They played the Red Blaze this week. This team had some great players with fancy footwork. 2 of the girls having been playing since they could walk. Needless to say we were a little out matched. The ladybugs stuck with them and did really well. Reganne was showing signs of a cold or allergies??? Practice this week the school cat showed up again and Reganne would not leave it alone. So she has a stuffy nose and lead in her shoes. Not enough to keep her from scoring 2 goals and playing defense. She is getting really good scrambling for the ball. She has the grass stains and skinned up knees to prove it.

Soccer Week #6
Week 6 and Picture Day dawned with a downpour. Everyone thought for sure soccer would be cancelled today. Lucky for us the rain stopped around 7:00 just at the sun started to come up. The fields were still wet at 9:00, but the kids were ready to play. This week we played the Orange Blossoms.
Kick Off

Defense
It was a great game. Reganne told everyone that she would score three goals. One for Dad since it was his birthday. One for Ryder since he was hurt, and one for Grandma since she came to watch and visit. Dave told her not to plan that many it may be to hard. She promptly replied Yes Dad I can! and she did. The coaches then put her on defense. The four others all scored as well.
They all did really well in the cooler, wet weather.

Saturday Story Time
We has so much fun last week at story time. The girls wanted to go back. This weeks book was "Room on the Broom" They listened and asked questions through the story. Reganne knew the story from school so no prompting was needed she added her comments all along.
Then came the craft... Color another Halloween Picture... A witch and animals on her broom.

Ryder & Hernia Surgery
Ryder was diagnosed with a Right Inguinal Hernia a couple of weeks ago. The surgian was really anxious to get it taken care of. After doing a little internet research myself and discovering that this type of hernia can become very painful if not taken care of.
Thursday morning we were off to the hospital.
His appointment wasn't until 8:00 am and then they called and asked us not to come until 8:30. Ryder was screaming in the background for breakfast. He was hungry and wanted to eat now!!! I told the nurse no problem, but I wished it was earlier since he was screaming for breakfast. She promptly apologized and had hoped that wasn't him she was hearing in the background. Dave took him for a drive and dropped Rylee off at school.
Upon arrival there was paperwork to be filled out and another wait in the waiting room. The closer we got the more clingy he became. The more the staff tried to talk to him the more clingy he became.
Finally, we were called back. He was weighed & measured and given his room. He promptly looked at the clothes and refused to change. The nurses were so patient with him and turned on cartoons. We played with toys until they brought him his first round of medicine a mixture of Tylonal and Vercede.
It tasted nasty, but we got most of it down him. Then his mood began to change. He started laughing and giggling. I changed his clothes.
Instead of making him sleepy it made him silly. The doctor soon came to check him out and make his mark. He started marking the right side of his groin. I told the doctor it was the left side of the scrotum that swelled up. He continued to check him over and decided that exploritory surgery was in order first. This way he could make sure the fixed all that needed to be fixed. We then had to wait for them to reset for the added procedure.
We Waited and Waited ... WAITED!!! The nurses brought a wagon for him to ride in. After one trip around the surgical floor he decided he wanted to pull it. We made at least 20 laps before he was worn out. Finally, they came for him. The sleepy doctor came in and decided that Ryder would fall out of the bed. So the nurse promptly picked him up and he started to scream. The doctor promptly replied he will be ok and it is ok to cry. I could hear him screaming all the way to surgery.
Finally, hour and half later the doctor came out and said he was doing fine and in recovery. The hernia was the length of his scrotum. He was glad that we caught it when we did. He is all fixed up. There are no restictions, no bath for 48 hours, and no swimming for 7 days.
They came and got him just before bringing him to post op. I just sat down to read and I could hear "I want my MOMMY" at the top of his lungs. Again, the decided it was better to carry him. He was screaming and yelling for the IV, Pressure Cuff, and Hear Monitor to be removed. He was so drugged up that I couldn't even comfort him. He had to eat something before the stuff could be removed. He refused!!! We had a standoff in progress. They tried removing the equipment and still he wouldn't eat. He threw the popcicle at them, refused the milk, wouldn't look at the graham crackers. Finally, she offered him Oreos. That did the trick. He promptly opened it up and ate the frosting and relaxed.
We were released after the 2nd Oreo. They took him out in the same wagon he had pulled around.
He finally passed out at 9:30 and slept through the night. He refused to put a pullup on and slept in his underwear. He stayed dry all night.
Three days later he is doing great. He hasn't slowed down. The only way to tell he is hurting is he slows down and starts favoring his right side. I give him the Tylonal or Motrin and he is back to the races.

Don't touch my Oreo!!!!
At home he was ready to play. He would sit for awhile and then start playing with his cars. No rest for Mom either. He wanted me by his side always.

Barnes & Noble Storytime
We found an new activity on Saturdays. Barnes & Noble Bookstore has storytime each Saturday afternoon. I found this online after receiving one of their junk emails. They were so excited to try something different. The best part is that it is free. I can't remember the title of the book, but of course it was about Halloween. The best part was the storyteller allowed the kids to interact during the story. Reganne had her usual 100 questions, Rylee sat there quietly, and Ryder kept exploring the truck books in the other corner.
Then came craft time.

Finally Friday !!
It's Finally Friday!!!! How often I hear these words. This week was no different, however it was how I felt. The weather was so nice and everyone was exhausted and needed a break. We stopped at the park on the way home and played.

Lady Bugs and Explorers Pizza Party
There was no soccer this week due to Fall Break at school. The Ladybugs were invited to a pizza party with Washington County Sheriff's Explorers at the Sheriff's Office. Reganne was so excited to go. She asked me if I could teach her to drive so she could go. My response was no, I will take you. Good thing since there were so many people at the party. Her shyness kicked in and she wouldn't leave my side.

Soccer Week #5
Week 5 was all about team work. We were short two girls for this game. Reganne, Angel, and Tailor played the whole game. By working together they were able to each score a goal. The Purple Princess were a great team.

Reganne 6th Birthday
Finally, Reganne is 6 years old. She has waited for this day for along time. Everything has been measured by her birthday since Christmas was over.
This is the one thing she has said she wanted since after Christmas. She was very specific the Pink & Purple Unicorn was what she wanted. She has slept with it each night and carries it around with her.

Reganne & Chucky Cheese Birthday
Reganne has asked for months to go to Chucky Cheese. Each time we visit Grandma & Grandpa we haven't had time. When Reganne was planning her birthday she really wanted Brinton to be there. We decided to grant both wishes. Go to Chucky Cheese in Orem and invite Brinton to come along. We had to wait until after her soccer game to leave. We then made the long drive to Grandma's house. The whole way she kept asking if we were close yet.

Fire Station Fieldtrip
Ryder has been so fascinated with firetrucks and fire stations that I scheduled a visit to the main station. Ryder was all eyes, but wouldn't say a word. We brought along our friend Dacoda.

Soccer Week #4
Game 4 was the starting of defense. The Dragonflies and Lady Bugs were pretty well matched. This week the coaches had one girl stand at half field to play defense. It took awhile before they caught on. Once they did they were off and running.
