Christmas Fever....

Time is flying by and only 3 days til Christmas.  Friday night I turned around from the dishes and saw everyone on the floor.  Dave was telling stories about when he was a kid.  They loved it and the excitement grew.

Even the dogs are getting in the mood.
New Christmas Memory
This year the kids have been begging for the Elf On A Shelf.  Lucky for me Elfie appeared at the Thrift Store and Dave brought him home to stay.  What mischief will he cause?  Elfie is going to have to compete with Dexter the Spaz puppy.  Today the foof chair magically popped open and shredded foam began to spread. Dave and the kids spent most of the morning cleaning up the mess.  I can deal with Elfie playing Wii or riding the train under the tree.

Let the Christmas Spirit continue to grow.....

Game 2 Lady Wildcats

Game 2 started as just game one should have ended.  However, with double overtime and team pictures I was a little late.  Rylee was ready to play or rather get the game over with.  When she finally got on the court she put her heart into the game played some good defense.  One minor problem all the girls are a lot taller than her.  It is almost impossible to get the rebound when it happens over your head.

She didn't give up.

She is blocking and doing her job.
Rebound!!!!
I suggested instead of trying to reach the high balls maybe go low and surprise them.  I love her natural talent.  I wish I have one ounce instead I will always be on the bleachers cheering them on.

Time for dinner......

Another Saturday Game

Reganne's team worked so hard this week to get ready for this game.  They met twice to practice once in the primary room just without even throwing the ball.  They were ready and eager for a chance to try again.  This week however was also different because this team was very physical and in their faces at every turn.

The team center....Reganne.
Hands up and find your match and the person you are supposed to guard.
However, someone forgot to tell one person.
Remember Defense.
This sums up the whole game.
She would not leave the girls alone and was constantly in their faces talking smack.
This girl only came to her shoulder but don't let her size fool you.
Well this game went into double overtime before a winner was declared....Thunder won.  The girls hard work paid off and each had a smile on their face as they walked off the court.

A Week Full of Christmas Spirit

This week has been full of Christmas activities sure to put you in the mood.  The snow and ice outside set the stage.

First up was the ward party.  Rylee was asked to participate in a play for the program.  She was the narrator.  She did a really good job.

The Narrator
She was so comfortable up there on stage and loved every minute of it.
Next up was a visit to Tuachan to watch the Live Nativity.  However, due to the weather the show had been cancelled.  Too much ice on the stairs in the amphitheater.  They were still able to visit Santa and ride the train.  WOW!!! it was cold.

Santa Picture
Is this the real Santa?  Ryder is on the hunt for him this year.
Sibling Love
I will take this fleeting moment.  It sure beats the teasing and fighting.
Our own Live Nativity.
Never seen this before snow on the water feature.
Reganne had to show everyone how amazing this is.
The annual Christmas Car Show on Saturday the weather was a lot warmer over 40 degrees.  Much different from last year when it was jacket weather.  There weren't many cars either this year to it was a quick visit.

Finley Hamster + Kids
3rd Santa of the week.
Is this the real one?

Once again the vote for the real Santa comes down to Father Christmas at the Dickens Festival.  We did tell Ryder that they all are watching him and reporting back.  Too bad this didn't change his craziness.

What awaits us this week?  Hopefully the snow will become a distant memory.

Another First....

Reganne was excited to try another sport.  After watching Rylee last year she really wanted to give it a try.  She is really lucky all the girls on her team are from the neighborhood as well as her coach.  The added bonus was he coached her in soccer last year.  She was ready to learn.

It was finally time to start and the girls were a little nervous but were ready to give it a try.

The whistle blew and they were ready to start.
Throw the ball and make a basket.
She made it!!!!
Darn camera couldn't snap as fast as I wanted it to capture the moment.
Throw the ball
YEAH Thunder!!!!
It was a good game and she even made 2 goals.  Oops wrong game.  They all did really well but lost the game.  Reganne was aggressive and not afraid to scramble for the ball.  However, she would have been in foul trouble if they called them.

Time for dinner and it had snowed the whole time we were at the rec center.

What is this stuff????

New Season New Game...

Basketball season is ready to start, but are the girls ready?

A little overwhelming playing on a full court.
Rylee soon found her stride and also her memory of how the game is played.
Go for it.
Her friend Angel who we had hoped they would be on the same team.
No such luck since they do a draft for the older kids.  Yet they played this game against each other.

I wish I had their talent, but I will always remain the spectator.  Time for Reganne's game in the other gym.

Holy Snowballs!!!!

We had such good weather traveling home from Salt Lake little did we know what was in store for us.  The weathermen never get it right. Well.....this time they did.

We woke up Wednesday morning to this.

It snowed!!!!!
Two inches of white powder covered everything.  Even the roads.
Surly it would melt by afternoon.
NOT!!!!!
This is day 3 and the weather men are once again predicting more snow.  90 percent chance of more white stuff.
DANG!!! They are right again by 9:00 am it was snowing.
Small flakes to start with but got bigger as the day progressed.
By 8:00 pm 6 1/2 inches of the wonderful stuff.
(all fresh)
No snow roses this year.
Do we have a shovel???
Any will do, even an old coal shovel from Grandpa Waters.
The dogs are having a hard time finding a spot to go to the bathroom.
Greetings from St George!!!
The kids masterpiece.
They even cancelled church due to the lack of snow removal equipment and cold temperatures.  Stay home and stay warm.  How long will it last???
