Snowmelt Classic Meet

Just like that it's another meet it's Friday, January 17, 2025 and he has a full schedule. The kids are all tired from Wednesday's meeting but somehow have more than enough energy to do it up right.

Team cheer or chant
Too bad there isn't sound with pictures.
You definitely need ear plugs.

Team with Coach Mike
All smiling and cheering for each other.
This is one of my favorite views of the team.

Final picture
This is the final meet for a few of the kids.
It's hard to say goodbye to family members.

One more with all the boys.

Saying Goodbye
is really hard for both the kids & the coach

Event #2    Mixed 13&O 200 Yard Free    1st Place    1:57.68
Event #9    Mixed 13&O 100 Yard Back    1st Place    1:00.91
Event #15  Mixed  13&O 100 Yard IM    2nd Place    1:00.49
Event #20  Mixed 13&O 50 Yard Back    2nd Place    28.63
Event #25  Mixed 13&O 100 Yard Fly    2nd Place    1:02.22
Event #33  Mixed 13&O 100 Yard Free    DQ - False Start - More to this story for sure. Ryder was a good sport and took the call.

In the mean time....
I hear my name over the intercom. Thinking it's a prank from the kids I headed out to reception.
It took about 5 minutes to find out why. A man & his father told me hit my car. He only took off the mirror. However, he blaimed it on my parking or lack of parking ability. Which I already know that I lack the ability, so I park away from everyone if possible. I wish I took better pictures but there were about 10 empty spaces on either side of me. He also wanted to split the damage. Lucky for us it was only about $30 dollars to fix. I decided not to pursue since I didn't want to engage again.

I am definitley ready for this weekend to be over. We are all exhausted, frustrated, and ready to move on. Monday can't come soon enough.

Senior Night Swim Meet

The high school swim season can be grueling. One meet everyone looks forward to is Senior Night. Let's have some fun!! Tonight's meet is at UTech.

Giant posters of each senior.

A few technical difficulties
keeping the posters on the windows.

Quick family picture

All our seniors being honored!!

Getting Ryder to stand still
that you have to be fast.

Finally, the swimming begins
I'm back on deck as a timer tonight.

A fun night
with a few challenging events.
Former members swimming against current members.
A few brother vs brother.

Fun night with Pine View and Crimson. Another meet in 2 days so time to rest up and get those calories in.

Adventures of Ranger

It's Friday night and we all should slowing down for the weekend. Not so at Rylee & Ruston's house!! Mr. Ranger had a bad case of the Zoomies (dog's running around crazy) and ran into the horseshoe pole in the backyard. The pole won and Ranger ended up with a gash in his leg. A bloody dog needed to go see a vet.

Scoping out the exam room

Sitting still for
how long nobody knows.
They had better hurry.

Look close..Who would like to help out?
Crazy how expensive vet visits can be.

Big boy is stoned out of his mind.

Cone of Shame
Let's see how long this lasts
between him & Miss Indy chewing on it.
My guess a day.

He quickly recovered and back to his usual routine. Let's hope he controls his Zoomies in the future and avoids hurting himself again. Maybe time to check out pet insurance. Or is that a thing?

Jumping Into the New Year!

The new year is time for a reset.

First step
Taking down Christmas

Getting closer
Taking a little longer to sorting, deciding, and packing up.
Moving all decorations to the new storage bins in the upstairs garage.

Time for a haircut.
Waiting for it to warm up a little before getting him groomed.
However, time ran out and hair cut was necessary.
He looks good, smells good, and is a lot happier.

Reganne's treat
"Wicked"

The crowds have thinned out.
It was a good movie for a first timer.
Since I am not a Wizard of Oz fan. I am totally clueless about the whole show.
The best part of the show was hanging out with Reganne.

Photo Memory
I found another school project tucked away in a closet.
Running out of space this needed to become a photo memory and not a physical one.

Yummy treats!!
Snickerbars for the whole family.
I had better enjoy these now since the 90 Day Challenge is coming.

Social media tips & tricks.
Adding heavy whipping cream to cinnamon rolls.
Verdict - So ooey, gooey the cream adds extra punch.
Almost like homemade. A sure repeat.

Is that a gray hair?
Rylee had to share her shocking discovery!!
Wait she is only 22 how is this possible.

The start of the new year is off with a bang!! Let's hope we all survive.

Saying Hi to 2025

New year and new family pictures courtesy of Blake. He always does an awesome job considering that we are not the easiest group to work with.

Kid Updates

Rylee & Ruston celebrated their 2nd anniversay, bought their first house, and have been working so hard. Ruston as the regional manager for Grease Monkey. Rylee at SkyWest with a recent job change moving into Crew Support. They are always on their toes with Indy & Ranger.

Reganne is working hard at St. George Regional Hospital as a registar in the emergency room. She is working 12 hour shifts 3+ days from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. She is working hard and saving to start on career path towards being a vet.

Ryder is a Junior at DHHS working towards graduating this spring as a Junior. When he isn't busy with school he is working for Ruston at Grease Monkey. He is still swimming and working hard each day despite breaking his wrist. He is swimming for both high school and club teams. In other words he doesn't have much spare time.

Four amazing kids that are working hard, playing hard, and continue to surprise us each and every day.

Dave is also working at the hospital as the Manager of the EVS Department. As the campus continues to grow he not only works hard each day with his crew to keep the hospital clean and sanitary for all patients, but the staff is as well. He is also working hard as the ward clerk with the added responsiability of Facetiming a few older members that can't attend. He also has a list of projects he wants to do but never enough time to complete them.

My turn..I am still working at Balance of Nature in the IA Department. We work hard each week helping meet the goals of the company. I love that each day brings new challenges that we try to tackle them. I am once again teaching primary 7-9 years old. The lastest change is will be the Sunbeams+ for the upcoming year. Other crazy things that I do with my time swim official for club & college. Taking, collecting, and trying to delete (not) pictures of my family. Trying new recipes that look yummy and hopefully taste yummy as well.

As we say goodbye to 2024 and all our adventures and craziness. We welcome in 2025 and look foward to as much craziness as we can handle or not.

Happy New Year!!!

Exploring New Treats

Reganne & I are always on looking for something new to try. She found something we definitely needed to try gourmet creamsicles. Tuesday's special are free toppings!! It's Tuesday and we are ready to give them a try.

We are ready!

Free toppings

Reganne's

Mine

Inside
Cookies & Cream, chocolate coating, oreo crumbs, and vanilla drizzle.

Verdict...A little too much sugar but delicious. The only negative is it's only 40 degrees and we are sitting outside. Finished and turned the heat on full blast to warm us both up. We need to come back and try again when it's a little warmer outside.

Family Activity Gift

Rylee & Ruston's Christmas gift for the family is at the Taffy Factory in Santa Clara. We are going to learn how to make taffy. Ryder & I are the only ones to have made taffy before. Ryder's was a couple of months ago on a group date. Mine was a long time ago during Utah history class. Let's see how much I remember.

Cup of plain taffy

Listening to instructions

Pick your flavor

Twist and pull
working your flavors into the sugar.

Added the color
and breaking into snakes.

Rylee's adding a little
extra something.

Cut & ready to wrap
Cool machine that cuts them into
bite size pieces.

Last of all
put into a bag to take home.

Our group
Everyone had a good time.
The take home was even better.
Except for Dave they all had way too much sugar for him to try.

c
Look at all these yummy flavors.
We need to come back and try more.

This was so much fun and such a great idea! Thank you Rylee for planning this fun activity. We need to do more family activities.
