Day Two of Short Course Jr Olympics

Thank goodness we got to sleep in for a little while.  Ryder was up early ready to get the day started and have some fun before swimming.  We were going to head out early and hopefully avoid rush hour.  Our first stop of the day was going to be the SkyWest Hangar at the Salt Lake Airport.  I needed to drop off stuff to my manager and he planned a tour of the building for Ryder.  Grandma & I were just at excited to join and have fun.

We were hooked up with a mechanic/tour guide and off we went.  First stop was checking out an plane just off the tarmac.

Down came the stairs and up we climbed.

Into the cockpit

Would you like to start it?
YES!!!

WOW!!!
I started an airplane and without a key.

Checking out the engine shop

The accessory shop
The toughest cardboard you will ever find.
It was a fun couple of hours learning about the various groups that work on airplanes to keep them in perfect shape to fly every day.  It was time for lunch and head to Bountiful for another night of swimming.

Found this sign with the offical
title of the meet.
The parking was rather limited sure glad we arrived early.

After warm ups and starving.
Who needs a quick treat?
That would be Ryder and found him
a Snickers.

Time to get on the starting blocks

3rd Place finish

Happy Birthday, David!!!
Team mates relaxing and eating a
birthday doughnut.
It was still early so we headed off to visit cousins and Uncle Randy & Aunt Janelle.  Thank goodness Grandma is a great navigator and we made with no problem getting there.  Aunt Janelle was at work so we didn't get to visit with her.  The kids quickly ran off to hang out.

Kason quickly decided that
Ryder was his to tease & torment.

And tickle
After a quick dinner with them it was time to head back to Grandma's house.  It was a busy day full of exciting new adventures and new memories.  Ryder was exhausted and ready for some sleep.  One more day of swimming.
