2023 Utah SC Chat Invitational

Aka family road trip to visit Grandma JeanAnn. This is my first visit to this meet held in Cottonwood Heights.  There are 17 teams from Utah and California which also means swimmers from the age of 8 on up all that is required are qualifying Utah Short Course Times. There are even college age competitors. Ryder has moved up to the 15 & Older group this year he is up for the challenge. Wednesday night the weather was perfect for an evening of swimming the mile.

Dave's perfect spot
The sun is shining for now.

Taking a potty break
The sign says you must pay the fee no matter what.
The port a potty's were nasty
.
Checking out the river.
It's really moving. Don't get too close.

Everyone wanted to check out this sight.
Post Malone's Raising Canes
The pink is very crazy for fast food.

Watch the clouds roll in.
We maybe in for some weather today.

It's chilly enough for a jacket.
As I'm catching up with the girls back at home.

Ryder is in full sweats.
It's colder than we had planned.

Raining with thunder and lightening on the side.
Thank goodness Dave remembered my soccer umbrella.

The lightening delay is over with a 30 minute delay.
The kids are anxious to get this over with tonight.

SUSA NAT D Team

Up close and personal
A much better shot than I could have got.

They still sell these.
We needed caffeine to keep us going today.

Checking out the snow @ Snowbird
I'm surprised there wasn't more since it's only June.

Ryder's request for lunch
Houston's Hot Chicken
A YouTube sensation per Ryder's description.
Large portions and pick your heat level.
Mine was no heat and pretty good.

Headed home
Ryder in the driver's seat.
I fell asleep as soon as we made it to the freeway.
Didn't wakeup until Mona.

I wanted to stop and visit McKade who is just home from his mission.  Ryder defended himself saying he wasn't sure what exit to get off and Dave & I were both asleep. We must be getting comfortable with his driving if we both can sleep at the same time.

It was a busy 4 days and I am glad to be heading home. Ryder did really well and is looking forward to the next meet in Las Vegas. The heat will definitely beat the cold & rain this weekend.
