Happy 17th Birthday

Ryder turned 17 and is so full of plans and ideas. The world is his oyster!! You don't hear that saying very often anymore. This year watching him grow, learn, and challenge everyone.

Birthday Boy

Family dinner at Olive Garden

More family
So glad Rylee & Ruston were able to come for the night.

Free dessert of his choice.
Strawberry cheesecake!!!

Birthday Pie instead
of birthday cake.
Lemon Meringue Pie

Fun time to celebrate this amazing boy almost a man. Not sure how this is happening but it's exciting to sit back and watch him grow up more every day. I have a feeling that this next year will fly by even faster. All we can do is lead him by example and pray for him daily if not hourly.

Here's to another amazing year Ryder!!

Swim & Mud

In that order makes for a fun rather messy weekend. It's the Stingray Fall Fling Swim Meet at the worst pool in town. Nat D has been working hard already this season. This will be fun to see how they are doing.

New angle pool picture
I have too many showing the calm pool before
warms ups starts.

The kids are zoned in.

Event #4    Mixed 13 & O 100 Yard Breast    1:12.27    7th Place
Event #9    Mixed 13 & O 100 Yard Back     1:01.28    4th Place
Event #13    Boys 13 & O 200 Yard Free Relay    1:37.97    2nd Place
Event #17    Mixed 500 Yard Free    5:28.45    4th Place

There is still a lot of work needing to be done. A whole lot of healthy competition is always welcome. Ryder didn't swim on Saturday. Instead he was off to try something new.

I went for some pampering
Not sure how to communicate straight across and short.
I have yet to find a salon that listens.

Sand + Water = Mud??
The Grease Monkey Crew headed to Mesquite to participate
in a Mud Volleyball Tournament.

Look at those outfits.
Ears, bowtie, and tail

They played hard
Forgot a change of clothes
Thanks Dad for coming to the rescue it could
have been a miserable ride home.

After the mud dries out what do you have? SAND!! Sand is second to glitter of something that you can never get rid of no mater how much you clean.

First School Dance of The Year

You know when school is in full swing the dances start. It's time for DHHS Homecoming!! The challenge has been given to Ryder to attend every dance this year. This didn't come from me which means he is game.

Let see what fun the group will have.

Day date making taffy at the Taffy Factory

Awesome corsage & boutonniere
Slapband & magnets
Help avoid bloody fingers.

Wiping doggy nose prints off the windows.
Ryder borrowed Rylee's BMW
After the Hummer wasn't big enough for the group
to ride in comfort.

He looks sharp

The Group

He had a good time but was exhausted. These dance days really take it out of you.

One Busy Boy!

Ryder never sits still. He is either moving full steam ahead or fast asleep. There has been very little time for sleep with all his projects spinning around in his head. I was lucky enough to capture a couple of those projects in pictures.

Time for his motorcycle license
Waiting patiently for his turn.

2 others waiting for test as well.
He passed!!
No doubt in my mind. However, he was surprised the other passed as well.
Maybe that's why there have been so many accidents this year with motorcycles.

Old man picture courtesy of Reganne
Surviving sisters has been a
challenge for him most days.
Don't worry he gives as much as they give.

Breakfast @ 6:00 am
It's Saturday but also ACT Test.
He read that a good breakfast will improve his score.
I went back to bed.

There will be more pictures to come this month with his birthday, short course swim season, online school, regular school, and work. I need to catch my breath and hopefully slow him down a little. I'm open to any ideas on how to accomplish that.

Road Trip Saturday

Let's go to Panguitch to the car show!! Dave, Ryder, and I headed out for a Saturday morning road trip.

Love the Hot Wheels sticker

The car isn't so bad either.

Comparing notes

Still in deep conversation
comparing each car.

Not as many cars as past years. It was fun to see families with multiple generations walking thru the cars. Passing on the love for old cars, old stories, and new stories being shared. Time for a leisurely ride home. Nope!! not with Dave driving.

Goodbye Summer?!?

It's the end of August. The heat is still on with not a hint of fall in the air. Let's end the month with a yummy treat.

Cookie Skillet
Enough for 2 or 3?

Just 2!!
It was yummy.
You can tell by Ryder's face he was in heaven.

Saying goodbye to August and hello September!!

Rylee & Ruston Update

They are busy with their new house along with 2 dogs. It's a girls getaway to Las Vegas.

Way too many phones
and not enough faces.

Picture #1

Picture #2
The sphere all lite up.

Rylee has the whole group
sitting at attention to get the treats.
When did Ranger get to big?

Who needs help?

Moving a large couch downstairs.

Too big to fit through the door.
Trying to break it down.

They made it
Now the puppies have someplace to relax
that is all theirs.

It's fun to watch them and their adventures.

What A Week

Another crazy, fun filled week full of mini adventures. The pictures speak for themselves.

Great picture of
Miss Indy and Ranger
They look so innocent. Not sure how the photographer captured this.
Neither one sits still for very long.

What is the temp?
Outside is 75 degrees in August.

Whoa!!
Ranger has a big snout.
He is greeting everyone and saying good morning.

Late nigh visit.
Ryder officially has a date for the homecoming dance.
Plus a new Beta Fish.

Hurricane's Farmers Market
Visiting the BON Garden's Stand.

Ava & Dave
Reganne & Destiny were having a movie marathon.
Ava was able to hang out with us. The movies are way to scary for her.

Oops!!
No toys at our house.
Nothing beats the measuring cups, lids, and spoons.
Every toddlers dream.

Cuddle time!
She came over to me while folding clothes asked to be picked up.
I found Elmo on Roku she snuggled down.
Almost asleep when mom decided it was time to go home.

Toys!!
Dave found these cute toys for Ava's next visit.
Not sure who had more fun together Dave or Ava.
Dave is prepared for her next visit.

See you next week in pictures.
