Soccer Saturday...Storm

It was another warm Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Park.  We are ready for some soccer.  This week a few girls from the premier team were come to help us out.  Reganne was ready at Goalie and we hope that everyone is ready to play.  Storm is an established team having played together for over 3 years.

The whistle blew....

Keeper on duty.

And again!!!

After 16 attempts and 5 goals it was time for a break.  A quick rest and a lot of water she was soon running back onto the field as a defender.

Get away from that ball
They 29 attempts this half and 8 goals.  We did have 5 attempts from the premier girls.  Something was off but what was it??  We got into the van and Reganne felt like she had let everyone down.  She didn't play like her usual self.  What was wrong???  A girl on the team forgot her shirt and Reganne gave her hers to use.  That left her wearing only her goalie shirt which is really big & loose fitting.  She was afraid it would fly up in the wind and expose her to everyone.  She then wore someone else's shirt to finish out the game as a defender.

I am really proud of her sharing.  However, it explained her off performance and the lack of commitment from our team.  We have one more game of the season can these girls stay positive.  Better yet can the parents stay positive?
