A Couple Final Stops

After our train ride back to London there was still time to revisit Borough Market for a late lunch. We also couldn't leave the country without having more strawberries.

Sandwich from Black Pig
A must from social media.

We each ate had a 1/2.
Way to messy for me.
No pictures of the strawberries & chocolate.
Just a note I gave up a day on the challenge for another cup.

We had to walk off all that food.
We discovered that Buckingham Palace wasn't too far from our hotel.
Love the street signs. Big and full of information.

This park was full of pigeons
A Mary Poppins memory.

Love the ice cream
It's a work of art.
Doing it right and enjoying it.

This park looked amazing
and really close to our hotel.

However, the gates were locked.
This list of rules were posted for all to see.
No a very friendly place.

Heading towards Victoria Station
It will be our last ride on the Under Ground.

Saying Goodbye!!
What an amazing trip.

We made it home
I believe he slept for 12 hours straight.

We had a great time! I will cross this off my bucket list but there is still so much that we didn't get to see. We just might have to go again. Sad note Ryder did not get a stamp in his passport. London Heathrow Airport is all electronic. He is already looking for another adventure.

Windsor Castle

Good morning!! We are headed out for another adventure today. It all starts with a ride on the train.

Trying English Coke
It hit the spot this morning.

WOW!!
so much bigger in person.

Enjoying the benches outside
the castle walls.
It was the perfect spot to enjoy the sunshine.

The long and winding road towards
the castle gates.

Self guided tour.
Loved the dollhouse with all the minitures.

Down to St. Georges Chapel
Loved the palace guards as they marched.

More selfies

City of Windsor

Treats for the local dogs
Outside the castle walls near the train station.

Saying goodbye to Windsor
The station isn't very busy today.

On the way back to London we decided there was still enough time today for one last stop before heading home. Any guesses where we are headed?

Thames River Cruise

We continue to walk and with Google's help we are ready for another adventure full of history.

Big Ben
One more must see and we found it!

Westminister Abbey
We were headed in for a tour.

Another view as seen on tv.
Even more amazing in person.

Longfellow's grave
This place could really become creepy after dark.
We were their for the afternoon prayer service.
It was a much different feeling than our churches.

Big Ben
Things appear so much larger on tv.

We are right on the Thames with a river cruise leaving soon. We made our way to the boat just in time.

Globe Theater

London Bridge

A view from underneath

We are close to Greenwich
were time begins.

Having fun sitting on the top.

Pizza

Salad
for dinner tonight outside in a corner cafe.
Way too much food but I did get my vegetables in for the day.

Dessert
It's my sugar day so don't judge to harshly.

We are exhausted from all the walking, eating, and history. Back to the hotel for another early night.
I read and watched reruns. Ryder worked on homework for a couple of hours. Good night!

Buckingham Palace

We needed to walk after all that food from Borough Market. Instead Ryder found the Underground stop for Buckingham Palace. Ryder had tried to get tickets for a tour. However, they were sold out and have been for over 3 months. No worries! I have never been curious about the inside. I am star struck just being on the grounds.

Buckingham Palace
As seen on tv.

The balcony
How many royals have waved to the world from this spot.
It looks just the same in person minus the people.

Queen Victoria Memorial

Palace Guards
They look awful funny as they march back and forth..
Not sure that this is normal or not.

Palace walls
Those spikes mean business.
Do not try climbing over.

Wellington Arch

In all my excitement I almost
missed documenting myself and the palace.

One last view

This is like a dream all this history can be a little overwhelming. We found a bench to sit and soak this all in. On foot we are headed toward City of Westminister and a whole lot more history overload.

Borough Market

Good morning!! We are both ready for another adventure today.  Borough Market!!

Trying to be patient while trying to figure out where we are going.
Found it!!

Sour dough pretzel
Huge but a little dry. It didn't make the top 5 list.

This is a crazy place full of people, food, and no clear layout to be found.
We are looking for strawberries.
Watch for people eating them. We must be close.

Found it!!

Amazing!!
Strawberries that melt in your mouth covered in smooth chocolate.
#1

Chocolate Crossant
A little dry after the strawberries.
Again not in the top 5.

Creme Brule Doughnut
I thought is was another find. Ryder didn't like the burnt sugar.
I got to eat the rest.

We found another long line.
It must be for something really good.

Sausage roll
It was huge!! Enough for the both of us.
The crust was light perfect.
A top 5 contender.

Watching them make another delicious
Paia (not sure of the spelling)
We are stuffed so its a no go toay.

Strawberry Lemonade
right up there with their strawberries & chocolate

Another long line at the Black Pig
We are definitely full.

We finally found the front entrance
We somehow missed it.

The escalater is having issues.
So we being the long walk down to the platform.

We are so full and not sure what our next adventure will be today. I need to find a place to sit down and let all that food or rather the combination of foods settle for just a little while.
