Taking a break

Arriving in time for warm ups meant that Ryder & I had 45 minutes to kill.  It was time to explore the many trails around the fields.  We found a trail down to the river.

Is it cold?

The Virgin River

A little chilly
We are definitely need to come back here later this summer.  It was time head back to the fields before the game gets started.

Ryder soon got sidetracked as we walked up the trail.  Mom!!! Look over there is that snow?  It looks like it but go touch it.

It's soft

Let's take some home.
It wasn't snow but cotton from the cotton trees all around the river.  It will also make you sneeze if you aren't careful.  He even found a few dog baggies soon they were full of cotton and not poop.  The question is will they make it home?

Soccer Week

There are only 2 weeks left in the soccer season and we have 4 games left to play.  They will playing 3 of the 4 this week.  Reganne is excited to get back on the field and give it her all.  First game on Monday against The Heat.

The girls were ready to play and have fun along the way.  Start time at 7:50 which means they would be playing under the lights.

High fives all around

They played hard and came away with the win 5 to 1.  I waited for Reganne to play and thought she was in at one point but no knee brace.  After the game I found out she did play the right wing position on the dark side of the field.  When I asked how she felt?  Good!!!  A girl of few words.

Wednesday's game was across at the Sullivan Fields against Rage.  The earlier start time of 7:00 was going to be nice.  However, the clouds were rolling in and it looked like rain.  Could it only hold off until after??

Nope!!! the wind started to blow and the rain soon followed.  Not only did it rain but it came in sideways.  The game started.

She is in.

It continued to rain
The next thing is Reganne slips on the wet grass and goes down.  She does get up on her own power and hobbles off the field.

A double rainbow
Make a wish!!!
My wish came true.  Reganne was back on her feet without any additional damage.  Plenty of rest, a little ice, and a warm shower.

Saturday's game and the sun is shining.  It was going to be a warm game.  I really like Saturday games since they are earlier in the day.  The Blast had traveled up from Mesquite it was time to roll.

Ready to play!!!
And she did.

Play they did.

The Win
She was able to play the last 5 minutes of the game.  Her knee held up and there was a smile on her face.  The look on her face was priceless!! It was great to see her confidence coming back.  Only one problem we are going to be gone for the last game of the season.  No more confidence building this season.

Final Memories of April

April was a busy month full of activities, craziness, and even relaxing times at home.  The odds & ends pictures are perfect to close out the business.

Trampoline fun
It was great discover after a long winter.
Watch my new tricks!!!

Spanish Class Project
Family Tree
I thought it was cool and wanted to see what she wrote.
Double surprise!!!
I don't read Spanish and  Rylee went to bed early.
She did get an A on the project.

Family Movie Night

All hanging together
The Greatest Showman not only selling out theaters when it came out.  It was also selling out in the stores.  We finally found it at Walmart and just in time for a family movie night.  It was just as good the 3rd time and even better we could all sing along as loudly was we wanted to.

Cotton Days Parade

SUSA swim team was going to be participating in the parade this year.  Ryder's group was excited to walk the route together.  We had to first find the group at the line up spot and then I had to find a spot to watch.  In 24 years this is the first time I have been to this parade.  Found the perfect sunny spot to sit, watch, and wait.
People sitting on the islands.
I will have to make my way over there to watch.

Throwing candy?
No, money!!!

Here they come

Can we ride?

Busy hanging with friends.

Old cars

Muscle cars

Even tractors
The parade lasted only and  hour but it took us another 1/2 hour to find each other afterwards.  Thank goodness Ryder is very resourceful and went back to the rec center to use their phone to call me.  We finally got back together at the rec center.  It was time to head home, eat parade candy, and an extra surprise.

Money!!!
There was money on the ground!!! It was awesome.  I then told him about the truck who was throwing money instead of candy.  He was still amazed at what he had picked up and still thought it was pretty cool. If they had only thrown quarters we could have got a real treat.

Take Your Kids to Work Day

Ryder was the only one interested in going this year.  I signed up early as I was reminded about last year.  That I waited too long and there were no open spots.  He doesn't bring homework home since his teacher refuses to send it home.  Instead she gives them time during the day to complete their assignments.
We had to be there early which is no problem for him. He was up bright and early before 7.
Please Mom!!!
Why do you  have to take pictures?

Breaking into groups.

Playing games
and learning about the crazy world
of an airline.

Learning about the Inflight Dept

He had a great time making new friends and learning new things.  His favorite was the rocket launching by the dispatch group.  He needed on last thing LUNCH!!!  It was off to Chick Fil A to meet Dave.  He had enough work today, school was almost out, time to head home with Dad.

Evening of Soccer

It's Wednesday night and it's April so it must be a soccer night.  The older teams have played their games in between high school games.  Then it's 3 games a night with the last one scheduled at 8:45.  We are lucky this week we get the early game but scored the worst field in town.  What's up parks & recreation department?  The field is mostly dirt and aerated as well with larger dirt clods all over the field.  It was going to be a hot, dusty, evening.

Ryder sent me this picture after school.
103 degrees are you serious?
It's only April.
Reganne wasn't sure she was ready to play but she dressed in her uniform and sat with the team.  This is progress since she would rather not be there if she can't play.  It took a lot of convincing to get her over there and she had a good time hanging out with the girls.

Hand shakes
Playing in the dirt.
The other team was short two players at the start but luckily a couple more showed up before the whistle blew.  The girls played really hard and we won 5 to 0.

On the way home Reganne told me the coach would put her back on the active roster if she could keep up at practice the next day.  She is excited to give it a shot and get back on the field.

Their next game is on Wednesday again.  Let's hope it is a little cooler.

Annual Kite Festival

This year I didn't have to keep track of Ryder's reading sheet for the Kite Festival.  Instead his teacher kept them until the very last day in hopes that they wouldn't get lost but make it to be turned in for prizes.  We filled it in, signed it, and almost forgot to take it with us.  It was a perfect afternoon to fly kites, eat treats, and play games.

He picked books again this year.

I can do that!!!
It's easy!!! Watch!!
Maybe not so easy.
He had fun anyway playing the games and earning treats.  He even had a few from swim team come and congratulate him on his award from the night before.  He was surprised that people were stopping him.  We had our bag of treats, flyers, and even a few prizes it was time to head home.

It was also time to relax at the movie theater for some family time.  This week's movie was I Can Only Imagine with Dennis Quaid.  It was a good movie and one that I would definitely recommend seeing  If not in the theater then renting it.  Why does popcorn smell & taste so good in the theater but not so much on the ride home?

Ryder's class only turned in 4 sheets at the Kite Festival.  So much for Mrs Young's theory.
