Happy Valentine's Day

This year I wasn't as well prepared as years past. Tuesday morning as the kids woke up they were disappointed that there were no hearts around the house or a special gift.

Remember Mom we got a movie last year.

Can't you make us heart shapped toast? I don't have a heart shaped cookie cutter. Yes you do in the box that Reganne bought.

How about we just count dinner from last night?

MOM!!! That doesn't count!!!

On the way to school Reganne asked Dave for a movie like last year. One last ditch effort for a surprise or two.

Surprise....

Heart Shaped Sandwiches with Heart Shaped Marshmellows for a snack after school.

All the Valentine Loot from school.

They each had plenty of treats, parties, and special gifts they went to sleep in a sugar coma.

Ryder asked What is the next holiday? Do we get treats?

The little green fellow better prepare his gold coins for us to find at the end of the rainbow.

Pre-Valentines Celebrating

I am not sure about other towns on Valentines Day but here every place is full with at least an hours wait to eat. This is really not how I want to spend the night with those I love. Dave was off on Monday and it was an early out for the girls from school. What better time to celebrate than the night before. They picked me up after work and we were off to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

Much to our surprise it was packed, but lucky for us I call ahead for early seating so we walked right in and right to our table. Everyone has their favorites Rylee loves the rolls, Reganne loves the rolls and peanuts, Ryder loves the rolls. There are never enough to fillup on before dinner.

Monday night is Family Night they had games, activities, and face painting for the kids. Not just plain face painting but cool face painting.

Rylee and her fancy design.

Reganne with her fancy design but in Red. We can't be exactly the same.

Our puppy dog Ryder.

They had so much fun and even found time to color a picture and enter in the valentine contest and won kids meals for out next visit.

What will tomorrow bring.....

Little Valley Choir Performance...

With James O'Neil Miner "A Valentines Celebration of Love Songs Concert" This year our school choir was asked back to perform with Mr. Miner as his annual concert in St George. The kids had been practicing really hard on two new songs along with perfecting the ones they already now.

This year Rylee had one request that Reganne & Ryder stay home with a babysitter. Last year was crazy running in and out. Maybe this could be classified as a date night. The choir opened with "The Star Spangled Banner" sorry I am biased but they sounded better than Kellie Clarkson last week for the Super Bowl.

Getting their wiggles out.

Rylee & Brianne

Everyone get ready, get set, SING!!!

WOW!!! Did they sing.

As they started singing Do Re Mi the audience rippled with various comments of how well they followed each other and the director. Another comment was how good they were for being kids. They sang an additional 3 songs and blew our socks off with the range she has taught them.

They are the largest elementary school choir in the district and the songs she picks are ones that are really complicated. The kids make them sound so easy.

The kids were pretty bored with the piano music but they sat through the concert with alot more patience than last year.

Next performance will be at Tuacahn in April. I can't wait to find out what Mrs. Kohler has planned.

Happy Birthday & Baptism Day

Our other brother Dacoda Wheeler turned eight on February 4th and he was also lucky enough to be baptized the same day. He has been so excited about turning eight that he reminds every Friday that to keep February 4th open since he was getting baptised. I told him that he would become a member of a very special club that only a few people get to belong to. He promptly said a member of the church. Not just that but getting baptized on your birthday is extra special and you will never forget it. I too am a member of that club and very proud of it.

Saturday morning dawned and as I woke the kids up Reganne asked if it was Sunday. No, it's Saturday. But you are dressed for church. I reminded her that it was Dacoda's special day. Everyone got ready and off we went to the stake center.

It was a great baptism filled with special memories. Dacoda played I Am A Child of God and Jacy gave a talk about the Holy Ghost.

Then it was time for the birthday party. Lot's of food, presents, and cake.

What a great way to spend a Saturday. We are so proud of him!!!

Goodbye Nate...

Nathan Waters received his mission call to serve in Mexico, Leon Mission and reports to the mission field on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. His farewell talk was on January 29th. It was a roadtrip weekend for our family.

We had breakfast in Cedar City at McDonalds for a fast breakfast and play on the playground before Dad was ready to leave.

We had lunch in Springville with Grandma JeanAnn and Grandpa Chris. The highlight of lunch wasn't the food but our waitress straight out of the Addams Family. Dad made a quick stop at Harbor Freight to buy a jack for the monster truck. This was for a just in case moment.

Finally, destination was in sight and time to play with the big cousins and dogs. We enjoyed pizza and movie Mr. Poppers Penquins. It still held its charm the second time through.

Ryder, Rylee, Nate, Ginger, and Reganne

I love you Ginger.

Time to visit!!

He gave a wonderful talk even thoug he was so nervous. We enjoyed a wonderful Cafe Rio style dinner afterwards. We left for home with the knowledge that he will be serving the Lord for two years and he will keep him safe.

Is It Spring Yet?

A soccer uniform

The day after Christmas Ryder asked if it was Spring yet? I replied No not yet. But Mom, you said after Christmas was Spring and then I can play soccer. I was at a loss of words. Soccer season is still 6 weeks away.

A couple of days later he asked if he could play football. I replied No not yet. You need to get a lot bigger. Ok, when does soccer start?

A week later he asked if he could play baseball. I replied No not yet. You need to be older to play. Ok, when does soccer start?

As I left for my monthly soccer meeting he asked did you have my soccer stuff yet? No not yet. Well you need to remember Mom because I want to play.

Sunday afternoons he pretends to be playing soccer. He gets dressed up in various uniforms and pretends to play soccer.

I don't know if he will last until March 31st for the first game.
