2021 Dixie Stampede Winter Championship

This is the year for new adventures in swimming.  There are more clubs looking for venues that will allow competitions DSU is one that has opened up their doors.  Ryder had qualifying times to participate and I have the qualifications to be a stroke & turn judge.  This meet is going to replace the  San Diego Meet during Christmas vacation.

December 3rd arrives and the kids are ready to swim.

DSU pool setup
Every meet we attend is a different setup.

Ryder getting ready for his first event.
There are 10 lanes with each official watching 5.
This makes my head spin.

Hanging out supporting each other.
David, Mac, Ryder, Solmum, and a new kid.

Team cheer!!

Saturday morning
and all is quiet.

Love all the glass windows

It was a three day meet with prelims in the morning and in the evening.  Ryder qualified as an alternate on Friday night.  Then made finals on Saturday & Sunday.  After much discussion on Sunday morning we decided that Sundays are not something we want to participate in going forward.  It is exhausting swimming that many days in a row and then go to school on Monday.  He did swim really well and is working towards his state times.
