4th Grade Mother's Day Concert

Rylee brought home a special invitation to a Mother's Day Concert that the fourth grade had been working on for most of the year.  I asked her if Dad could come with me and the answer was no it was for Mother's Day so only Mom's were invited.  Surprise some Dad's did show up, she reminded me that they were not invited.

The program started with the kids marching in all in their Sunday Best.  WOW!! how grown up they all looked.  They found their places and waited for the teachers to start.  They all started playing their recorders.

Even with all those kids+records they sounded pretty good and followed along and even more impressive stopped when directed.  The poems were perfect and ended with a perfect song for all the mothers.  They were then dismissed to bring treats to their mothers and a special gift.


It was the perfect was to start celebrating Mother's Day.

Spring Soccer: Game 5 vs Red Blaze

The winds died down by Reganne's game and it quickly heated up.  Not the weather but the competition between these two teams.  They have played 4 times this year and each time they are more evenly matched.

 Our girls played a good game but fell short in the last quarter.  Reganne was bummed because she only played 1/2 of the 4th quarter.  We switched players quietly so everyone had a chance to play and not sit out the whole quarter.

Spring Soccer: Game 5 vs Red Dragons

Saturday dawned to blue skies and wind a perfect day for soccer.  It was also picture day.  The boys were eager to practice and play together.  Each week they come a little bit farther but the best thing to watch is that they are having fun.  The Red Dragons only had two players show up.  Coach asked the boys who wanted to play on their team?  Every hand raised and the game started.  Ryder was eager to get out and play Dad was there to watch.

Happy Birthday to Me!

One year older but I am not sure whether I am wiser or not. But I am lucky to have such a great family that love me and want to celebrate with me.  Turning 46 was a lot easier with hugs and kisses from my kids.  Ryder told me I could only celebrate in the morning since that was when I was born.  Reganne told me that I didn't need anymore birthdays I was good.  I told her I had to have a birthday because the alternative was not good.  What would happen?  I would be dead.  She said please keep having them.  We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse and once again I got up on the saddle to the birthday cheer.  There were four others celebrating in our section.  It was a busy night.

A Kindle Fire from Dave so I can move my books off of his.  This is also my Mother's Day Gift.    Another year to learn to be wiser, patient, and slow down.

Dino Days

Dino Days comes once a year and with it our one visit. This year they opened a new exhibit about Dinosaur Names what they mean.  Along with the exhibit is a new kids area to create and have fun with crayons, make their own creation with the "Box of Bones".  The kids were excited to go and participate.

Check out this one that is finished.  How colorful they made it.

The paleontologist came to school for the 4th grade assembly and the kids were able to ask questions.  Rylee's question was did dinosaurs and humans live on the earth at the same time?  No, was his answer.  That was new to me.

We are never to old to learn.

Spring Soccer: Game 4 vs Purple Pirates

Time for Reganne's game against the Purple Pirates.  This was another hard team for us in Fall.  The whistle blew and they were off.  I was busy helping the coach with the roster for the rest of the game.  Rylee stepped in as photographer and go some pretty good shots.

They have been working on playing positions and all that work is starting to pay off.  Gone was turtle ball and in it's place soccer was actually taking place.

What a good game.  Everyone played a great game.  One parent asked at the end who won.  Coach Heidi replied "It was a tie"  The parent looked doubtful and she told him to ask the girls they keep better track that we do.  Good Job, Keep up the hard work.

Spring Soccer: Game 4 vs Green Ninjas

Soccer Saturday dawned with sunshine, blue skies, and a light breeze.  Perfect for a day on the fields.  Too bad we let the kids stay up late so everyone was tired and a little onrey.  Off we went for Ryder's practice and game against the Green Ninjas.  The practice was fun to watch they are starting to catch on.
