganne is excited to keep playing and developing her skills.  She is looking for a team that is committed and eager to play.

Until next fall.

Happy Birthday To Us...

One year older and wiser tooooo.... I don't feel much wiser just more tired.  Julie & I were ready to celebrate with some relaxation and good food.  First up was dinner at Poncho & Lefty's.  I finally found my perfect meal beef enchiladas with green sauce.  So yummy and feeling but what was next was amazing.  I am not talking about the crazy sombreros that I refused to wear citing what critters could be hiding in there.  You can tell I lost the fight but what they brought with it was awesome I soon forgot about the critters.  Fried Ice Cream with caramel sauce toooo die for.  I ate the whole thing with Ryder's help of course.

Saturday came the relaxation with a massage from Melted Massage.  It was so amazing and I felt like great.  However, later in the day after watching Guardians of the Galaxy Part 2 I couldn't get out of my chair.  Is the sign of a good massage sore muscles for the rest of the week?

Maybe....It means that I need to do this more often?

Whichever it is it was the perfect way to spend our special days.  Let's just hope that the next year slows down a  little I am not ready to turn 52 anytime soon.

Soccer Saturday...Storm

It was another warm Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Park.  We are ready for some soccer.  This week a few girls from the premier team were come to help us out.  Reganne was ready at Goalie and we hope that everyone is ready to play.  Storm is an established team having played together for over 3 years.

The whistle blew....

Keeper on duty.

And again!!!

After 16 attempts and 5 goals it was time for a break.  A quick rest and a lot of water she was soon running back onto the field as a defender.

Get away from that ball
They 29 attempts this half and 8 goals.  We did have 5 attempts from the premier girls.  Something was off but what was it??  We got into the van and Reganne felt like she had let everyone down.  She didn't play like her usual self.  What was wrong???  A girl on the team forgot her shirt and Reganne gave her hers to use.  That left her wearing only her goalie shirt which is really big & loose fitting.  She was afraid it would fly up in the wind and expose her to everyone.  She then wore someone else's shirt to finish out the game as a defender.

I am really proud of her sharing.  However, it explained her off performance and the lack of commitment from our team.  We have one more game of the season can these girls stay positive.  Better yet can the parents stay positive?

IronKids Fun Run

May has arrived and with it the busyness of the last weeks of school.  I almost forgot about the IronKids Fun Run the night before the actual Ironman Race.  We were on a mad dash to Towne Square with hopes that he could still participate and run with the other kids.

Our luck held out and registration was still open and they hadn't increased the entrance price.  We had a few minutes to wait and enjoy the music.  Race time was quickly approaching, but there is always time to warm up.

Get ready to stretch

Get those arms up high
Race Time.....

Heading to the starting line

Waiting for the whistle to blow.
How far can we move before they call us back?
They are off...

Waiting at the finish line...

Water & a medal
It doesn't matter what order they happened.
He finished at 10.8 a couple minutes better than last year.  He missed running with friends but had a great time.  He discovered what an Iron Man race is swimming, biking, and running.  He loves doing all three and decided maybe in the future he will run this one for real.

Time will tell...
