Time SUSA Time Trials

Special invite Monday morning meet final time to qualify for championship meets in the coming months.  It's also a holiday weekend. Rise and shine to chlorine let's get the show on the road. I was surprised when Ryder announced he was going so of course we were off. Brought my official clothes but not needed after all. Instead I was going to time since there was only 4 and you need 8.

Stretching before warmups

Love these kids!!
All singing the Star Spangle Banner together.
They work hard, play harder, and they stand together always.

No official times to report at this final meet. The computers, clocks, and timing pads all were having issues. This turned into a much longer meet than promised. Time for lunch and back to work for me. No qualifying times for Ryder this year.  He plans to keep working hard and making it next year.  Or long course is coming and more hard work.

Boys Trip

Son like father, 2 peas in a pod, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, and any other phrases that describe a father & son team. This is never more true than Ryder & Dave. They both love anything with wheels and the thrill of looking for great deals. Ryder found one in Phoenix.

Road Trip to pick up his first purchase.
Look Mom!!

Beautiful rainbow
on the trip home.

They made in home.
All 3 off them!

Ruston helping check everything out.

Everyone trying to assess

First order getting some gas.
Letting Dad drive might not be such a good idea.
He might want to keep it.

They are off!

Small problem
Where do you put the gas in?
After a few attempts they found right on tip
just pressing down. It popped right up.

They had a great time together on a 24 hour trip. The adventure is just getting started with flipping cars. Watch for updates on this new venture.

A New Month...February

Not sure how we got to February but here we are.

Love getting random pictures with this beautiful smile.

It's not perfect.
Rylee is ready to suffer again for a sake a beauty.
Hopefully the 3-4 months go by even faster.

It happened again!!
Ryder being invited to Preference
Not sure where Sophie got the socks from.

Ryder's response
Dang!! I can't get the picture to move the right way.
Only 2 dances left in the school year.

There is never a dull moment or a slow one in our family. Stay with us for new challenges this month.

Have You Ever...

Tried anything new? Tried something different? or tried a new adventure?  We stepped out of our comfort zone for just a little while. Not sure if it was all successful, but it was fun to see what happens.

Brookies?
One of my primary kids talked about a yummy treat that her older sister made.
I though I knew what I was doing and it sounds yummy.
No recipe?
Failed attempt with the brownie on top and not cooking all the way through.
It could be a success if you like doughy brownies

Not to pick up after your kids?
This also wasn't much of a success.
Ryder couldn't understand why I was going crazy about his blankets thrown on the floor.
We are still working on this one.

Ever wondered where your sacrament cups
come from?
If you ave in our ward wonder no more.
This is what a years worth looks like.
They are heavier than you would think.

It's a crazy foggy morning
in St George.
Driving to Hurricane was what driving in the clouds
would be like. Hurricane was blue skies with fluffy white clouds.
By noon the fog was gone.

Yummy lunch
I'm not usually very adventurous with vegetables.
I had to share with Ryder what he was missing today.
Fish Wednesday is always a winner!!

Heart Attack!!
Dave's supervisors love him.
They really like to surprise him and maybe make him squirm a little.

Everyone should try to new things and new adventures once in a while. It's surprising what you might like and even enjoy. Be adventurous!!

Stingrays Snowmelt Classic 2024

Here we are the final regular meet of the short course season. This has been a weird season and it is weirder by the minute. After this meet it's onto championship season. Ryder is so close to qualifying let's s see what he can do.

New style of picture
I need new angles of swim pictures.
What did you say? I can't hear you.

Ryder & David
They have competed against each other since they were 9 years old.
One swimming at SHAC and the other at WCCC.
Then worked out along side each other the past 2 years on the
Nat D Team. This is their last meet together. David graduates from high school in May.

This was their first time.
March 2018 at Short Course Age Group Championships.
Look how they have grown up?
Time has flown bye!!

It was a good meet giving balance after super fast times in San Diego. Most coming back to reality to home times.

Event #5    Mixed 13 & O 50 Yard Breast    2nd Place    32.99
Event #7    Mixed 13 & O 100 Yard Back    4th Place    1:02.55

Updating or Remodeling

Either word you choose means a whole lot of work. Reganne talked about updating her bedroom to a more grown up look and feel. Dave loves all things related updated, remodeled, or refreshed. Dave's eyes start to twinkle with excitement. Reganne eagerly starts cleaning out her room.

It's been a week
The room isn't empty but the garage is quickly filling up.

WOW!!
The room is cleaned out, painted, and ready to clean the carpets.
Dave & Ryder were anxious to get this knocked out.
Reganne had slowed down and they took over.

What should we name it?
My job was to rack the carpet before trying to vacuum.
It's crazy this all came from one person.

Looks good
Time to start the redecorating.

New furniture
What is in the box and why is it on the bed?

Who knew that you can buy a mattress
on line? Not me that's for sure.
I am not totally convinced.

WOW!!
15 minutes later ready for sheets.

Paint?
One thing I have learned over the past 7 years with teenagers.
That changing their minds is to expected.
I got a call to look at more paint. Reganne wasn't sure about the color and her plans.
She bought samples to try. She bought new paint and set out to do it her way.
Loved her taking control. The whole process drove Dave crazy.

She is ready to sleep there tonight.

Looks great
There is still work to do. I am eager to see
what she comes up with.

Ryder was feeling a little left out
He bought a new comforter for his bed.
I think I spotted new paint as well.
That adventure hasn't been tackled yet.

This adventure has been more fun that I thought it would. Strong wills aside, watching them develop their own personalities made this worth it. Hopefully, with them making the decisions will help keep their rooms cleaner. To much to hope for? Possibly, but it is possible.

Jump Into the Fun

Rylee & Ruston are off to Oregon to hang out with friends. That means Indy is hanging out with us.

I am not sure this is Rylee approved.
But every time I turn around there she is quickly getting any
crumbs before the other 2 can get any.

Another cookie adventure
I have heard about this store and how good it was.
Ryder & I decided to try it for ourselves.

2 Chocolate Chip
1 MMs Giant
1 Twix
The vote is in: Winner with a the M&M Giant. Closely followed by the Chocolate Chip.
These are definitely a buy again.

Ties do strangle!!
When all else fails to get the knot out cut it off.
Ryder getting ready for church put his tie on.
Trying to adjust it into the right position.
It wouldn't loosen instead it got tighter until he started to panic.
He would deny it but I could see a little tremble in his chin.
Scissors handy and a whole lot of determination we got if off him.
He is now down to 1 tie.

New recipe
No bake chocolate crunch bars.
Needs a whole lot more chocolate. This a definitely a maybe.

Courtesy of Rylee
Is it stuffed or alive? ALIVE!!

Beautiful!!
Love the scenery.

Let's hope Rylee and Ruston make it home without too many delays due to flying standby. Indy is patiently waiting each night perched on Dave's chair waiting for them to get home.

'Weekend Road Trip

Mesquite Motor Mania 2024 one large car show this weekend. Dave & I were alone in this adventure since Ryder was scheduled to work.  This show has more than just cars.

A swap meet
Car parts

Our favorite's Raggedy Ann & Andy
We decided a picture was worth more
than actually better than buying them.

New beanie hats
Grandma JeanAnn could make a small fortune here.

I couldn't stop laughing at this sign.
This show is full of older men and women
sharing their passions with the younger generation.

Getting another closer look.

We came, saw, and enjoyed the sunshine. These shows will soon fade away as the car guys get older. We had better enjoy them while we can.
