No Water

Last Friday as the Fourth of July Weekend was about to start the water main for the neighborhood broke. Water bubbled up out of the ground and pushed the man hole covers as water began to ooze out of the cracks in the road raising the asephalt a couple of inches. We left to go swimming and get out the heat. An hour later this was the sight we were greeted with as we pulled into the neighborhood. They had begun to dig to determine what the problem was. Ryder was so anxious to watch the big tractors we went to investigate.

The city workers quick on the spot.

Ryder watching the worker men and tractors.

Only the beginning of the problem and 6 feet down.

Ryder had his seat for all the action and his camera for pictures.

They told us it could be 1 hour or until Tuesday for the water to come back on. It depended on how much damage they discovered as they dug down. The kids had to go to the bathroom, there were dishes to wash, laundry to finish. It all would have to wait.

The water came back on around midnight. We really appreciated the hard work for our city they could have easily shut the water off and left it until the holiday weekend was over and avoid paying all the overtime. By Thursday the repairs were finished and the road completely fixed.
